  • It's loosely based on the Baudelaire work...It has been 're-mastered'...it's about how a love for someone can suddenly turn due to one stupid moment where you see that person in a whole different light and then realise just how little you really know that person...and how the relationship is based on very little.... perhaps looks alone....so how beautiful 'she' is on the outside is not echoed within....

  • Such an underrated album, better than Disintegration if you ask me.

  • @WhoColor Kiss me Kiss me Kiss me was THE (double) album as far as I'm concerned.

  • I like the mystery is also about love. it's like looking for treasure. and it keeps forever.... :) i like this song! great!

  • @retrodarth

Covering WTF? It is a song ORIGINAL from The Cure!

  • @sasukechidoriptx Actually no, it's a poem from Baudelaire. The cure made it song (and changed it a little bit9 but it's great in both cases!

  • The Cure covering Baudelaire's "Les yeux des pauvres". Great!

  • the kiss me album will always be one of my favorite albums of all time

  • Baudelaire on the air. Great! Robert

  • :] LOVE THIS SONG ♥♥♥♥♥ favorited/5 stars!! Kiss Me x 3 ROCKS!!!

  • i love this song i remenber when i played this tack on tape (1987) the cureeeeee¡¡¡

  • Same to Me!Old good memories&it was more than 20 years ago unbelievable!

  • I heard this song on NPR radio during the broadcast of Marketplace. Kykle Ryssyn( the host) played this song right after, he did the numbers. He talked about how well wallstrett had done that day. He said" The DJI bounced today 700 points, the NASDA was up 400 points and the S&P 500 was also up 400".

  • This song, even though its not really all that special, has always been my favorite Cure song. dissipoints me that that the lyrics were (inspired) by Baudelaire's The Eyes of the Poor and not the artists idea. oh well, i will have to find a way to cope

  • Yes, I also think as you. This song was not a hit from this album, but was one that I enjoyed listening and playing on my guitar when I was 16 y/o.

  • There are three versions of this song

  • discovering the cure was like getting born again....

  • I'm in love with this band<3.

  • Hey please tell me where I can get this version

  • Download "RealPlayer" from the net, and when you play this clip, it will show "download this clip" button. :D

  • @Alienacionglobal Try a record fair. I think this was the limited edition LP/EP. (sorry I'm not a record geek so I don't know). I only know that I had this as a B side of ummm... something. Don't ask me about the 80's and 90's. All kind of a blur.

  • @dwynnell it's available on double CD...I have both the original vinyl and the re-released CD...the CD is available on play dot com

  • yes tell us fucking pussy!

  • tell us , tell us!

  • yes where did you get this version? Is very cool!!

  • Where did you get this remastered version?

Please tell me where I can get this song!

I definitely won't buy the original album for one song!

  • The clue is in the picture ;)

  • The Cure when they were still good!

  • Wonderfully composed music with deep thought provoking lyrics. Music like this reminds us that music is art. When it's made by artists like The Cure.

  • sorry...Baudelaire

  • Ugly idiot, you are a pussy!

  • Hey shutup. If you don't like the Cure that's your problem. But just shut your bid fat-ass mouth. And for one thing Robert Smith isn't a vagina.

  • GRANDISSIMI

  • GRANDISSIMI

  • this is how cure are so beautiful

    im a fan

    a fan for twueiti years

    long live cure

  • Viva la The Cure;)

  • As Bret Easton Ellis said everything in our modern world culture is judged surface level.

  • Yes, this beautiful song is based on the poem The eyes of the poor.

  • The Cure & Baudelaire rlz :D

  • Bass reminds me of New Order.

  • Just a small example how versital and amazing they are. Such a great lyricist and musician.

  • Ive listened to this song a few more times. This is a explosive ,upbeat and versatile song that shows why it should be hailed by all old school Cure followers. The violin and organ is extreme.

  • This so good it almost could make to the b-sides.

  • love it! fucking love it!

  • yes. this song is bad ass. everytime i hear i recall one particular person, who although very beautiful, is really not.

  • truth

  • @19mike71 I did initially think that myself too as I am a massive Iron Maiden and metal fan. I have quite a few Cure albums now and I love them all :D

  • Very, very Cure!

    Baudelaire and Paris.

Great evenings in alternative joints listening to good music, drinking, smoking, talking the minimum necessary because the music talks for you!

  • pictures of you is a song u can sing and havr a girl fall in love with you

  • what beautiful song. robert smith is a genius

  • Beautiful and nostalgic sound, simple great.

  • for everyone to know the lyrics from this song especially and album is largely inspired by the spleen de Paris from Charles Beaudelaire !!Rediscovering The Cure after i heard just like heaven at the end of a movy : cant believe just how great they are

  • hay me encanta este tema!!

    un amor!!

  • my favorite song of all time. the saddest song ever recorded. i cannot hear it with bawling.

  • This is the most tragic song on the whole album. Some of the other songs have a tragic sound, but the lyrics to this song, "no one ever know or loves another" is the most tragic--the horror of the existential moment--so very French!

  • That no-one ever knows or loves another

Or loves another - How true, isn't it?

Love this song. But it's a pity that it has no video.

  • <3!

Robert really knows what he writes!

    :D

  • The fathers eyes said "Beautiful! How beautiful you are!" The boys eyes said "How beautiful! She glitters like a star!" The child's eyes uttered joy And stilled my heart with sadness For the way we are And this is why I hate you And how I understand That no-one ever knows or loves another Or loves another
  • excelente aporte : )

  • My favorite all-time Cure song!

  • LOVE THIS SONG! <3

  • best of The Cure.. makes me cry.. makes me dream so many things..

  • I remember reading something at the time when this song was released that Robert was inspired by a French writer...

  • Yes this song is Robert's intepretation of The eyes of the Poor(1864) from Charles Baudelaire, french poet. You should read it!

Gorgeous song for a great poem...

  • I've read the poem now, and I wouldn't say Robert's lyrics are an interpretation, he has basically just copied and compressed a lot of it into a song, hmmm...Still, Robert made up the lovely melody. Kudos for that.

  • Yes sorry my english isnt perfect interpretation in french just means "singing it"(not REinterpreting) and yes robert did it lovely, one of my favorite cure song!take care

  • You want to know why I hate you?

    Well I'll try and explain....

What a premise for a song & story!

  • was this isnspired by "eyes of the poor" by sum1 or other. (ancase u dnt no its a short story not a song ^^ there are alot of simularities
