Well, I support an ID card. The card itself is no problem - it's where its REQUIRED to be used that may be a problem. If an ID card can reduce fraud against government programs, private charity handouts, crime, credit card fraud etc., sounds like a good thing. We can protest against taxes, but we like to have effective armed forces, strong disaster recovery, epidemic control, crime investigation etc. All these cost tax money. These and all other govt expenditures are condoned by Congress.

it is my understanding that many states are currently challenging this, and it continues to be delayed - also, there is no gps requirement, no biometric requirement - mostly it entails putting bar codes on your drivers license, and many states are already doing this - these bar codes supposedly collect and coordinate data - most americans probably already have them and don't even know it - in nc as of 2010 our drivers licenses take a week to get - they are mailed to us! and they have bar codes
