I was only like, four years old when I got RSoD the first time... :-(

I had put in a VERY badly scratched PS1 game(Mickey's Castle of illusion

The only time i saw a real red screen of death on an actual ps2 was when i was at school. We were having a party, i was on my ds. The teachers and a student tried to get the ps2 to play a game (yes it was a ps2 game), but it kept having problems reading the disc (just that specific disc. Other discs work fine on it) , then eventually, it showed the rsod. Luckily, i wasn't scared of it at the time, so i didn't run out of the room like a scaredy cat when i saw it.

@IchDerComputerFreak Maybe i'm answering a bit late but:

When it asks you a PS Format Disc it answers a common PS Game (not other console beacause it isn't a disk that it can be played with PS).

Also, a damaged playstation format disk causes this, it doesn't work and PS warns you..
