  • cool!

  • Tut please ZirumsHeroTWR

  • tut plz?

  • i would really enjoy it if you made a tutoral. even if you arnt i still think this is really awesome

  • plz put a save download of the canon. also when 1.2 or whatever comes out make it shoot fire balls.

  • Making one of this, and making the D-Pad slot smaller. I made it a 3x5x4

  • can you send me the download link? I may be able to fix the piston bug or i can atleast try to. My email is maxweber06@gmail.com

  • sick

  • i made the cannon yey but will it still work whit gravel ?

  • How di I build it? I need a tutorial or atleast a download!

  • Download?

  • Make tons of these into one line like a wall on a multiplayer server.

  • You should build a castle around that.

  • Put It For Download Plsssss i Subbed

  • One time I vag wars with my friends, and I made the same cannon, he made a very simple cannon, shot a shot in to the magazine full of tnt's and My cannon was a crater... Needed to cover that :D

  • 1:00 - 1:02 Thats what she said o.o

  • Too fix you pistons glitch look at bud switches because they use the same glitch

  • Thank you

  • put a hole down where the sand goes over. it will stop the sand going to far as it will fall but then the tnt will go over the top

  • If you actually manage to get enough people working this at the same time, and someone comes and stops you, are they technically the good guy?

  • will it work for the zipline mod cuz I wana make mass destruction

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR You know I think that you should add some armor to it. If it gets hit while loaded, it's basiclly screwed. If any part of the barrel or control room or wiring gets hit, it's basiclly dead. you should add some brick plating to it or a few layers of stone plating to the outside to negate the blast of incoming TNT. Just a few suggestions. Anyway love your videos and your cannons! :D

  • Too much of a large target. I'd rather use a 16t manual shot one

  • WOO!! finished doing the d-pad controls. now onto the cannon! gonna be awesome!..until it explodes cuz this vid doesnt show absolutely everything

  • Just post a world save ! :D

  • Thanks for continuing the cannon series. I am glad that you continued these advancements for science. I did, however, have a couple points. 1.) You should add a mechanism for protecting TNT stores. I was thinking that having a water channel in the belt, held back by signs or something would aid in the issues that this cannon has. 2) I think that by splitting a pulse three (or 6 of that bug doesn't work) times and delaying it sufficiently would create a one button full load.

  • You know something?

If you may excuse my french for a moment, if I was staring down the barrel of that thing, I would piss myself.

  • What's the point?

No. Seriously: what is the point? The entire assembly seems like a big step down from your previous works: cut capabilities, vulnerable and very delightfully detonatable magazines, vulnerable and exposed wiring, and an absolutely /gigantic/ target. What are the gains that this design makes for all of its added, shallowly-impressive complication and vulnerability to damage?

  • @SayokoHatsuya Hmm.. seeing that the wiring are more complicated, there's more mechanisms, and everything can be safely controlled from one point would be considered a "step up". The point of the project was simply to see if it was possible, which I have proved -- therefore I'm successful. :)

But I agree, the thing can easily be damaged which is a real downfall to it, but then again, implementing such a device within a large, damage-resistant wall can really solidify the design. :P

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Ah. I have to admit that I do like the idea of a centralized control point &/or bridge, I suppose you could put it; the complicative mess that is the redstone work in the machine is an issue and needs to be resolved, however. Simplified so that idiots can be easily trained to understand it and streamlined to suffer less from battle damage and ease maintenance. The ammunition magazines are a /giant/ vulnerability that needs immediate addressing.

  • @SayokoHatsuya Hahaha, I sometimes get myself lost within the wire-work but it's much more simple than it looks. My only task now is to figure out that piston bug, which will make fully loading the cannon easy in 3 clicks (which is faster than manual load). Again, battle damage can be deterred by a wall.

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Are you so sure that three button-clicks are faster than a crew-based loading system, especially when the maximum engine complement is maybe twelve TNT? And a wall isn't enough; inherent battle damage resistance is key; multiple armor layers are easy to put around anything, but what of internal partitioning and inherent simplicity?

And armored magazines which can still be detonated by a single incoming spread, armor or not?

  • @SayokoHatsuya Well I never said that the button clicks were intended to be faster than a player. It would just be faster than the method I demonstrated. And while a wall isn't enough, that's really the most that can be done, unless you want to cheat and make a water-wall.

