@missbigazzbooty ...What's your point? Couldn't care less if our best players are from the US, Japan or Great Britain... Doesn't change the legitimacy of our feelings.
@Magnifico35 I love the NFL and CFL; I watch both so i dont think they should stop airing the NFL here. Although i do agree that canadians dont embrace the CFL as much as they should. whenever i talk football with my friends we are usually talking NFL, even during Grey Cup weekend.
It's been 4 days since the Grey Cup and I'm missing football already. June is a long time away...And, no NFL football will not fix my football withdrawal symptoms. I can't watch that garbage. It just makes me want to watch real (CFL) football. Sigh...

@UserName0043 different nfl. not the same league. a few CFL teams go back to the 1800's. nfl may have billions, but you cannot buy history and nfl has none by comparison. how many superbowls now?? 45? barely older than disco.
@Love4SK Dont confuse the leauges with the trophys. Talk about mis-informed history, the Greycup wasn't even a CFL trophy until the 60's. And the Superbowl came about with the merger of the NFL & AFL. Profession gridiron football in America goes all the way back to the Ohio Leauge from 1903, the NFL offcially began in 1920. Yes there are some Canadian teams that go back to the 1890's but they were rugby teams, Canada did not adopt gridiron football until the 1950's, and the CFL began in 1958.
@Love4SK Once again ignorance has come into the conversation. NFL 1920, CFL 1958, nuff said. Do some research, the superbowl came about with the merger of the AFL and NFL, where as your precious greycup wasnt even a CFL trophy until the 60's, prior to that it was a rugby trophy. Look, I like the CFL its a fun leauge to watch but I dont know why Canadians go so butt hurt to admit that gridiron football is an American product and is played at a higher level in the USA.
@canukmark096 THE GREY CUP HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE CRFU hence we are going in our 100TH GREY CUP AND ITS NOT AN AMERICAN SPORT,its based out of two european sports(rugby and soccer)and the first college game were between a canadian and american college. you guys think because the NFL has more money, a much larger market and those two factors sign BIG names that go for BIG money, these people play for the game itself. because theyd rather play football then sit on their ass and troll all day

Oh, and BTW, it should be a great game too! And jeffy if you're still "trolling" here, (I'm sure you are) YA STILL LOVE THE CACK!!!!!!!
From reading a lot of the comments here in Youtube, my question is why is it that a lot of people don't know the difference between "then and than"? LOL
@PurpleGreenHaze sorry to break this to ya but canadian football was around about 100 years before american football so the nfl would not exsist without the cfl
@trainsandtrek Did you seriously just say that the CFL has been around for 100 years prior to the NFL? Come on man, lets end this now, rugby football was introduced to McGill and Harvard in the 1860's. Gridiron football (that played in the NFL & CFL today) came about from Walter Camp in Ohio around the 1875. American College football was born first and pro football started around 1900 with the Ohio League. The CFL came around shortly after but did not adopt gridiron rules until the 1950's.
Do not confuse the Grey Cup with the CFL. The Grey Cup has been around for 99 years (as a rugby trophy), the current CFL is recognized as being organized in 1958 (Jan 17th, 1958 according CFL.ca). NFL's inaguration game was Aug 20th 1920. I love the CFL for its awesome offense, but I cant stand the ignorance that many Canadians have when it comes to the history of gridiron football. It would be like Americans trying to claim hockey because someone hit a rock with a stick on ice in the Maine.
@canukmark096 The CFL, as it exists currently, was founded in 1958. Gridiron Football in Canada, however, was not founded in 1958. Yes, it started as rugby. As did US football. The CFL traces it's roots to 1884. Was it a rugby trophy? No. It was called Rugby Football. It wasn't quite football and not quite rugby; it was evolving in to what we know today. Is the CFL over 100 years old? Not as it exists now. But it's history is.
