Would you mind telling me which microphone you use please? It's wonderfully clear.
I am an INTP, and I tend to view things in terms of frameworks. I think that most skills and understandings can be transferred to other areas. That said, it takes 10,000 hours to become completely polished in any area. There are many egs I can think of - languages and instruments are comparable - where I don't have the degree of obsession to become polished. I also experience the done-in-head scenario a lot.
@eskimomoful Hi, thanks for your comment. I like frameworks as well, with the composition of essays or the analyses of people and situations. They are imperfect, but help to clarify and allow further exploration. The microphone is a Blue Yeti.
YES! So much yes! I'm still in school and recently I have been having the craving to learn more and more. I've been learning things much farther into my class courses much quicker than the class actually goes. This means that EVERY piece of homework I must do is more boring than the last because I already understand it! It got to the point where just three days ago I got into drawing and shading. I'm decent at it (without getting help from an outside resource) but I'm already bored of it.
I am an INTP I face the same problems especially with essays that I have to write. I can't tell you the number of time I almost fail a class because of the essays I had to write. Its like I can see the paper in my head, its thorough and well written, and I can see myself getting an A or B on it, but to actually write it down that is the hard part. Also people ask me what do you like to do, I like to do a lot of things. I may not be particullarly good at it but at least I can do it.
I am intp and I have the same exact problem when it comes to doing assignments, particularly essays. I always start off very interested in the topic that I choose and then after researching and analyzing all angles of the topics I completely loose interest in actually writting the essay. I attribute this lack of interest in actually doing the assignment to my realization that I am satisfied with my comprehensive understanding of the subject, and the mundane action of transfering thought to paper
Great see your latest video! I have trouble with "following through" or closure. I have half-finished paintings all over my house. Sketches for paintings that will never be done are in piles atop other piles of sketches. I am truly crest-fallen when I look through an art history book and see how many portraits Titian painted, and that does not include all his Biblical paintings and historical paintings. I am a published art historian which sort of makes up for my "failure" as an artist.
I'm ENTJ with soft E and J so I look INTP and I can relate to what you are saying. I have many interests and dabble in this and that, but can't really say I'm a master of any. Taking up dance helped me develop my Sensing side as did Yoga because of mindful awareness and being present in the now...not getting caught up in the thoughts of my head and simply focusing on simple things like touch, sound, what I see. We can develop more of our inferior senses. I gotta work on the Feeler soooo bad.
If cars weren't invented yet, I would dream up the idea of a car with an engine and all that. But i might not be totally sure yet how the engine could work. So i jump on that and figure it out. Then i get the engine working on a test bench and say, hey! It works! This car thing is going to be awesome! But then once i reached that point i get incredibly bored with it, and never finish it.
@Gogargoat Can you imagine the potential in INTPs? We each need to find a J type personality who will be able to action our ideas... or push ourselves to try.
Being introverted thinkers, we prefer to go away and think about something rather than provide an immediate conclusion. Assignments used to be a nightmare for me as, like you, I'd know exactly what I wanted to say but I would always struggle to get it across how i'm thinking.I think this is an INTP thing. I would also end up going completely off topic in my research, as one thing will lead to another and i'd spend hours reading up on something irrelevant .I definitely live inside my own head :-)
@ike01213 Great summation! At work, we had to complete a workbook that was to be marked by our manager. I finished it and stored it in my locker, where it lay forgotten for months. My manager brought it up and I told him I'd finished it ages ago, and he looked at me like, "Why the hell didn't you just hand it in??" I didn't have an answer for my behavior at that time, but this explains it a lot. I don't need my boss to mark it; I'm happy with the answers I got!
Yes, I am exactly the same. I can do photography, photoshop, some video editing, draw very good, but I am not an artist, and I make lots of music based on guitar and although I am very happy with my music, my playing is just enough to get by... And I am fine with it. Also read books and when I get the idea I stop. ... Haha.... So solution for me is when in that moment the interest has me, must write or record etc before its gone.

Have a nice Christmas. It must be warm down there in Australia this time of year.

@9nesteg Thank you. Yes, it is a little warm here, but it has been a lot hotter in past years. Have a happy and safe Christmas yourself.

@bonafidesupercrazy Haha this is so true. I'm an INTJ who needs an INTP to find the technical flaws in my ideas.

great vid. Your points on VR have a lot to do with Ti - we set internal standards and thus require no external validation to affirm our thoughts.