But any fully loaded cannon is a potential huge risk in battle. :P

    Especially if they have clips.

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR As far as a wall goes, my ships tend to have at least one if not two or three layers of belt armor protecting vital spaces, with or without space buffers and hold up extremely well even under heavy TNT fire; defensive armament is simple and multiple-redundant.

And for a fully loaded cannon being a huge risk in battle? Damn right. I tested this once on a full engine load on the Model 9.08-based main gun and the entire assembly /evaporated/.

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR PART 2: Yes, I did indeed call wiring complication as a problem. Simplicity is the best way to go - always always always, especially in a machine that will be expected to take fire.

Good job on making this proof of concept, though.

I have to also ask however: why did you stumble into the pitfall of piston automation as "more advanced"? There is nothing that a human operator couldn't have done more quickly and efficiently in the design; engine loading was excruciatingly slow.

  • @SayokoHatsuya Simple wouldn't give me the functions I had intended to put on the machine. At all. What can be done (if priority care is applied to a Champion Cannon) is to box the entire wiring within obsidian and use repeaters to direct a current through a block. You'd have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Well I call it more advanced because of the wiring that functions exactly how I want -- with exception to that bug. It's intended it to be clicked 3 times for a full load.

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Wait - what functions, precisely (that can't be served equally or better by crew members or the weapon operator himself)?

Obsidian is cheating ): I prefer not to use it because with obsidian one can forgo actual competent weapons and defensive engineering and go 'mmderp i'm just gonna use obsidian lol'; it's along the lines of using bedrock. Not that I speak against using them for prototyping weaponry.

And I'm with you on wiring difficulties there. Redstone aaaaaargh!

  • @SayokoHatsuya this is the prototype they will get simpler, more efficient and effective

  • @xXwriggyXx I sure as shit hope so. This guy was basically my MC artillery god and if not for him my warships wouldn't exist right now. Right now I'm a little disappointed ):

  • COMPLICATED!!! i like it but id get lost in it :(

  • I would actually prefer you to continue your redstone tutorial instead of a I play u watch

  • On c meant lists

  • 1. Cannon is freakin awesome.

    2. Do you have the next chapter of your story ready?

    C. I hate lsits but 1 and 2 have already made it that.

Four. Did i mention the really awesome cannon design?

  • @cousinofthatguy

    1. Thanks! :D

    2. I haven't given up on the story, but I might post an update on what's going on and what's going to happen regarding the writing process.

    C. It happens, I guess.

    Four. It's implied. :P

  • I think a good way of stopping sand getting into the system is to have a horizontal area near the engine with a two block drop inside the horizontal area. Tnt will be pushed safely, but sand will fall in, and if you put torches in, the sand will break; then have them fall on pressure plates and that stops the whole system.

  • @Orberror404 Yeah, I'll have to take a look to see if that works.

  • You sound a little bit like Swifty the creator of "Incredible Warrior Tricks"

  • @MrSmartChaos Who?

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR

    Not impotant ;)

    Just keep on making vids

  • This is amazing. Such a difference compared to your other cannons. They just keep getting better, keep it up!

  • @thejamiepod I'm glad you like it. I try to improve the design. :P

  • *Warning! This video is 19 mins long!*

Why do you have to warn us about that? I've watched 2 hour video before!

  • @Swordflash4 Just in case. ;P

  • when is it gonna start walking and spitting fire?

  • @TheDeathintherain Walking? As soon as Blackmajik makes better Physics for his Zeppelin Mod. It wont walk but it will fly Muahaha

And spitting fire: Arrows or primed TNT through Lava...

  • @TheDeathintherain put the fire charges in fire dispencers. walking might be a problem though.....

  • WHAT THE FU cannon fires

  • this thing is amazing!

  • @AnHeroDesu Thanks! :D

  • For your problem with the sand coming into the engine I have two solutions: One is to just put enough sand in the loading mechanism to push all the TNT into the engine, the second is to make a hole right before the sand reaches the engine where the sand can drop down on torches. Hope it helped! :)

  • @TheMuffelduffel I JUST realized what people mean by that 2nd idea. TNT isn't effected by gravity until lit! U: (How could I forget that!?)