@canukmark096 I'm not exactly sure if your analogy of hitting a rock on a frozen pond was intended to imply that the US alone created football? If not, it was wildly inaccurate. Any article on the matter will tell you that the US and Canada, pretty much, jointly created this sport. There are clear differences between our two leagues and they exist because of 100+ years of diversion from it's original roots. The "rouge" is a perfect example of us retaining part of our rugby heritage.
@Erivah I have made it quite clear that the football I am talking about is "GRIDIRON FOOTBALL", the football that is uniquely played in only the CFL & NFL and the diferences between the 2 leagues are little (the proof is in the fact that players effortlessly move from NCAA which is NFL rules to the CFL). Gridiron football was created by Walter Camp in Ohio and was played in America well before Canada abbandoned rugby football and addopted gridiron.
@Erivah My analogy was a way of illustrating who people try to claim a stake in the development of a product simply because they did something that bore a tiny resemblence to the current product. Under your logic Canadians should not be able to claim ice hockey as a Canadian invented sport because field hockey was played in the UK prior to ice hockey. Look man, I love the CFL but I hate the ignorance that many Canadians have about the history of the current game played in the CFL & NFL.
@canukmark096 I didn't state any "logic" that could possibly be analogous to "field hockey in the UK". You're reaching. If you'd like to continue this with a sensible argument I'd be glad to. The NHL doesn't trace it's league's roots back to the UK, as far as I'm aware. However, the CFL does trace it's roots back to the 19th century. I never did say the CFL was over 100 years old though. But it doesn't mean this game isn't. Everything evolves over time. Obviously it'd be different from what was.
@Erivah The originial topic here was the origins of the style of football played in the CFL & NFL. I have never denied that Canada has played football since the late 19 centery when McGill played Harvard, see my earlier posts. All I have stated, and you and others have denied, is that the gridiron football came about through Walter Camp in Ohio and the turn of the century. America played it first and Canada slowly adappted their game to match American football.
@Erivah Please go spend some time on footballcanada . com, it gives a great timeline to the history of football in Canada, and it will show you everything I have pointed out. it was Rugby (CFU) until the 50's when they addopted American style scoring and formating. The Grey Cup was a rugby trophy until 1966 when it was turned over to the CFL. Canada has some great football heritage but the game the CFL plays today is American Football with some rule differences.
@canukmark096 It was the trusteeship of the cup that was given to the CFL in 1966. Since 1945 only CFL or it's predecessor's teams have competed. It ceased to be a rugby trophy as soon as it was first awarded. This sport evolved independently of an int l. governing body and as early as the 1920's had developed its own character. There's been a strong American influence on Canadian football, as with many things... but that doesn't make it un-Canadian. It's history and continuity make it unique.
@TheJhn924 I got all my timeline info from footballcanada . com. I think the CFL is a great Canadian product, my only point was the origins of gridiron football, the football that is played in both the CFL & NFL. Football was introduced to both Canada and the U.S. dating back to the late 1800's, I know this and have never disputed it. But gridiron football is the brain child of Walter Camp and began in Ohio, I dont know why this is so insulting to Canadians.
@canukmark096 name 1 current NFL team that played the 1920/21 season?? hint: there are none. Argos played the Eskimos in the 1921 Grey Cup. The name NFL is the only thing that dates back to 1920, nothing else, not even 1 team, lol. yaaaaaa, The CFL fans r the ignorant ones. that is the deinition of a joke, read some of these posts, NFL fans r the stink on the fly sitting on the sh@t , XD
@LLB9977 Fact, the NFL is older then the CFL. Fact, the Ohio leauge played pro gridiron football well before anyone in Canada did. There have been many pro football leauges that have come and gone in America well before the NFL. Sorry for the reality check.
@LLB9977 Just stop talking before you emberss yourself. Dont confuse the trophys with the leauges, the NFL was created in 1920, the CFL was created in 1958. The Superbowl came around when the AFL and NFL merged, the Greycup was a rugby trophy and didnt even belong to the CFL until 1966. Get your facts straight.
