Amazing skills you got there buddy :) Which tablet are you using? Please help me bro, I also wish to do such stuffs and came across the Wacom CTH460 bamboo pen and touch graphic tablet. Is this good to use? Please advise....
Thankyou friend. I am using a wacom Intuos tablet...The tablet you mentioned is fine..not too pricey and middle of the road..It should be good enough for having some fun - I used a bamboo model before but not the one you mentioned but as its Wacom i am sure it'll be fine! best of luck to you!
@jallis12 Thanks for the comment! I try to demonstrate in the video that it is all about breaking the body down into shapes. It is not a naive matter of drawing shapes though - one must learn the bones and major muscle groups of the body (can easily be done from books) first and then understand how to simplify them. I do a more cartoon style here so proportions are exaggerated head size waist etc...Ultimately keep practicing and it will become second nature to you- best of luck!
Hi, ive just bought a A4 drawing tablet, currently im doing a course at universtiy studying industrial design, im a massive fan of drawing on paper and this seems un-natural but thats probably because ive only been playing with it for around an hour.
Are there any tips you can give me regarding getting the lines to go where you want them?
e.g. do you looks at the screen while your drawing, do you have the tablet angled do you use a trace pad?
Hi I know how you feel There was a time I swore never to touch this product. Paper will always be king for me. I tried this a few times and hated it. A work colleague kinda made me persist with it & I thank him because it is a vital tool for industry work. Sadly the demand for paper is declining even storyboards are done digitally now :( I look at the screen never trace. persist with it and I am sure it will become second nature-There are no real tips just draw the way you do!
Thank you very much for such a generous comment to associate my work with Disney is a better comment than I could hope for. I wish you the best with your drawing. keep practicing and maybe you'll draw better than this :) !
It was at first...Believe me I despised digital drawing. I was hellbent to continue on paper until my career forced me to adapt...I will still always prefer paper but after a day or two drawing this way becomes second nature.Sometimes I laugh to myself about the fuss I once made about it!
I recommend it for any one as it is efficient for moving into other areas like colour and laying out. I personally feel paper is best but sadly the industry is phasing paper out..wanting things to be digital for the sake of digital, ramming up cost and claiming efficiency.Storyboards are now done in the computer. Its sad but we as artists have to adapt to these harsh realities. I don't know if this is the case in comics but I have seen that digital comics are on the rise.
@eubasaban I saw some similer graphics tablets on amazon for $200 to $150 (+plus shipping) What stores are likely to have them in stock? What can of prices can I get for a medium sized one?
@stefanoGFsiciliano is the best for people who draw any kind of ddrwas, mostly for comics ans concept art, is the most important tool on this, if you are a comic drawer the u should buy a wacom
Thanks for the intellectual critique...I'll bear that in mind on the next movie I am working on...Gay was originally a term for happiness and your language skills are indeed hilarious. I'd rather you didn't use my page to come out of the closet, however Youtube is for every one - so knock your self out if that's your thing but bare in mind there are probably more suitable videos concerning homosexuality on this site for you to indulge in -I wish you luck in finding them.
I didn't use any specific tool... I changed my brush from a pressure sensitive one to a normal brush.. the opacity brush enables one to make soft delicate lines as with charcoal or a pencil :)
Damn how do you people never mess up lol. I always spend half my time erasing :S And I would assume it would be harder to do on the computer... how do you see what you're doing?
Hey Thanks for your comment it is much appreciated! I think you should not worry too much about making mistakes and erasing them out and just draw and let it be . There are plenty mistakes in my work I just like to be loose and free . it develops your hand eye coordination and soon you will be making more definite and confident strokes and line choices. Enjoy the journey to perfection it is a never ending one and you'll never reach it but you'll get pretty damn good trying :)

To be honest, no. The bamboo series is... Not all that great, even for beginning. i owned one previous to buying my Intuos3, especially considering a size like that (4x6, i would assume). If i were you, I would save some cash for an intuos3, or not save some cash and buy an older (And cheaper, perhaps larger) intuos1 or 2.