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR hehe, it's easy to forget those basic rules of gravity sometimes :) One problem with this might be the lag the sand causes when it brakes... maybe you can burn them in lava or something...

I love your vids and I've missed the cannons since it didn't work properly. I'm glad you're back to making cannons :D

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Hey, I havent seen the whole video yet, but i think you use the sand to push the reload forwawrd. tipp: use a cobblestone generator for reloading instead of sand, so you wont have to build a sand tower for the reload!

  • @JayTie1 I considered it, but it's a terrible idea, really. Removing sand is way easier than cobblestone. :P

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR but you also have to consider the time you need to replace the whole sand! plus, the cobble you collect by destroying it, you wont have to generate with another cobblestone generator. because tehres always a use for cobble!

but I have to admit, in the 1.9.3 its no good, because water and lava create bricks which take waaaay longer to destroy em.

  • @TheMuffelduffel a hole with a torch at the bottom, you understand why :)

  • Omg nice!

  • Wow that is amazing! Also looking forward to your "I Play, You Watch!" Sounds like a great idea and maybe help spread some insight into creating the crazy compact redstone mechanics of yours.

  • Is there any chance we might get a download link for the world/schematic?

  • OOH!!! i so want a tutorial on how to make that.

also, a "you play" series (by you of course) would be interesting to watch. just keep it interesting cuz thats what makes people stop watching em

  • O.O woooooowwwwww, i dont think that thats worthy of the Imperial Avenger name tbh. its tooooooo biiiiiigggg and mighty.

  • ZirumsHero, doing a Let's... I mean, an "I play, you watch"? OMG! That sounds awesome, can we have the world download please?!

  • can you use a cobblestone generator instead of sand? and is the d-pad glitch caused by a 1-tick pulse?

  • @mriliketurkey Cobblestone is way harder to remove. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. I don't know about the d-pad glitch. I may need to use my model d-pad to emulate what I have wired to see.

  • Hey, Zirum - Do you have the FOV set to Quake Pro?

  • @sillydeadperson56 Nope. :)

  • Cal u put a download of that map so we can play around with it ? Iw would be easy er than doin a tutorial

  • I'd watch. Also, at 17:57, was that lava?

  • Two more things.

    1. Why not use glowstone?

    2. Have sticky pistons pull the sand to the side into a deep trough so you don't have to clean it out very often.

  • @APieFlavoredPie Use glowstone for what? Lighting? Not a big deal. :P

Sticky pistons? Eh.. can't see where they can be used.

  • My question is this. Could you add blocks that move up and down next to the tnt charges, with off being wide arc and on launching the tnt straight? Or once it is activated will it not interact with surrounding blocks.

  • @APieFlavoredPie I don't really understand what you mean by this. O:

  • to make the sand go in have a small gap right before it can fall into, with a torch in it so its turned into an item, tho need one block of falling I belive for that to work

  • @Dragoskunky That's quite difficult to do when the block above is water. :/

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR ahh wasent sure how it was structuerd, thought there would be a spot right before the water it could fall into if not tnt, guess not, well good luck finding a solution

  • @Dragoskunky hahaha, thanks for that. If anything, I'm sure I can dig the engine one block deeper, But I don't know. :P

  • tutorial? PLEASE????

  • :D IT'S BEEN SOOOO LONG!

  • @johanjahoohoo Hopefully I'd be able to obtain redstone fast so I can make the real fun stuff. :P

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR You can alwase use creative mode.

  • @Peter4101 Nah, my "I play, you watch" series will be in legit mode. :)

  • i love your cannon designs. Is it possible to get a world save or .schematic file of the cannon?

  • @ericzanzibar Thanks! Well this cannon is WAY too big for a video tutorial. I'm strongly considering posting a schematic or save file. Most likely the save file, haha. :)

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR , thanks. I will terrorize my server with my new found weapons of war! HAHAHAAHAHAH...

  • the loading bay problem is easy, find the last place a sand block can be with interfereing with the cannon. ding one block down and put a torch there. the sand will fall in the hole hit the torch and break. that way it wont interfere and when you stop firing you know its time to reload

  • @MourningStar13666 I wish it was that easy. I'd only be able to secure the top row of the engine.

  • very nice... im still proud of my fully automatic super compact cannon from beta 1.7.3

It was a good one... I called it The Ballista

  • @toasterhead91 Thanks! :D You should post a video of your cannon.