@PurpleGreenHaze For the most part, all of the Canadian teams are older than the NFL itself, let alone the teams you named. So if anything the NFL copied the CFL but I won't say that. Different leagues, different games, keep them separate.
@mrfwest It is our league, as in it differs from the NFL in so many beautiful ways (as the video clearly explains)... And by the way, the half of every CFL roster is made up of Canadians...
@mrfwest The US produces tons of talented football players, just like Canada produces talented hockey players. It's not rocket science. Besides if you knew anything about Canadian football you would know that the teams who have good Canadian talent are consistant winners. you need Canadian talent to win in the CFL. Good American players are a lot easier to find than good Canadian players. That is why each CFL teams roster has some American players. Geez some people are dumb.
Congaratulations to Anthony Cavillo for becoming the ALL TIME passing leader in ALL of football. Good job, AC, you are one of the all time greats, in any league. I can still remember you running for your life as a rookie with Las Vegas. 17 years later you are the all time best! GREAT JOB!!!!
Tims (or timmies) I don't remember which he actually says but he's talking about Tim Hortons, the Canadian coffee shop, that most Canadians just call Tims or Timmies.
I would still do anything to get this on DVD!!!!!!!!! PLEASE someone help me! Me and my little man are waiting for Stegall to break the record at 1:30 :) Would love a copy.
@BrianCardova i am canadian and this just proves that we cant have a sport and crash you like you crash us and be left alone and canadian is older and by the way in the 90s the nfl was in the cfl so get a life.
long time no post, did some reading back a few pages nothing changes. same ole arguments over and over. why exactly NFL fans feel the need to post smack on this site is still beyond my comprehension. ya dont like the CFL then screw off and go watch your crappy NFL. Which btw, Oakland and San Fran fans had to get so drunk to watch the crappy football they beat each other to shtis. If they watched it sober they would realize what crap they just paid to watch.
@phins13td which two teams have the same nickname? And I work for the roughriders and I'm still not sure what it is lol all I know is our mascot is a gopher.
Now that the US of A is officially broke, maybe the NFL crybaby millionaires can spare Obama a few bucks. I guess the Bills will be moving to.....Beijing!
I live in the United States, but the longer I live, the more my love for the CFL grows. The NFL is great, don't get me wrong, but the more I watch the CFL, the more amazing it becomes to me. Isn't Ottawa suppose to get a new team around 2013 or '14?
I'm a hardcore packers fan living in Wisconsin and i love football as any other fan, but when i saw this video i saw that same enjoyment and love for the game from Canadians as i do when it's game day at Lambeau field. My Grandparents Lived in Canada and I love Canada and it's a beautiful country! I don't know why there is so much hate towards Canadians by Americans. I'm truly ashamed that there must be so much hatred between these two countries. Lets just experience the wonders of both countrys
@jogabonito13939 Very well put. That's what this video is all about - enjoyment and love for the game. That is where the CFL beats the NFL hands down. The game is still played here for the love of the game. Unfortunately the NFL seems to be all about big bucks these days. It's not about whose country is better, it's about football fans enjoying the game of their choice.
@UserName0043 No, I think TRUE NFL fans have just as much love for football. But it seems to me that the "NFL fans" posting here just think about $, or whose country is better. Just because we play football a bit differently here does't mean that it's less entertaining. I think it's more entertaining. This video is about the long tradition and history of the CFL and the love it's fans have for it. It's not about $, or politics, or geography. Too bad the haters posting here can't get it.
@cfl4evr You said it, man. It's not about football for some people. It's just hate, pure and simple. One thing I've noticed is that YouTube sure attracts a lot of haters.
@UserName0043 What I meant was that certain "fans" only look at what the players are payed, and face it, the NFL is all about hype and money. It has lost whatever it is that make people watch just for the enjoyment of the game. At least that's how it seems to me.
@ratnik27 whatever "fans" only care about that are not true fan and are the minority. Most of the fans watch the game for their love of the team, especially here in Pittsburgh.