This is very nice, great anatomy and all that. Hey have you ever tried camstudio? It would prevent you from having to record your screen like that so you could get a clearer image. :) I don't know your computer's specs but it should run on anything with a decent graphic card. :)
Thank you for both your comment and advice I appreciate it greatly...I do now use cam studio for my other clips after many requests for me to do so...I don't know call me old fashioned but I still kind of like this recorded effect..I'm showing my age!
Hi no I am not on Deviantart thanks for asking! I learned anatomy from doing life drawing and studying anatomy books designed for artists..focusing on the muscles that form relief on the body and the bone structure. The drawing above is based on anatomical sensibility but stylised and exaggerated in to basic shapes that would work well in hand drawn animation.
i was thinking of getting into drawing again myself.
up untill a few years back i drew like a mad man, but then during middleschool i had to draw constructions with a cad program and that kinda nailed my time and love for any kind of drawing.
But ive allways been a huge anime fan so i wanna pick it up again.
So as im a newb tot computer drawing could u tell me what tablet u use or suggest?
i was thinking about smtn like the wacom Bamboo (or bamboo fun) wich cost under 100 euro.
Thanks! The Bamboo fun is perfect for someone wanting to pursue a hobby its a good tablet. I must stress Its not the computer that will make you great at drawing! A sketchpad & pack of pencils are way cheaper and your still drawing! Learning anatomy,composition,shading,etc... Once you get a tablet you translate all those skills to it.Sure get a tablet have fun but it's not the most natural way to draw - you can become a natural with it but your already a natural with a pencil from the outset!
i think this is relly good!! how did you get the settings on the brush to go so smoothly? mine used to be like that and then it just went back to fat and thick, if you could help it would be very apreciated!!
Thankyou kindly friend. The brush settings were the standard opacity airbrush...It is a default brush with my tablet. Sorry i can't be of any more help!
Thanyou friend...Yes Shenmmue is a work of art...I am not so sure they should make a third one in todays climate as I believe the world of video games and the style of play has changed.I'm thankfull I enjoyed the experience when I did ;)
amazing i did buy a wacom intous3 and i still dont get it . i have some skill on pencils but with the wacom is a bit hard is not the same even if it looks easy on this vid ...
I'm sure over time you will get the hang of it...I once Hated tablets due to my believing they lacked the control of pencil and paper...I still believe nothing can touch the old pencil and paper...but I am now also a frim believer in the Wacom tablet ;)
We're so advanced that we can draw on a computer instead of pen and paper and you're using a video camera to take a picture of the screen. Fail. Learn how to use technology.
I thank you for sharing your 'advanced' knowledge with me friend. I shall cast aside my animation career and the sharing of knowledge with others and instead strive to invest my time in developing skills in video games and recording them for others to ejaculate in amazement at. Then I can truly become one of the 'we' collective you term to be advanced...You staunch intellectual youthat told me good!
Lol I think you enjoy replying to your comments a little bit too much.
Anyways it is not that hard to find an app that will record your screen to a video file. I have no idea why your talking about video games and ejaculating to them.. but what you do with your own time is none of my concern.
Also think about investing in a LCD screen instead of a CRT, they only cost $100 these days...
Thank you for your council friend. As to having no idea about recording and displaying video games...then perhaps I over estimated your intellect, as clearly you are unaware of the content of your own channel. Indeed my personal business is none of your concern so it surprises me that you should bother to invest your valuable time writing comments on my page. Im sure it could be better spent playing those games you value so much and uploading them in whatever fashion suits you best.
wow you're very good. im getting a bamboo fun tablet soon (i dont know if that's the one you have) so ive just been looking up different drawings. do you have any advice for drawing? im pretty good myself, not to brag, but im nowhere near your level. once again, VERY talented you are.
Thanks for the endorsement friend its appreciated! My tablet is a step up from the bamboo...the intuos a4, but the bamboo is a fine tablet and not too pricey. Its good to acknowledge your strengths but important to develop your weaker areas. The best advice I can give you is to study anatomy and styles that interest you. Try to see things as shapes and work loose. Its like being careless and carefull at the same time!!! Anyway best of luck with your drawing friend and thanks again!
Thanks for the kind words friend! I'm sure if you keep practicing and get used to your tablet you'll become proficient at it yourself! best of luck to you :)
very nice drawing ^^, could you please tell me how to make straight lines easier? Im new to drawing, and to be honest i got no idea where to even start, but the lines i draw look very shivery and ruin the drawing =/
Hi thanks for the kind comment! The best advice I can suggest to you is to not try so hard - be loose and free with your lines...soon you will gain confidence in your strokes. it takes time but just like weight training for example...the muscles grow with regular training! so just keep practicing and having fun....the more you beat yourself up about your work and over concentrate the slower your progress shall be. Thanks for asking and good luck!
Yeah what Eubasaban said is very true :) if you think, omdays this is so crappy i can't get anywhere! then u will improve slowly. but if u just work litterally like a kid just scribbling, and if u start maybe 10-20 mins a day ur improvement will be amazing. also observe anatomy too if you can. one thing for me was i was always like 'is this the right way to do it?' dw bout that just scribble scribble :) refinement is for later. put a piece of paper over top nd clean it if u want.
