I do hope he hasn't "matured" out of it yet... I enjoy the white stripes music and the upholsters music over the raconteurs and what I have heard from the dead weather... not saying I don't like the two raconteurs albums I own... but I still prefer the raw power of the white stripes over this newer stuff.

maybe meg is busy too sometimes life happens..isnt she getting married? maybe she is just spending happy times with fiance

i wonder if they have the same energy to tour again as the white stripes, but then again they did in 2007...

im sure they will put out the album, in the meantime, something new

There never was a new Stripes album. I also heard that from their Wikipedia page, but their sources didn't check out. I consider the stripes to be disbanded for now. Dead Weather are touring this summer, but they haven't released all the dates yet. I have tix to their show in Louisville, KY!! But on the Stripes, they're pretty much done. Jack has matured beyond that style.

Thats true. I went to their show in Myrtle Beach in July 07. The local music paper had a write-up on them and the new Icky Thump album. On the opposite page was an article titled "Meg White: Drummer or Bummer?" It's publicity like that that likley pushed her over the edge.

Awesome choice of song - I love The Black Keys! I totally agree...there definitely needs to be another Stripes album released this year. I read that it's already written just not finished being recorded. If anyone can handle multitask ing though, it's JW.

Not sure about the new stripes album, I'd very much like for that to come out. That being said I'm very excited about this new band, sounds like a much sluzzier and bluesier raconteurs which should be excellent. But I do miss the stripes

I would love to believe that all this is true, it is hard to tell with the stripes. I heard sometime in 2009 there will be a new cd, but then Jack doesn't like to be predictable...I agree with the "be patient and see" comment. Supposedly the dead weather will tour this summer.

the new white stripes album is still on track and it is still coming out this summer the white stripes will probably not be touring for a while tho

I would recommend you all check out the little room message board. Theres whole lots of news on there. such as the article where it says that they're finally releasing the 10th anniversary DVD and they'll prolly have a new album next year!

i am just as anxious to get some new white stripes in my life. I have heard depressing comments about how their performance on conan's last show was also the band's last. NOOOO! I have only heard speculation that the WS would do something in 2009 but I am not going to get my hopes up. THOUGH - at the rate Jack's projects go he can probably do this album and still get a WS one out this year too...for now i am digging these guys but i would probably love anything Jack worked on - even Raffi :)

I think its cool how you put black keys to the subject of the dead weather. I am sick of people saying "white stripes are better" or "black keys are better".

I think Jack even gaves us hints to him being on drums (Last show of Late Night with Conan O'Brien Meg played guitar instead, showing maybe Jack might go back to drums some way)

They WILL tour starting in June!!!

Also, If you look at The White Stripes discography, the first three albums came out every year. Then the last three came out every two years.........so it's possible the next three come out every three.....hopefully not.

I really like the new band just from the 2 songs they've released, but I'm waiting to hear an album before I make my final judgement. I know how you feel. I like the Raconteurs, but I was happy to hear they were done touring, because that meant the Stripes were back together making music. They "exist", but they aren't active. I'm mixed.

Well here's what's been happening. Jack went to LA to see Meg and go to the Grammies. Then they went to New York for Conan then they went to Nashville after that. They've been around each other for the past month a lot. So that's how much time they had plan.

1. WS album has been slated for "probably" next year; IF they ever tour again, it won't be until then.

2. Dead Weather will tour this summer after The Kills finish their tour in May. Album due out in June.

Jack said his #1 priority was to finish the CD (The Stripes), i just heard, but I figure they'll release it and CONTINUE with a tour next year IF they tour

Well they hadn't gone to a studio to finish recording the album. Also, Ian Montone, their manager said the 7th album should come out net year.