@UserName0043 That's what the game is all about. It doesn't matter what league as long as you love the game and live and die with your favourite team. That's the way it should be, not points spread, over-under or Vegas lines, player salaries, etc.
@ratnik27 Yea the big bucks and all the commotion about lockouts because of money issues saddens me, it's not all about glory and rich history anymore, the owners of the NFL are nothing but greedy trolls who do anything to rack up billions from die hard fans.
@jogabonito13939 What hate are you talking about? That all bullshit, the hate is towards the french speaking ones and Canadians hate them too. Get a life asshole
@BrianCardova I bet you must have the best life trolling people's comments and you must feel you have larger life than whoever you tell to "get a life",feel bad for you not even going to say nothing else, you already suffering.
@jogabonito13939 For that to happen, more Americans need to have a less Xenophobic attitude like yourself. I totally agree with you. There are great points to Canadian football, like there are with American. Real football fans are not fans of a league, but of a game.
@jogabonito13939 Sorry dude...I had a feeling the way I wrote it would come out wront. YOU are NOT Xenophobic...What I intended to say was that many Americans need to have an attitude more like you...and NOT be Xenophobic. Hope that clarifies things. :)
@zmanstreeval Because there seems to be a lot of ignorant, know nothing, retarded morons using YouTube who know NOTHING about football or life for that matter, and probably enjoy being trolls because they're safe hiding behind their keyboards. This is about entertainment value, not how much money players get, or how many downs, etc, but it seems there are a lot of jerk offs who can't comprehend that simple fact.
@phins13td If you did some research you would know that the Ottawa Rough Riders (who don't exist anymore) got their name from the lumberjacks who rode logs down the Ottawa river. The Saskatchewan Roughriders (notice the different spelling?) got their name from an group of NWMP (now known as the RCMP) corp of elite horsemen. It may be hard for you to wrap your tiny brain around this, but consider yourself told. Now STFU, troll boy.
This video is really getting me to the heart ... everytime...
CFL rocks !
Oh by the way... Ratnik... please do all of us a favor... Please move your ass south of the border with the 10% unemployment american US pesos owner...and leave it to the CFL real fans.
@Badboyinhell WTF? What did I post here that you would post a comment like that? I'm an extremely dedicated CFL fan! Why are you attacking me? I go out of my way putting unenlightened americans and NFL fanboys in their place, and you post shit like that? Weird.
i moved to canada about a year ago and just watched my first bc lions vs calgary stampeders about 3-4 days ago and OH MY GOD IT WAS THE MOST FUCKING INTENSE AND SICKEST GAME IVE EVER WATCHED.
As a Brit I can say I enjoy watching the CFL more than I do the NFL. The CFL is more offence, they pass alot more which is more enjoyable to watch as a fan. NFL is just alot of hype. For the past two years, the Grey Cup has been so much more exciting than the Superbowl.
@NoeinAlliance What the hell are you talking about...the last few Superbowl have been amazing. The NYG vs Patriots was ridiculous, then there was the Pitt vs Arizona game that was down to the wire, then Saint vs Colts was amazing, and so was last years.
fact is people in Toronto don't give a crap about there team and would rather have an NFL team....its the prairies of Manitoba and Saskatchewan that are hard core cfl fans....in america every one loves the NFL our league.....and only a few places in Canada like their league...im not dissing the cfl...i actually watched the Montreal game last night...and it was a good game...and i enjoyed it...im just stating the facts
@TheGamingClown hey asswhole not everybody wants an nfl team here in toronto.........i fucking hate that bills in t.o shit and btw all the fans that go to those games all come from buffalo.......i know the argos arent the most favoured team in toronto but god dammit u cant say everyone here doesnt give a crap about the cfl......i live in toronto and i have watched almost every cfl game almost every year......i love the cfl and absolutely hate the nfl
@bockner123 No doubt you're a big Argos fan, like I am...but truth be told, in a metropolitan area with over 5 million people, the Argos should have no trouble selling out, let alone selling their average of 20,000 tickets. It seems that I'm the only Argos fan that I know in my circle of friends (likely all suffering from an identity crisis).