Hey no need to appologise man. It's great to see your confdence growing and to think my little scribbles helped! That is what Youtube is all about for me my friend...Its so satisfying to see artists getting more confident in them selves keep up the great work ;)
that is a stupid hobby thing to be good at. wouldnt you rather use your talent for something worthwhile. you losers waste your time. these take ages to get used to
I thank you for taking the time to comment on my video and acknowledging I have some talent. As to weather I am a looser or not that is entirely subjective and if you believe that working on Hollywood movies is being looser then that is your right and I respect that. Thanks again for investing your time in my 4-minute video!
Hey! Many Thanks for your Kind words! Please don't apologize - your English is far superior to my Spanish! Wacom tablets start off awkward but after a bit of practice they become easy and almost as natural as a standard pencil. A good tip to get used to them is write your name over and over and once you feel confident just start playing around! Have fun!
Just tried my hands at a tablet for the first time in my life :D
it's fine as a mouse, no prob on that, but sometimes I just can't draw a straight/accurate line and had to scrub that whole area out, maybe I'm still not confident in using the tablet?
Is it going to wear off if I get more practice? And what size is your bamboo fun? (just curious)
Well in answer to your questions all I can say is just keep practicing! Try making lines out of short strokes until you get a feel for it. Drawing a straight line on paper is actually not as easy as it sounds! My tablet is the Wacom Intuos a4 size but I have played with the smaller bamboo and it is quite capable. Just keep having fun my friend and I'm sure things will fall in place! Patience!!! :)
With regards to tips I can suggest that you try not to focus on making it so 'nice'! and loosen up - look for shapes when you draw, study from life and keep practicing. Drawing is like any skill e.g., pumping iron-the muscle will build over regular training I'm sure if you keep practicing regularly you'll be turning good stuff out, only don't expect it, when it comes you'll be pleasantly surprised and inspired to do more and more! Have fun and good luck!
I am a freelancer based in the UK...I have worked on adverts, tv shows (BBC) I also done a couple of movies - my most recent being the "Tale of Despereaux" for Universal... I was a story board artist on that one...Thanks for the interest!
for universal, thats cool, i dont think i have seen that "Tale of Despereaux", so i'll look for it, (must be so cool to be in a movie's story board) thanks
No problem friend, it's a CGI feature due out Christmas time... I believe the trailer is on here somewhere... It was fun to be storyboard as I still got to draw!
hi i guess by te looks of this u are a good artist i was wojndering if it would be worth it to buy a cintiq 12wx im 13 and i want to become a graphics designer what tablet do u use and umm..
Well at the age of 13 you have lots of time to develop your drawing & establish a style so the basic pencil & paper is a good start! If you are interested in a tablet I'd say get a decent enough one to practice on like the Bamboo its affordable and you can grow with it...Of course The Cintiq is the industry standard and if you can afford one I say go for it! But you can develop just as well for half the price - Hope that helps!
Well there is no better hint then to keep practicing and find whatever way you feel comfortable with... Using and opacity brush with soft and hard pressure will help you define strokes and working with different layers is a good way to develop but ultimately it is how you as an artist work...pretty soon you will use it just as paper and pen and apply your own trademark tricks best of luck and have fun!
Hi there! Thanks for the thumbs up! My tablet is the intuos .3 a4 size Wacom tablet... The dpi is 5,080 and pressure sensitivity level is 1,024...Hope that helps you friend!
Hey! Well it depends on the price range...Though there is now a Cintiq which is becoming the preferred choice for professionals this tablet is still very good and widely used it is still quite expensive ...I will always recommend it because it serves me really well, but as long as you can find one with a decent pressure sensitivity I think you'll be fine...hope that helps!
Thanks for the advice youngster... Maybe I'll bare it in mind after you've earned yourself a few years of experience...in the mean time thanks ever so much for wasting your valuable time watching my videos as you so readily pointed out they are virtually same thing over ...Kids today... so much time on their hands...LOL...
No kid, please don't worry You haven't spoilt my self confidence...I'm glad you have enough of your own to comment on my work...Good drawing requires a vast imagination too and I can clearly see you have a lot of that!
awh, its a great song. btw, being so into the song so much, i didnt commend you on your piece ^ great drawing. is there anyway you could upload the song onto a website for me to download from? such as zshare or megaupload? if not then not to worry, ill try and find it some other way.
lol i just read you telling somebody its track 6 on a shenmue soundtrack - which would make it ''The Sadness I Carry on my Shoulders'' - but thats not the song in the vid lol...if you could help me out with a song title, i would appriciate it alot.
Hey there...Sorry I can't help you any more...A friend of mine gave me a cd of Shenmue Orchestral tunes on it (the cutscenes) and this track was number 6. It was featured in the opening sequence of the game when Ryo witnessed his father being killed.Beyond that I'm afraid I cannot help any further...Thanks for watching anyhow!
i just bought the bamboo fun for my gf...which has pressure sensitivity (not as varied as the intuos, but im sure its adequate for her needs, as she isnt a big computer user). eitherway, i was just wondering if you could tel me the background music to this video? or send me a link to where i can find it? thanks

