And since in Homecoming, it spread to Shepards Glenn because of a ritual going wrong, I can apply it to that. I feel that youre really just being a diehard fan of the original 4, and you need to widen your options. I did. Its so much better that way. :)

@UDontTakeMeSeriously The otherworld is as real as the real world in Silent hill. I think that the otherworld only appear in 1-3-4 because of the sacrifice of alessa and walter. That made it possible for people to get drawn into the otherworld because of alessas/heathers involvement in 1-3 and Walters in 4. (i dont count Homecoming because that game sucked and has nothing to with the franchise!!! ;) )
If I remember correctly, playing Silent Hill 1-3 when i was younger, I spent most of my gameplay hiding in corners and barely moving, the atmosphere was just....freaky as shit

Im in the process of playing silent hill the room. So far its good n creepy but I feel that it should have jus been called "The Room" its feels the least like a silent hill game and I have played them all.

I've been a fan since the beginning. This game looks really good, but it doesn't offer that insanely creepy feeling you get in the back of your mind like Silent Hill 1, 2, and 3 gave you. Silent Hill will never die.
@EasilyDistractedMan i read some articles about people who played it. we cant see it since we're not playing, but its there. sounds that are just there to scare you with nothing there, gradual build ups of creepy scenes that'll haunt you after you leave, its all there.

Well it is a Japanese game but they made them white because Silent Hill is in West Virginia which is in the US so they wanted to match it all with the feeling, characters, references, etc. But they have got more advanced and it's good to see. I have Ben collecting and studying Silent Hill forever so I wish they weren't $65 dollar game. But yeah you just have to really get into it, alone, dark, and think.
Silent Hill is really a survival horror game. I was playing the other day Silent Hill Homecoming and it is pure horror and tension gameplay all the time. Resident Evil is way to far now to be a real survivial horror game anymore. So for anyone looking for a true survivial horror experience, you must take Silient Hill series without hesitation.
@edsedlavzelaznog ever since Homecoming, Silent Hill hasn't really been scary anymore. I mean there may have been a few startles here and there from something jumping out at you, but that phycological fear is long gone. And survival horror? Losely. Lose the hand to hand/melee combat skills and counters; then we'll talk.
@JamesKravenwolf Yes, you are right about the melee combat scheme, however for me it is creepy and thrilling. I also believe that this new game "Downpour" will be a lot better than Homecoming, since it seems to have a huge world to explore and more misterious characters as well.
The hell world was never creepy when it instantly looked like hell. It was the progression to that that made it creepy. You are dragged into hell, not plopped there by a magic scenery change.

This game looked like it had some promise to it, then they came out with a trailer using a Korn song.... Now it feels like they are pretty much taking everything Team Silent did and throwing it out there fancy 22 story building and saying "Now what can we do to make us more money?" call me out if I'm wrong, but at least.... AT LEAST use your NEW composer to make the trailers. So you don't scare the shit out of the long time fans before the game even comes out. Is that really too much to ask????
Honestly, i liked origins, and shattered memories. I also LOVED homecoming. My expectations for this game are really high. Only thing im not excited for is the breakable weapons. Never has been my thing.
Downpour as a chance to be the best Silent Hill in the series, it will all depend on the story, because for rest, the atmosphere seems to be there, Graphics are better, sound is better, the controls are better. And we got side quests. Im a huge fan of Daniel Licht, i trust he will deliver with the soundtracks. I just hope the story is as good as Silent Hill 1-2
What kind of people would go through Silent Hill on the route to a prison? Seriously, if people actually had brains, there wouldn't be 7 game installments... Then again, my life would be a whole lot more boring...

so...their calling this one silent hill? ...THAT'S IT? well how the fuck are people in the future going to be able to tell the difference between this one and the first silent hill game, or am I missing something. Also I noticed a very stupid sound effect they put in, near the end of the trailer whoever the prisoner is that the video focuses around, when he wakes up from his dream it sounds like someone shot an arrow. what the fuck!?

Well it is a Japanese game but they made them white because Silent Hill is in West Virginia which is in the US so they wanted to match it all with the feeling, characters, references, etc. But they have got more advanced and it's good to see. I have Ben collecting and studying Silent Hill forever so I wish they weren't $65 dollar game. But yeah you just have to really get into it, alone, dark, and think.

Silent Hill is really a survival horror game. I was playing the other day Silent Hill Homecoming and it is pure horror and tension gameplay all the time. Resident Evil is way to far now to be a real survivial horror game anymore. So for anyone looking for a true survivial horror experience, you must take Silient Hill series without hesitation.

I mean there may have been a few startles here and there from something jumping out at you, but that phycological fear is long gone. And survival horror? Losely. Lose the hand to hand/melee combat skills and counters; then we'll talk.

@JamesKravenwolf Yes, you are right about the melee combat scheme, however for me it is creepy and thrilling. I also believe that this new game "Downpour" will be a lot better than Homecoming, since it seems to have a huge world to explore and more misterious characters as well.

The hell world was never creepy when it instantly looked like hell. It was the progression to that that made it creepy. You are dragged into hell, not plopped there by a magic scenery change.

Silent hill 1 was probaly the most scariest game. Havent really gotten itnto it much after number 2 ..games nowadays are too predictable and not so much fun to play if you're looking to get scared.

This game looked like it had some promise to it, then they came out with a trailer using a Korn song.... Now it feels like they are pretty much taking everything Team Silent did and throwing it out there fancy 22 story building and saying "Now what can we do to make us more money?" call me out if I'm wrong, but at least.... AT LEAST use your NEW composer to make the trailers. So you don't scare the shit out of the long time fans before the game even comes out. Is that really too much to ask????

Honestly, i liked origins, and shattered memories. I also LOVED homecoming. My expectations for this game are really high. Only thing im not excited for is the breakable weapons. Never has been my thing.

Downpour as a chance to be the best Silent Hill in the series, it will all depend on the story, because for rest, the atmosphere seems to be there, Graphics are better, sound is better, the controls are better. And we got side quests. Im a huge fan of Daniel Licht, i trust he will deliver with the soundtracks. I just hope the story is as good as Silent Hill 1-2