@TheGamingClown Actually...while you're right about the Toronto thing (I'm Torontonian) pretty much every other team sells out, or comes close. Torontonians have an identity crisis...most of them think they're American. Sad but true.
CFL to me is far more exciting to watch then NFL. Yes the NFL has better players, they pay more and have more to choose from. Canada has 35 million peps. The US has 350 million. The CFL has to choose players willing to play for allot less money, not to mention different type of player. NFL offensive line men and D fence linemen need to be smaller and faster. The game is very similar but different. If you love football you most likely would enjoy both games.
@MrBudlightrocks canada has 34 mil, us 311 mil. nfl - 1600 spots - cfl 350 spots. fastest cfl 40 yard - 4.04 sec. nfl? 4.28 cfl = smaller very fast players with great conditinioning. nfl fast powerful large players with great conditioning.
@1millpushups I'm not dissing ur football but ur players play in ur league because the don't have the talent to play in the big league any player in the cfl that got a chance to make more money and play in the NFL would take it in a blink and just because players get paid alot of money does not mean they do not love the game.
It may not be where all the best talent or all the money is, but if you ask any football player who has played in both leagues, he will tell you invariably that he enjoyed his time in the CFL the most.
CFL players dont play because they want to make money... rookie salary is 30 000$ our team salary cap is less than the rookie salary of any NFL player. Sure we might not be as tough or fast as some of the NFL teams but we dont call lockouts because of salary disputes, we play football because we love it and a couple thousand dollars a year is a nice added bonus!
The Aussies play football their own way, and don't give a shit what we think about it. Europeans play football their way, and don't give a shit what we think. Canadian football is a unique sport, and I really don't give a shit if anyone doesn't like it. I also watch football for the entertainment, not for how much the players are paid. That's just plain stupid. It's about entertainment, not whose country is "better" or if somebody is a "reject". Everyone is a reject in one way or another.
I see the debate is revving up!! Could it be that the 2011 season is around the corner? Yes, we'll get to watch football, but those poor guys down south will get to watch millionaires locked out by billionaires. How sad.
Hey Americans, you like stats, well here's your stats
Ricky Williams RB
in NFL was a 4 time 1000 yd rusher
when he went to the CFL for ONE year.....526 yds and ohhh a "little" cfl player injured him.
Our game is older, our field is wider and longer. Like they always say, bigger is always better ;) If you can't get a 1st down in 3 plays, there's something wrong too!!
and Oh ONE MORE THING, Damon Allen- All Time Leader In Passing Yards, thats including your NFL QB's too
@TheReady14 Good points! Anthony Cavillo will probably pass Damon this season (he only needs 4000 and some yds). That will make 2 CFL QBs the most prolific passers in pro football. Before you haters get your assholes dribbling, why were there several NFL big wigs in attendance when Damon broke the record, and why did the NFL commish call Damon to congratulate him? Because football people know football and recognize the milestone accomplishments of great athletes, no matter what league. So there.
@cfl4evr It is.When they don't get drafted here, or they get let go...CFL TIME!Lol...Hey, it beats being unemployed, but it sure aint no NFL paycheck.
@cfl4evr HAHAH look at yahoo news. It has an article on how Mitch Mustain fall from top prospect, to the CFL...."It's a precipitous fall, but there is one good side to Mustain's potential CFL adventure. "
@Aggiesgigem The point isn't about whose country is better. It's about the long history of the Canadian Football League. The game is played differently here, and is considered by many to be more exciting. I think so. The fact remains that the CFL and NFL do not compete. They cooperate, and have for many years. Watch a few CFL games if you can. You might change your mind. It's about football, and the dedicated athletes in both leagues that give us a reason to watch, no matter what league.
@ratnik27 I was using it as an analogy...Sure, we are European rejects, but we became more powerful then the nations that rejected us. The CFL is made up of NFL rejects, but it hasn't risen to the top.
