A corrupt government that we are still dealing with 40 years later propagandized a bunch of confused and misled young national guardsmen to shoot their fellow patriots. It's the most tragic kind of friendly fire. We can never let them do it to us again. weed need accuracy and truth in media laws that punish people that deliberately defraud their audience with propaganda for finacial gain. Make companies that hire reporters execise due dilligence in their reporting. Fox News would be gone.

You guys all know Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders was there on the campus when this happened and witnessed it all from a dorm window. She said the National Guard seemed to be retreating but then they marched up a hill, stopped, turned around and fired into the crowd. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!

Vietnam was a confusing war in a confusing era, Kent State is a prime example of an event that never should've happened to begin with. Had the protestors decided not to riot in the streets on May 1st and tourch the ROTC bulding on the 2nd the Guard would never have been called to the campus to begin with. As for the Guard the officers should've checked to make sure no one had live ammunition, and the guard unit that fired on the protesters should've been court-martialed

The National Guard unfortunatly shot the wrong people. They didnt want to hurt anyone thats why they shot over the protesters heads. That of course was a mistake. @THEBURNINGTIGERS The Guard retreated in an effort to not have a violent confrontation and the protestors followed them with continual bombardment of debris. Do you not think a rock can hurt or kill? And they were protesting something I believed in. Nobody really wanted us to be in Vietnam. Its just that some of us decided to be adult in our protests. All these protestors accomplished is getting people killed and they should be held accountable.

If they did that to my property, I would have had a legal right to shoot and kill.

To free himself, he cut off his right arm.

He lost half his blood.

How did he do the impossible?

Doctors then realized he had replace his own lost blood by drinking his urine for 6 days.

In a crisis like Haiti, if people knew they have this backup source of safe water in their bladder, then people would not die from a lack of water.

The burning of this ROTC Building scheduled for demolition caused the governor of Ohio a Republican Right Wing Lunatic to call out the National Guard. As students went to class that following morning they saw armed guardsman with tanks. Their campus was turned into a military installation. The guard was so out of control they placed a gun on an unarmed student they shot and killed. For a nation that preaches human rights to a world we had martial law at Kent. Never forget Kent State.

It is liberation because America never takes the spoils of war - we re-build (i.e. Japan, Germany, eastern Europe, western Europe etc.) You would be happy with Mao, Stalin, Hitler. Fidel or any run of the mill dictator - so long as they hate America. As for the facist state you really do not know what you talking about. People come to this country legally and illegally to be part of it. Don't see too many people going the other way - unless you want to then enjoy the trip.

Guess they should have ducked and weaved. Protestors - no traiters and communist supporters who are still in the faculty at Kent State. Bullets were a fitting response to the "students" there and should have been used on other campuses. SDS, John Kerrys, Hanoi Jane - they never got the true pain they deserved - and they contributed to a lot of guys dieing in Viet Nam.
