Jason's lyrics are as beautiful and moving as ever, and his voice still makes you feel the same way. So yes, it's upsetting that they're not together anymore. But it's time to move on, and start loving Mayday Parade, Go Radio, or both.

@cahtopher To answer your question in as little words as possible, Jason Lancaster was the second vocalist on A Lesson In Romantics. Derek was the 'lead' and Jason was basically a 'second lead' as well as guitar. Jason left the band a week before the album released, therefore the drummer and bassist lip sync his parts in the videos for Jamie All Over (bassist lip sync) and Miserable At Best (drummer lip sync). Hopefully that explains it to you :)

Jason lancaster and Jake Bundrick (Whom I Used to play Halo 2,3 with him and his bro..good times) had a band together before Mayday Parade and Go Radio and those bands were called: Kid named chigago and The Last Try. Jasons bro Daniel was in it as well. They did Cali all Over (Jamie all over) together look em up on pure Volume they pwn! Anyways Mayday really lost a powerful part of the band. wow.... just watching this... you can seriously TELL who wrote this song... its like derick is just doing his job, JASON on the other hand is singing this song from the bottom of his heart... which is how he sings EVERY TIME his performs. These two are an unstoppable pair vocaly, seperate good, together.... fucking perfection

@cahtopher To answer your question in as little words as possible, Jason Lancaster was the second vocalist on A Lesson In Romantics. Derek was the 'lead' and Jason was basically a 'second lead' as well as guitar. Jason left the band a week before the album released, therefore the drummer and bassist lip sync his parts in the videos for Jamie All Over (bassist lip sync) and Miserable At Best (drummer lip sync). Hopefully that explains it to you :)

Some info you guys may not know. Jason lancaster and Jake Bundrick (Whom I Used to play Halo 2,3 with him and his bro..good times) had a band together before Mayday Parade and Go Radio and those bands were called: Kid named chigago and The Last Try. Jasons bro Daniel was in it as well. They did Cali all Over (Jamie all over) together look em up on pure Volume they pwn! Anyways Mayday really lost a powerful part of the band. LOL once Jake told me Jason left i thought to myself Uh Oh!

I still love Mayday Parade, Jason contributed a lot to the band.
I like Go Radio a lot too, but theres some songs that i feel would be made perfect with Dereks voice.
Honestly, i feel that Derek & Jason's voices just just meshed perfectly, and even out, which made old Mayday so amazing.

I think new mayday is bettr then defining moment, theyve definately grown, and developed musically, derek didnt sound good at all in defining moment (from the song a lesson in romantics) thats the only song i heard so forgiv me for any mistakes =p

Hey guys, don't think that Derek's a bad writer. He's just a sell out. If you listen to Derek's band before Mayday Parade, Defining Moment, the music was GREAT, and Jason was not in that band. I think they just wanted to be more generic pop shit to get more 14 year old girls to love them with their new album.

The lyrics are very unoriginal and uncreative; hell I can write better lyrics. There are a FEW good songs on the cd, but nothing like their EP and last CD. I am a huge fan of MP and know all of their music and all about their story and Jason leaving. I'm just disapointed with their most recent CD.

I still love mayday parade and like a few songs on ABH but it sounds too much like EVERYONE else. I can say good things. I think Derek is a GREAT singer. And I think he has writing talent, but decided to try and appeal to the mainstream crowd on this cd, which is sad. Jason has great lyrics and amazing guitar, thats whats so great. Not just catchy. Besides, Jason fucking sucked at writing when he first started in KNC, but he matured. Derek might do the same. And even still, I think he's already just as good of a writer. Obviously you dont listen to the lyrics if you think old mayday is always poppy and fun lol and Go radio is great but listen to go radio and mayday now and tell me who had the most influence on old mayday lol his melodies were a huge part of the bands feel. i dont think we are dwelling on the past but just looking at what they had and what they let go.. the age of the video has nothing to do of what is being argued..
I still love mayday so its whatever everyone has their opinion.

They had a signature sound when jason was in the band... they had those powerful driving vocals from jason that derek doesnt have... Now they just have derek and they lost that special sound they had... I still love mayday but their sound isnt and will never be the same without jason lancaster. I agree they are a lot more generic now..
