  • Every Rapper needs an E Luv, that's what's missing from Modern Hip hop! haha

  • thats funny seeing Chip Douglas in this movie, because I still think of him on My Three Sons.

  • to the guy about ll cool j's physique, LOL! LL was never skinny, always muscular, he is bigger now, so that's why you think that.

  • Body movin'.

  • as corny as this is he sounds far better than lil wayne.

  • @funkmex get your ears checked asap. this never sounded corny, not even back then, it wouldn't have got triple platinum otherwise. I tell you what, why don't you release a rap album independently or from a record company and sell platinum if you DARE! or better yet rap live on stage if you can dodge the tomatoes and eggs thrown at you, if you talk the stuff you better be able to back the stuff up, anyone can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?

  • @kalai131 LMFAO relax man....it's 2011 now and yes it does sound and look kind of corny, but it doesn't mean that i don't like the song. go to an open mic with painted jeans on and a boom box and see what kind of reaction you get.

  • ONE person Can Live Without his Radio!

  • everybody was rockin skinny jeans back then

  • damn J was about to take out the burner on ll

  • yo do any body see jay in the background laughing lol

  • cool j became my favorite rapper as soon as i saw this in the movie theatre

  • Say word....

  • when you fresh and the man raise is hand so high to pick is biscuit, you not is out of food. keep looking gats require space to move in and out, dude never had no piece

acting is acting, new york got great actors

  • the one who dont care about getting shot, steps on to you, turns is back, and RAP's aldo you showed him you were about to shoot him close & personal. L.L.COOL.JAY Was a bad M.C. to baddle in those years. i got signed by SONY LOS ANGELES by the same men how made L.L.COOL.JAY, but they never had to take away my cow-boy boots and cow boy hat and change them for a kangol & shell toes, M.C.KCLMNOP.CODE.1.2.3 ZULUNATION 1983 props given

  • BOX!

  • damn that brings back the good ole days...wow and LL Cool J is still around lol

  • @4life1971 he is on the few list of hip hop legends that can still sell platinum records and sold out arenas/concerts today!

hip hop is a brutal industry, far more so than even hollywood, in hollywood you have a 5 yr mark to make it, if you aren't big by then, you'll be in b-movies at best. in hip hop its only 3 yrs, if you aren't famous or a legend by then, you'll be swept under the rug, and working in home depot part time, just that unforgiving! anybody in the rap industry can tell you that.

  • @4life1971 also I will add that LL Cool J is of only 10 other rappers that are on that list, anybody who thinks they can be rich or a legend overnight, better stop dreaming. there were literally thousands if not hundreds of thousands of rappers who rapped, but only 10 MADE IT BIG AND STAYED THERE TODAY! Rap industry is very harsh, and only the elite can continue to stay in it.

  • BOX!!!

  • hell yeah !! thats the shit rite there, of ll cool j..5star!

  • My altime fav clip from crush groove!!!!!!!!!

  • i'm white...i understand the original hip hop...bring it back!!!!

  • I hear ya! Today's hip-hop is 95% garbage, just my opinion.

  • @scrapplecheesesteak because you are garbage. you just don't get it

  • @SalomonRyker You're right, I don't get it, seriously what am I missing? Very few talent out there...Look I can listen to Jay Z, Kanye, Eminem. These other new groups/ artists hit #1 on Billboard or iTunes, then disappear 2 weeks later, sometimes never to be heard from again. Classic hip-hop like this...20, 25+ years old. Obviously not forgotten.

  • Great stuff.

  • this was before ll cool j got muscles and made nothing but love songs, This is whne he was great

  • BOX!!

  • Jay almost wet L L up LMAO!!!!

  • LOL, it was funny because you never saw Jay pissed off. Or really say much of anything since he was the DJ

Damn, I do miss this old school hip-hop.

  • 0:07 jay reaches his gun..."I said no more auditions man...ya stupid or sumthin ?!!"

1:11 "look you was gonna shoot him jay....he a-ight man, he a-ight..."

    LMFAO

  • Jay was funny yo! RIP JMJ

  • this clip is priceless

  • This was an amazing scene at the time, the beat was mind blowing in the movies!!Great moment in hip hop!!

  • 80s must have been the greatest years ever.if only i was born about early 70s in new york so as to live hip hop as a youth.

  • Yes it was bro! Breaking, graffiti, REAL lyrics from REAL emcees, DJ scratching as a true art form...it certainly was the best! I hope that same spirit returns one day because THAT is Hip-Hop!!!

  • i hope when i finish my studies,take my plans into practise to help hip hop's revival.and i made a rhyme 2,haha!

  • @bmagnetic sure beats the marketed shit we have today

  • omg. I never noticed the side man before. You are right, he is the true star, and funny as hell!

  • a legend was born in this film

  • Well, yea...Rick Ruben was part of the rise. I wouldn't say he was responsible though. He started Def Jam but hip hop was big in the community before then. LL helped it go mainstream 'cause he was the first hip hop sex symbol.

  • MOST PEOPLE DONT kNOW THAT IT Was RICK RUBIN OF DEF JAM THAT CREATED THE RISE OF HIP HOP A JEWISH MAN/WHITE WAS THE FORCE BEHIND THE RISE OF RAP MUSIC!

  • yeah, suger hill has got nothing to do with it!

  • You can't forget Russell Rush...Russell was already a force to be reckoned with as far as a promoter from the 70's, so his forming Def Jam with Rick was just a natural progression. Simmons with the experience & Ruben with production skills...BOTH with the conceptual skills to MAKE long-term artists. It also shows the power Hip-Hop has to overcome racisim.