Thankyou kindly! You have a very good eye and identified two of the primary influences of my drawing style! :)
eubasaban 2 years ago
and oh, how'd you learn to draw those anatomy by the way?
jimmywazlb 2 years ago
Hi no I am not on Deviantart thanks for asking! I learned anatomy from doing life drawing and studying anatomy books designed for artists..focusing on the muscles that form relief on the body and the bone structure. The drawing above is based on anatomical sensibility but stylised and exaggerated in to basic shapes that would work well in hand drawn animation.

nice drawing,
i was thinking of getting into drawing again myself.
up untill a few years back i drew like a mad man, but then during middleschool i had to draw constructions with a cad program and that kinda nailed my time and love for any kind of drawing.
But ive allways been a huge anime fan so i wanna pick it up again.
So as im a newb tot computer drawing could u tell me what tablet u use or suggest?
i was thinking about smtn like the wacom Bamboo (or bamboo fun) wich cost under 100 euro.
DragonGuard1989 2 years ago
Thanks! The Bamboo fun is perfect for someone wanting to pursue a hobby its a good tablet. I must stress Its not the computer that will make you great at drawing! A sketchpad & pack of pencils are way cheaper and your still drawing! Learning anatomy,composition,shading,etc... Once you get a tablet you translate all those skills to it.Sure get a tablet have fun but it's not the most natural way to draw - you can become a natural with it but your already a natural with a pencil from the outset!
eubasaban 2 years ago
i think this is relly good!! how did you get the settings on the brush to go so smoothly? mine used to be like that and then it just went back to fat and thick, if you could help it would be very apreciated!!
:D
mrnick93 2 years ago
Thankyou kindly friend. The brush settings were the standard opacity airbrush...It is a default brush with my tablet. Sorry i can't be of any more help!