@Aggiesgigem We are all lucky that our ancestors immigrated to North America. But that hasn't got anything to do about football. Why can't you grasp that our game is played differently? Perhaps the players you call rejects, weren't able to play in the NFL because of size, or just plain politics. Doug Flutie never got a decent chance to play in the NFL because of his size, but he proved that he was a big time player here. Different game.
@ratnik27 Again, I was explaining my analogy...Sorry I confused you...I understand it's played differently. In my opinion, and the majority opinion, it's played worse.
@Aggiesgigem Well then why are you posting stuff here? If you don't like our type of football, that's cool, but why come here and put it down? This video is for CFL fans, not haters. I don't go to an NFL video so I could post that I think it's crap, so why should NFL fans do that here? Is it that you guys are afraid that our game is more exciting, perhaps?
lol,too bad the talent goes to the nfl.

It would be like Americans trying to claim hockey because someone hit a rock with a stick on ice in the Maine.
canukmark096 2 months ago
@canukmark096 The CFL, as it exists currently, was founded in 1958. Gridiron Football in Canada, however, was not founded in 1958. Yes, it started as rugby. As did US football. The CFL traces it's roots to 1884. Was it a rugby trophy? No. It was called Rugby Football. It wasn't quite football and not quite rugby; it was evolving in to what we know today. Is the CFL over 100 years old? Not as it exists now. But it's history is.
Erivah 2 months ago
@canukmark096 I'm not exactly sure if your analogy of hitting a rock on a frozen pond was intended to imply that the US alone created football? If not, it was wildly inaccurate. Any article on the matter will tell you that the US and Canada, pretty much, jointly created this sport. There are clear differences between our two leagues and they exist because of 100+ years of diversion from it's original roots. The "rouge" is a perfect example of us retaining part of our rugby heritage.
Erivah 2 months ago
@Erivah I have made it quite clear that the football I am talking about is "GRIDIRON FOOTBALL", the football that is uniquely played in only the CFL & NFL and the diferences between the 2 leagues are little (the proof is in the fact that players effortlessly move from NCAA which is NFL rules to the CFL). Gridiron football was created by Walter Camp in Ohio and was played in America well before Canada abbandoned rugby football and addopted gridiron.
canukmark096 2 months ago
@Erivah My analogy was a way of illustrating who people try to claim a stake in the development of a product simply because they did something that bore a tiny resemblence to the current product. Under your logic Canadians should not be able to claim ice hockey as a Canadian invented sport because field hockey was played in the UK prior to ice hockey. Look man, I love the CFL but I hate the ignorance that many Canadians have about the history of the current game played in the CFL & NFL.
canukmark096 2 months ago
@canukmark096 I didn't state any "logic" that could possibly be analogous to "field hockey in the UK". You're reaching. If you'd like to continue this with a sensible argument I'd be glad to. The NHL doesn't trace it's league's roots back to the UK, as far as I'm aware. However, the CFL does trace it's roots back to the 19th century. I never did say the CFL was over 100 years old though. But it doesn't mean this game isn't. Everything evolves over time. Obviously it'd be different from what was.
Erivah 2 months ago
@Erivah The originial topic here was the origins of the style of football played in the CFL & NFL. I have never denied that Canada has played football since the late 19 centery when McGill played Harvard, see my earlier posts. All I have stated, and you and others have denied, is that the gridiron football came about through Walter Camp in Ohio and the turn of the century. America played it first and Canada slowly adappted their game to match American football.
canukmark096 2 months ago

TheJhn924 2 months ago
@TheJhn924 I got all my timeline info from footballcanada . com. I think the CFL is a great Canadian product, my only point was the origins of gridiron football, the football that is played in both the CFL & NFL. Football was introduced to both Canada and the U.S. dating back to the late 1800's, I know this and have never disputed it. But gridiron football is the brain child of Walter Camp and began in Ohio, I dont know why this is so insulting to Canadians.