  • @nimjased10 I detest people like you, who always crawl out from under some rock in an attempt to rewrite history and steal glory from others. Your type always has a pathetic agenda to marginalize Black accomplishments. Why are you so pathetically insecure, what is your psychological malfunction? Russell Simmons was the brains behind Def Jam. If he had found another engineer or white guy with production equipment at his school, none of us today would know the name Rick Rubin. Go away freak.

  • @nimjased10 not entirely true. Rick was a driving force behind the rise of Def Jam, but Hiphop was huge before Rick got in it. DefJam was Russell's project, Rick was his college roommate.

  • @iconpoet nay, in a way nimjased10 is VERY RIGHT! hip hop was a collaboration of blacks, latinos, whites, and asians hard work put together, the voco recorder that Roger/Zapp uses came from japan to do the autotune stuff, one of the first rap songs ever was RAPTURE sang and rapped by Blondie, a white lady with blond hair! the g-funk beats came from euro pop, which then renamed with rapping in the States to become hip hop, rap wasn't made only by African Americans!

  • @kalai131 Early Hiphop grew out of the gang culture of late 60s and early 70s South Bronx. Kool Herc, a Jamaican, was the one who laid the foundations of the sound of Hiphop and Afrika Bambatta laid the foundations of the culture. True, Blondie did record "Rapture" and she was in the movie Wild Style...but Hiphop was huge in the black community before she did that. Do NOT argue Hiphop with me because I am a historian.

  • true but hip hop was also big in the Latino culture, and I do believe you also that the early 70's hip hop probably was underground and didn't hit the 8 track or boombox until the late 70's and early 80's, and it could also be said that Muhammad Ali was the first "mainstream" person to Rap, as an artist and performer while boxing, his rhymes were heard at a time when rap was not really in the mainstream vocabulary. many mainstream artists i.e. LL Cool J and Rakim say ali was their inspiration!

  • first time i saw ll, before this all you would see is rcord album covers with just words on em.

  • This Shit is So HipHop luv it

  • I haven't seen Crush Groove since I was like 7! Now I gotta go download "My Radio"

  • lol rick rubin

  • Wow , what year is this ? must be very early 80's ...

  • This was Oct 1985

  • Classic LL...rocks...

  • Is that Andre Harell???!!!

  • Yo this nigga said BOX!!! I was rollin.... That was a classic

  • I have BIG TIME respect for LL. This guy was (and still is) the very definition of hardcore Hip Hop, and yet, he never called any rivals "NIGGAs", or any woman a bitch. Unlike most rappers today. LL Kool J. was one of those extra-ordinary rare rap artist who had a long successful career without ever using profanity in his music.

    Now that's talent!

  • YES!! u tooo right!!!

  • I agree! he is a real singer no a rapper wanabe,he is good sample for most rappers today.

  • Are you slightly retarded? It's ok if you are.

  • ok ok ok you "CACA" (shit), first you most respect people opinion ok pendejo? if you don't like it, don't listen his music baboso ok? may be you are jelous but dont worry I understand your frustation.

  • I wasn't talking about his music, Cool J used to be great, I'm talking about the retarded way you write, you cunt.

  • Ho thanks for let me know cuase a just learning how write inglish cause is not my first language, talking abuot retaired you don,t had to show out we can see because you ridiculous 8 years old nickname say everything about you retaired and poor small brain...don't worry I understand you frustation

  • What?

  • U Right and u wrong...Listen to "The Ripper Strikes Bask" He called Canibus a Nigga and a lot more...killed his career with that as a matter of fact!!

  • lmao!!!!! that move by ll backing up is the best, lmao!!!!

  • shit ... feels like it was yesterday .. now i am a 39 year old man! I left iran when i was about 12 .. when we arrived to USA, rap was the best thing (the only thing) that got me through those rough first few years .. i may be the only iranian who can relate to these old school rap .. it was the best! i wonder if the young kids can relate to this type of music ..!!!

  • that a cool story man...

  • I'm 28...these yungins don't know shit!!

  • LL knows how to rock the mic

  • that one little scene was the highlight of the movie..when i went to school that monday that's all we talked about....LL COOL J and his scene in krush groove..that made him a star

  • wuts the name of this movie?

  • Krush Groove!

  • tyhaden,

The name of that movie was called "Krush Groove"

  • Absolutely one of the funniest hip hop movie scenes ever!! The guy on his right is hilarious. Weakest hype-man ever!! But it's all good.

And what was that move that LL did at 0:23? LOL

  • big up jam master jay bout to pop a cap in ll's ass (lol)

  • It's funny that LL owes his career to Adrock of the Beastie boys..

  • 1984 baby~~~~~~ yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lemme get my kangol son~~~~

  • look at dude to his right

  • I think thats E-Love..can anyone verify.

  • I think you're right! It's been so long, I forgot his name, but you saying the name brought it back to me.

  • yea..i'm pretty sure it's E-Love. He was just the same in concert.. LL lyrics often mention E-Love..aka Earl or just E. Last line of Radio should bring it back for you:

"Farmers Boulevard, yeah, you know that's where me and E hang out, cool

out, you know what I'm sayin'? That's where the crib's at."

  • @nichibeiken E Love's on the left, Cut Creator's on ur right with the radio.

    da relic

  • LL stole the show with this scene...real hip hop at its best.

  • WORD!, he realy went shit after about 1996

  • No he just went to a versatile thang, he the tightest. Exit 13 will be hiphop others were r and bish, thats all.

  • For real, complete shit. Nothin like the first two albums.

  • I'm sorry...the true star of this video is the dude in the (tight!) gray sweatsuit...his hand gestures are crazy!! LOL