Thank you friend. Yes it is indeed! My ideal style and design influences are taken from the 1980's and weird hair was all the rage back then!

amazing i did buy a wacom intous3 and i still dont get it . i have some skill on pencils but with the wacom is a bit hard is not the same even if it looks easy on this vid ...
BTW nice pulse/control u have
paridox4ever 3 years ago
Many thanks friend!
I'm sure over time you will get the hang of it...I once Hated tablets due to my believing they lacked the control of pencil and paper...I still believe nothing can touch the old pencil and paper...but I am now also a frim believer in the Wacom tablet ;)
eubasaban 3 years ago
We're so advanced that we can draw on a computer instead of pen and paper and you're using a video camera to take a picture of the screen. Fail. Learn how to use technology.
smysnk 3 years ago
I thank you for sharing your 'advanced' knowledge with me friend. I shall cast aside my animation career and the sharing of knowledge with others and instead strive to invest my time in developing skills in video games and recording them for others to ejaculate in amazement at. Then I can truly become one of the 'we' collective you term to be advanced...You staunch intellectual youthat told me good!
eubasaban 3 years ago
Lol I think you enjoy replying to your comments a little bit too much.
Anyways it is not that hard to find an app that will record your screen to a video file. I have no idea why your talking about video games and ejaculating to them.. but what you do with your own time is none of my concern.
Also think about investing in a LCD screen instead of a CRT, they only cost $100 these days...
smysnk 3 years ago
Thank you for your council friend. As to having no idea about recording and displaying video games...then perhaps I over estimated your intellect, as clearly you are unaware of the content of your own channel. Indeed my personal business is none of your concern so it surprises me that you should bother to invest your valuable time writing comments on my page. Im sure it could be better spent playing those games you value so much and uploading them in whatever fashion suits you best.

wow you're very good. im getting a bamboo fun tablet soon (i dont know if that's the one you have) so ive just been looking up different drawings. do you have any advice for drawing? im pretty good myself, not to brag, but im nowhere near your level. once again, VERY talented you are.
frankaliiciious 3 years ago
Thanks for the endorsement friend its appreciated! My tablet is a step up from the bamboo...the intuos a4, but the bamboo is a fine tablet and not too pricey. Its good to acknowledge your strengths but important to develop your weaker areas. The best advice I can give you is to study anatomy and styles that interest you. Try to see things as shapes and work loose. Its like being careless and carefull at the same time!!! Anyway best of luck with your drawing friend and thanks again!
eubasaban 3 years ago
Wow that is so good.
You are very talented, your lines are very smooth and steady, and you worked so quickly. I am envious. (I have had one for a couple weeks)
sweetnekochan123 3 years ago
Thanks for the kind words friend! I'm sure if you keep practicing and get used to your tablet you'll become proficient at it yourself! best of luck to you :)
eubasaban 3 years ago
very nice drawing ^^, could you please tell me how to make straight lines easier? Im new to drawing, and to be honest i got no idea where to even start, but the lines i draw look very shivery and ruin the drawing =/
NoLimits3000 3 years ago
Hi thanks for the kind comment! The best advice I can suggest to you is to not try so hard - be loose and free with your lines...soon you will gain confidence in your strokes. it takes time but just like weight training for example...the muscles grow with regular training! so just keep practicing and having fun....the more you beat yourself up about your work and over concentrate the slower your progress shall be. Thanks for asking and good luck!
eubasaban 3 years ago
Yeah what Eubasaban said is very true :) if you think, omdays this is so crappy i can't get anywhere! then u will improve slowly. but if u just work litterally like a kid just scribbling, and if u start maybe 10-20 mins a day ur improvement will be amazing. also observe anatomy too if you can. one thing for me was i was always like 'is this the right way to do it?' dw bout that just scribble scribble :) refinement is for later. put a piece of paper over top nd clean it if u want.
good luck!

