How many of them or the ISPs that allow you to access them couldn't have their plug pulled by government pressure should they contribute to destabilizing civil unrest? He described his music as a combination of poetry, politics, and percussion. And if you listen to his other music, he really was a jazz head. But to me, this was his best and most inspirational work.
The Revolution will remember GSH. I saw him at least 4 x in concert and met him twice, once after a concert and once on the streets of DC in the mid-80s. GSH wrote the Revolutions. RIP musical poetic sensitive and above-all, honest brother.

It's about being personally responsible for a revolution. If we want a revolution to occur ( whatever that is) we cannot watch from the side line. All GSH was doing was putting it into the context of that time. Things have changed, and new revolutions, are abound. Don't expect your revolution to be televised unless you are in it.

@Cricks1474 thanks but I did not mention race in my comment. Revolution is not race specific. There was no mention of a racial uprising in my comments.. It's about being personally responsible for a revolution. If we want a revolution to occur ( whatever that is) we cannot watch from the side line. All GSH was doing was putting it into the context of that time. Things have changed, and new revolutions, are abound. Don't expect your revolution to be televised unless you are in it.

and yet, today, whether the revolution comes within or without, it is likely to be broadcast online. Not exactly televised, but the same thing. With blogs, video blogs, citizen reports, cell phone cameras, status updates and comment forms, nothing is private anymore.

Rest In Paradise, the late Great, Original Conscious Rapper, whimsical and brilliant Gil Scott Heron. Can't nobody today compare to Gil Scott Heron. He educated people and this began an awakening for the conscious community and others.
