  • simplicity and emotions at its best

  • ultimate song

  • I cried..!

  • HOMAGE TO SALIL CHUDHURY ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY THEY WERE SWEET MELODY WITH SWEET LYRIC

  • I believe there were only 2 songs in this film RAJNIGANDHA AND BOTH WERE EXCELLENT. One of the finest compositions from Salil Da and melodiously song by Mukeshji.

  • One of the finest compositions by Salilji and melodiously sung by Mukeshji

  • Mukeshji was often accused of having a nasal 'straight line' voice which did not admit of variations in pitch or melody. In my opinion that was his strength. It was up to the director to give him the right type of song. This song is a glorious example of his strength.

  • Classic composition of Salil Da.. complimented by greatness of Mukeshjji...

  • nice one . . .

  • For the affluent and affordable class you had 2 choices of cars - Ambassador or Premier Padmini. Colour mostly white!!! All Mumbai Taxis were Premier!! Parking could be managed at Dadar TT circle and Flora Fountain. Remember taking a 385 BEST bus from Dadar TT to Ghatkopar in 20 mins flat. No stops between Sion and Amar Mahal (Chembur) as it was all marshy land with Everard Nagar sprouting! And not too long ago - mid 70s

  • @pav2007 Yes... I did the same route in the late 80s and it was still the same. Except the smell of RCF and dead fish from the marshes. What a mess we have made with our population. And now, with the "growth", we have found a new way to be proud of it too.

  • @pav2007

aapne to pitaji ke dino ki yaad dila di....my father was posted in mumbai in early 70's

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • I have not even seen this era in Mumbai, I was born in 1988, even then these movies by Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee create the strongest bouts of nostalgia I have known, perhaps it is because my parents belonged to this era and I was exposed to these movies as a small child, that I feel I have lived it. This movie and Rajnigandha are my favorites.

  • @vjkamblay Its not even funny......the way you think n talk n feel just like me. :)

I was born in 1986 and connect with all this so well.

  • @vjkamblay This movie IS Rajnigandha!

  • Missing Bombay.. :(

A less crowded and congested version of Mumbai..

  • @bipinkrish agree with u

  • the late salil da was a gifted music composer whose musical compositions were divine.

  • salil da soulful music is heavenly

    he still lives

  • nice song ..

  • Amazing lyrics and composing

  • Mukesh earned every bit of this one 1974 National Award - Kai Baar Yun Bhi Dekha Hai (Rajnigandha) - Background Song

  • nice song

  • Thanks for posting this

  • thanks a loot for this lovely song

  • lovely song

  • wht a song, grt composition, salil da is a bengali's asset

  • ADORABLE SONG..GR8 MOVIE..

  • My fav. song of all time!

  • Undoubtedly a graet composer. His songs had a harmony which was very unique. Western classical music style adapted in Indian style. He also introduced the genre of protest songs in Bengali. Kudos

  • Salil Da is the greatest composer of the world

  • @raveya98 i agree with you -salil sahab was a great , great composer but his work and reputation suffered as it lacked variety - how and why ? he couldn't look beyond lata mangeshkarand -her singing is great, truly so, but lacks variety.

  • @shahidaly1 With respect, I have to disagree with you. Characteristic feature of Salil Choudhuri's compositions are their unpredictability; as if there is a new sweet surprise awaiting the listener at the next corner, so there is a great deal of variety in every sense. From his early days to the late there are varieties of types of music he has created. He used LM simply as she could bring out the best of his creations in some whilst used others according to type of music he created.

  • This song is remake of bengali song sang by Lata mangeskar -Aami-Cholte-Cholte-Theme-Geyechi

  • @rsatyajit77

This song is not a remake of Lata's bengali song - rather it is the other way.

In 1972, Pintu Bhattcharya first recorded this great song in Bengali as part of Puja album from HMV. At the same time or some time later Salil da used same tune for "Rajanigandha" hindi movie and Mukesh was the singer.

After many years gone, in 1988 Lata recorded this song again as her "Puja Album" from HMV - though the lyrics of Pintu's song and Lata's song was slightly different.

  • It's one among all the gems Salil da has produced...

  • Super song! Definitely one of the finest from Mukesh! Thnx for uploading!