  • I think that'll be cool, another perspective on the game and I also I think you can have a hole where the water starts then put a sign under it so it doesn't go in the hole. I dk if that will work but something along those lines.

  • @AerotheIceman It's very tricky. I wish it was that easy. :P

  • I'd love to see you make a multiplayer map involving war and cannons. I can't really elaborate. It just sounds awesome. Maybe they're trying to claim territories, I don't know. I'm sure you'd have plenty of people volunteering to help you build it.

  • @JayBlueToYou That would be very interesting.

  • THIS FULLY OPERATIONAL BATLE STATION

  • holy fuck!

  • SCHEMATIC FTW!!!

  • I'm looking forward to your new serie. Also, could you do a tutorial on a small cannon? Like 3-4T engine that shoots 1 TNT? Something you could do quickley when you need one

  • @DanneVolvo I have my Minimperial Avenger, if that's what you mean. O:

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Hmm, not sure if I've seen that one. But I think I have seen all your vids.... Do you have it uploaded?

  • @DanneVolvo Yes. :)

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Found it! But I was thinking a bit smaller. Maybe like 3-4x5-6 blocks 3 blocks high? I don't know, but a really really small one. If you have nothing to do sometime, there's a challenge for you ;)

  • can you give us the scematic

  • could u upload the world?

  • thanks!

  • Now make one that automatically fires shots every 20 seconds or so.

  • @2weirdy That would be a waste. :P

  • Yay!

  • And I'd watch you play, btw.

  • goodluck making a tutorial

  • Would you be willing to share the schematic for this cannon? I'd love to have this on my server!

  • genius idea (i play u watch)!! nice cannon! i want cannons tuts! woo

  • show me the probeem with the sand going in the engine and i'll think of a fix for it. just show me the problem

  • Id watch the i play you watch series :3

    And im really glad to see more vids from you; your cannons are amazing o.o;

  • I can has map download? :D

  • Use the sneak button to fly down instead of hitting your space bar

  • @odin6616 Also, you could put a hard limit on how many tnt can be put into the engine but putting a drop beneath the loading slots so the sand falls into drop form before it can replace the tnt in the engine.

  • @odin6616 You have a strong point, there. And SHIFT! Oh man! I'll totally use that! Thanks!

  • god i want fraps

  • thank you wery mutch :D

  • I might have been able to come up with a solution which wouldn't be as destructive if more of your cannon's inner workings were shown in the video. >.>

Still, helping is helping, even if it was only 50%. :P

  • @NaturallyAL hehe I appreciate it. But it looks like I still have things to figure out.

  • Somewhere in the video you said you were looking for a way to stop sand from getting into the engine and messing up the water currents. Well, I have a solution for you...

When sand (or gravel) falls onto a non-solid object (a torch or something you can walk through) it will be destroyed and returned to item form. If you make a little pit/hole with a torch on the bottom for sand to fall into, the sand will be dropped as an item for recollection and won't reach the engine compartment (no crater).

  • @NaturallyAL I thought about that, actually. But water + torches never work. I did notice that sand turned into sand-loot when placed (or dropped) on top of a half step block. And I thought maybe I could use that. :D

The only thing I'd question is the TNT in the engine that is dropped as well. Good chances that they'll assume that they are "dry" and actually explode with a big ol' crater. Haha, what a puzzle!

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR I was thinking that the area where sand is dropped onto a torch/half block would be before the engine so that it wouldn't interfere with the water currents or anything else, but I'm not sure if you have the space for it, since you didn't really show the engine compartment in the video.

  • @NaturallyAL OOHH, you may be right! HAHA! This is fantastic news indeed!

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR Glad to have helped you. :D

  • @NaturallyAL Aww.. 50% helped me. I can't use torches to line the lower row. :(

  • @ZirumsHeroTWR You can try to have a backup in the loading system. Problem being you will not be able to fully use the loading bay anymore.

TNT that is not triggered does not fall, correct?

Sand that is pushed will fall after the animation.

Have a pit of some sort before the Engine to have sand fall through and get destroyed, whereas the untriggered TNT will just stay afloat.

As I said it may partially make the loading bay lose some of its capacity if the pit interferes with the TNTloading.