clym3danimator 3 years ago
Hey no need to appologise man. It's great to see your confdence growing and to think my little scribbles helped! That is what Youtube is all about for me my friend...Its so satisfying to see artists getting more confident in them selves keep up the great work ;)

hey, i think the quality would be mnuch more better if you found a desktop recorder .. sorta like the other photoshop artists.. amazing 5/5

that is a stupid hobby thing to be good at. wouldnt you rather use your talent for something worthwhile. you losers waste your time. these take ages to get used to
JozeyHall 3 years ago
I thank you for taking the time to comment on my video and acknowledging I have some talent. As to weather I am a looser or not that is entirely subjective and if you believe that working on Hollywood movies is being looser then that is your right and I respect that. Thanks again for investing your time in my 4-minute video!

These things take a total of about 5 minutes to get used to :/ I just got one yesterday, already drawing.

Congratulations for your work.
I want a wacom bamboo fun to!!
Is it easy to use??
hehehe, sorry if my english is bad, but I speak spanish =P I hope you can understand me.
Bacitakarla 3 years ago
Have fun!
eubasaban 3 years ago
Just tried my hands at a tablet for the first time in my life :D
it's fine as a mouse, no prob on that, but sometimes I just can't draw a straight/accurate line and had to scrub that whole area out, maybe I'm still not confident in using the tablet?
Is it going to wear off if I get more practice? And what size is your bamboo fun? (just curious)
xuci111111 3 years ago
Hi!
Patience!!! :)

Whoa man , I love your work ...
Could you give me some tips on drawing ?
I realy wanna draw something nice, but I keep failing :)
flediX 3 years ago
Hey thanks for the kind words!

Hi, nice vid. but what animation company are you working for?
joekommovies 3 years ago
Hey thanks for the comment!
I am a freelancer based in the UK...I have worked on adverts, tv shows (BBC) I also done a couple of movies - my most recent being the "Tale of Despereaux" for Universal... I was a story board artist on that one...Thanks for the interest!
eubasaban 3 years ago
for universal, thats cool, i dont think i have seen that "Tale of Despereaux", so i'll look for it, (must be so cool to be in a movie's story board) thanks

eubasaban 3 years ago
hi i guess by te looks of this u are a good artist i was wojndering if it would be worth it to buy a cintiq 12wx im 13 and i want to become a graphics designer what tablet do u use and umm..
should i geta cintiq ??
Gaia287 3 years ago
Hey there!
For me its the artist and not the tools...
eubasaban 3 years ago
thx a mill!!
Gaia287 3 years ago
awsome sketch, i just got a tablet and am getting used to it, any hints on sketching with a tablet?
avatarfan22122 3 years ago
Hey thanks for the comment!
Well there is no better hint then to keep practicing and find whatever way you feel comfortable with... Using and opacity brush with soft and hard pressure will help you define strokes and working with different layers is a good way to develop but ultimately it is how you as an artist work...pretty soon you will use it just as paper and pen and apply your own trademark tricks best of luck and have fun!
eubasaban 3 years ago
thanks alot :]

Hey, great drawing! May I ask you which wacom tablet are you using and how many dpi does it have?
IngJure 3 years ago
Hi there! Thanks for the thumbs up! My tablet is the intuos .3 a4 size Wacom tablet... The dpi is 5,080 and pressure sensitivity level is 1,024...Hope that helps you friend!
eubasaban 3 years ago
would you recomand this tablet?or shoud i get other one?
DraGGos 3 years ago

Hey there...Sorry I can't help you any more...A friend of mine gave me a cd of Shenmue Orchestral tunes on it (the cutscenes) and this track was number 6.
