OKAY, to clear all this up, that is me, and that is my 02 imola red 6 speed e46 M3, This movie was takin by some kid at my tech school leavin for lunch in his 04 cobra, he claimed 450 wheel, which was some bullshit, and in that car it was 331 to the wheels dynod previously a month before the video, headers,sharktune, intake, straight pipes and some others i forget bc i don't own that car anymore. now have an 08 stage 3 + 335i. Besides the point the first run there you guys all see, was bullshit
if you couldnt tell i was only cruisin' at 25mph in 3rd gear when he took off in 2nd then you should keep watchin the video because he DID take off in 2nd without me even being ready, so i just hit it in 3rd at 25-30mph and it was STILL a close run, don't get me wrong i know those cobra are quick in a straight line if they can hook, but this kid couldn't drive, BC the 2ND run was both of us in 2nd taking off at the same time. i know he let off right away the 2nd time bc i was

Not quite. 03-04 Cobras were right around 30k new with no mark ups, convertibles were even more. Not only that, but you can easily find these M3s for the same price as these Cobras now. It is funny that the M3 lost over half it's value and the Cobras still go for the same price they did back in 05.
@ralatorre9 No brainer for me as well. Bolt ons and tune, 500rwhp for maybe $1500. No BMW tax on mods or parts. I like M3s, but not enough to justify the choice of an E46 M3 over an 03-04 Cobra. Or even a 96-98 Cobra, for that matter.
@thuglife4ever721 the terminators were underrated from the factory many producing 390 hp at the wheels with nothing more than an CAI and tune, plus the bmw's run higher compression ratios and different sized valves etc. take the N/A dohc ford engine throw some cams intake and tune and it's equal with the bmw in hp and greater in torque, and yes that is upgrading a car that is MUCH cheaper than the bmw, and i LOVE both cobra's and M3's but they're 2 different beasts

I've seen cobras with the 4.6L smallblock v8 well over 600 horse. and if they engine swap to the GT500 5.4L they can get well over 800 with just a thousand bucks worth of mods

But all of you need to look at the specs. I'm guuessing this was the 2004 Cobra? and 04 M3.
Mustang: 4.6L V8 engine, 390hp, 390 ft lbs of torque.
M3: 3.2L I6, 333hp, 270 ft lbs of torque.
The mustang needs 1.5L more than the M3 AND 2 extra cyclinders more to come up with 390. BMW needs just 3.2L and a straight 6 to come up with 333.

@thuglife4ever721 yea but look at the torque numbers 1.5L more and 120 more pounds of torque which is alot and im sure you know that torque wins races and horsepower sells cars, the mustang uses a small v8 compared to other american cars its torquey which is good for the 1/4 mile drag strip and thats all americans do, but if you want to argue horsepower per liter and light weight then research the rx7 and s2000 and both are also very well balanced cars for awesome handling and have the m3 beat

Not quite. 03-04 Cobras were right around 30k new with no mark ups, convertibles were even more. Not only that, but you can easily find these M3s for the same price as these Cobras now. It is funny that the M3 lost over half it's value and the Cobras still go for the same price they did back in 05.

@ralatorre9 No brainer for me as well. Bolt ons and tune, 500rwhp for maybe $1500. No BMW tax on mods or parts. I like M3s, but not enough to justify the choice of an E46 M3 over an 03-04 Cobra. Or even a 96-98 Cobra, for that matter.

@thuglife4ever721 the terminators were underrated from the factory many producing 390 hp at the wheels with nothing more than an CAI and tune, plus the bmw's run higher compression ratios and different sized valves etc. take the N/A dohc ford engine throw some cams intake and tune and it's equal with the bmw in hp and greater in torque, and yes that is upgrading a car that is MUCH cheaper than the bmw, and i LOVE both cobra's and M3's but they're 2 different beasts

@thuglife4ever721 Do you realize ford sells mustangs as a base? They give you plenty of room and possibility to upgrade and tune. I've seen cobras with the 4.6L smallblock v8 well over 600 horse. and if they engine swap to the GT500 5.4L they can get well over 800 with just a thousand bucks worth of mods

So a 4.6L vs a 3.2 ? I'm not a big fan of mustangs, I know their fast but don't cobra come stock supercharged and are a 4.6 liter or 5.0 ? I dunno 100 % But my friends is 4.6. I don't think that up against a 3.2 stock m3 is completely fair. But ok the bmw lost obviously.

So funny, you all are idiots, the first pull was a race, cobra had him then let off due to a car in front of him, second acceleration of the bmw was just the idiot flying off on unsafe traffic streets, the cobra beat him and still would have if they raced again. @enine2007 If youre going for all out speed. I think the cobra is one of the best cars for going fast. Tons of potential. But.... They still dont handle like an M3, have the interior of an M3, the build quality or the overall fit and finish in my opinion. I'd love an M3 sedan and terminator cobra convertible.

@MangoSmoothie16 ok what car are you referring as the "cobra" the original svt cobra or the shelby? because the video is about a cobra and you mentioned shelby. so which is it? handle? have you taken a look at the new gt500 or boss 302? your m3 lost to a BOSS. interior? who cares all i need is a seat and a steering wheel. overall build quality? all bmw does is smack an i 6 into a chasis and there. ford does the same. its all in the suspension work etc. either way ford is kicking its ass

I do. The M3 has a 4.2 V8 actually yet it still gives the same hp as a 5.0 coyote. Imagine that. almost a liter smaller yet the same hp. The Ford is faster but it isn't better in my eyes.

@57swifty75 No, they said it was more fun to drive. The mustang was soft and couldnt keep up with the weight transfer. It is not better handling. The BMW didnt slide all over the place. Less brake dive. More accuracy. "Try that in the Mustang and you'll be off the track" No sense of roll. Much better sense of turn in control. Better shock control. It was more refined.

The boss can just shit on it down the straight so it has a quicker lap time. not that difficult of a concept to understand.