canukmark096 2 months ago
@canukmark096 name 1 current NFL team that played the 1920/21 season?? hint: there are none. Argos played the Eskimos in the 1921 Grey Cup. The name NFL is the only thing that dates back to 1920, nothing else, not even 1 team, lol. yaaaaaa, The CFL fans r the ignorant ones. that is the deinition of a joke, read some of these posts, NFL fans r the stink on the fly sitting on the sh@t , XD
LLB9977 2 months ago
@LLB9977 Fact, the NFL is older then the CFL. Fact, the Ohio leauge played pro gridiron football well before anyone in Canada did. There have been many pro football leauges that have come and gone in America well before the NFL. Sorry for the reality check.
canukmark096 2 months ago
@canukmark096 45 superbowls, 99 grey cups. its not even close, embarrasing to compare really
LLB9977 2 months ago
@LLB9977 Just stop talking before you emberss yourself. Dont confuse the trophys with the leauges, the NFL was created in 1920, the CFL was created in 1958. The Superbowl came around when the AFL and NFL merged, the Greycup was a rugby trophy and didnt even belong to the CFL until 1966. Get your facts straight.
canukmark096 2 months ago
@LLB9977 And by the way, the Green Bay Packers date back to 1919, Chicago Bears 1920, & Chicago Cardinals 1898.

@PurpleGreenHaze For the most part, all of the Canadian teams are older than the NFL itself, let alone the teams you named. So if anything the NFL copied the CFL but I won't say that. Different leagues, different games, keep them separate.

" CFL This is Our League" really? why are there so many Americans?
mrfwest 3 months ago
@mrfwest It is our league, as in it differs from the NFL in so many beautiful ways (as the video clearly explains)... And by the way, the half of every CFL roster is made up of Canadians...
Magnifico35 3 months ago
@mrfwest The US produces tons of talented football players, just like Canada produces talented hockey players. It's not rocket science. Besides if you knew anything about Canadian football you would know that the teams who have good Canadian talent are consistant winners. you need Canadian talent to win in the CFL. Good American players are a lot easier to find than good Canadian players. That is why each CFL teams roster has some American players. Geez some people are dumb.

Lets just experience the wonders of both countrys
jogabonito13939 5 months ago 18
@jogabonito13939 Very well put. That's what this video is all about - enjoyment and love for the game. That is where the CFL beats the NFL hands down. The game is still played here for the love of the game. Unfortunately the NFL seems to be all about big bucks these days. It's not about whose country is better, it's about football fans enjoying the game of their choice.
ratnik27 5 months ago
@ratnik27 you honestly think CFL fans have more enjoyment and love for the game than NFL fans. Wow
UserName0043 5 months ago
@UserName0043 No, I think TRUE NFL fans have just as much love for football. But it seems to me that the "NFL fans" posting here just think about $, or whose country is better. Just because we play football a bit differently here does't mean that it's less entertaining. I think it's more entertaining. This video is about the long tradition and history of the CFL and the love it's fans have for it. It's not about $, or politics, or geography. Too bad the haters posting here can't get it.
cfl4evr 5 months ago
@cfl4evr You said it, man. It's not about football for some people. It's just hate, pure and simple. One thing I've noticed is that YouTube sure attracts a lot of haters.
ratnik27 5 months ago
@UserName0043 What I meant was that certain "fans" only look at what the players are payed, and face it, the NFL is all about hype and money. It has lost whatever it is that make people watch just for the enjoyment of the game. At least that's how it seems to me.
ratnik27 5 months ago
@ratnik27 whatever "fans" only care about that are not true fan and are the minority. Most of the fans watch the game for their love of the team, especially here in Pittsburgh.
UserName0043 5 months ago
@UserName0043 That's what the game is all about. It doesn't matter what league as long as you love the game and live and die with your favourite team. That's the way it should be, not points spread, over-under or Vegas lines, player salaries, etc.
ratnik27 5 months ago
@ratnik27 Yea the big bucks and all the commotion about lockouts because of money issues saddens me, it's not all about glory and rich history anymore, the owners of the NFL are nothing but greedy trolls who do anything to rack up billions from die hard fans.

@1millpushups I'm not dissing ur football but ur players play in ur league because the don't have the talent to play in the big league any player in the cfl that got a chance to make more money and play in the NFL would take it in a blink and just because players get paid alot of money does not mean they do not love the game.

1MillPushups 7 months ago
@1MillPushups if any cfl player got an offer to play in the nfl they all would take it they might love football but theyd take the money anyday
cwhredsox89 7 months ago
The Aussies play football their own way, and don't give a shit what we think about it. Europeans play football their way, and don't give a shit what we think. Canadian football is a unique sport, and I really don't give a shit if anyone doesn't like it. I also watch football for the entertainment, not for how much the players are paid. That's just plain stupid. It's about entertainment, not whose country is "better" or if somebody is a "reject". Everyone is a reject in one way or another.
ratnik27 7 months ago 2

ratnik27 7 months ago
Hey Americans, you like stats, well here's your stats
Ricky Williams RB
in NFL was a 4 time 1000 yd rusher
when he went to the CFL for ONE year.....526 yds and ohhh a "little" cfl player injured him.
Our game is older, our field is wider and longer. Like they always say, bigger is always better ;) If you can't get a 1st down in 3 plays, there's something wrong too!!
and Oh ONE MORE THING, Damon Allen- All Time Leader In Passing Yards, thats including your NFL QB's too
TheReady14 7 months ago
@TheReady14 Good points! Anthony Cavillo will probably pass Damon this season (he only needs 4000 and some yds). That will make 2 CFL QBs the most prolific passers in pro football. Before you haters get your assholes dribbling, why were there several NFL big wigs in attendance when Damon broke the record, and why did the NFL commish call Damon to congratulate him? Because football people know football and recognize the milestone accomplishments of great athletes, no matter what league. So there.

@Aggiesgigem The US is a country of European rejects. What's your point?
ratnik27 7 months ago
@ratnik27 Yes, but we became more powerful then the nations that didn't want us...The same cant be said for the CFL.
Aggiesgigem 7 months ago
@Aggiesgigem The point isn't about whose country is better. It's about the long history of the Canadian Football League. The game is played differently here, and is considered by many to be more exciting. I think so. The fact remains that the CFL and NFL do not compete. They cooperate, and have for many years. Watch a few CFL games if you can. You might change your mind. It's about football, and the dedicated athletes in both leagues that give us a reason to watch, no matter what league.
ratnik27 7 months ago
@ratnik27 I was using it as an analogy...Sure, we are European rejects, but we became more powerful then the nations that rejected us. The CFL is made up of NFL rejects, but it hasn't risen to the top.
Aggiesgigem 7 months ago
@Aggiesgigem Blind luck, nothing more. You guys aren't the master race, ya know.
ratnik27 7 months ago
@ratnik27 You call Americas rise from nothing, to the most influential nation, luck? Ha...Is that what Canada depends on? Luck?
Aggiesgigem 7 months ago
@Aggiesgigem We are all lucky that our ancestors immigrated to North America. But that hasn't got anything to do about football. Why can't you grasp that our game is played differently? Perhaps the players you call rejects, weren't able to play in the NFL because of size, or just plain politics. Doug Flutie never got a decent chance to play in the NFL because of his size, but he proved that he was a big time player here. Different game.
ratnik27 7 months ago
@ratnik27 Again, I was explaining my analogy...Sorry I confused you...I understand it's played differently. In my opinion, and the majority opinion, it's played worse.
Aggiesgigem 7 months ago
@Aggiesgigem Well then why are you posting stuff here? If you don't like our type of football, that's cool, but why come here and put it down? This video is for CFL fans, not haters. I don't go to an NFL video so I could post that I think it's crap, so why should NFL fans do that here? Is it that you guys are afraid that our game is more exciting, perhaps?
