I was born and raised in Detroit and drove for D-DOT from 1996 to 2002 before becoming a Military Police Officer in the Army. The suspects adrenaline was pumping... you don't feel pain in such situations, so he probably tried to flee after the crash.

To me, it also looks like the busdriver is pushing the car to keep the door shut, preventing the suspect from escaping his wreck.

I saw the bus start moving and it looked like he was going to sandwich the guy between the police car and the bus so it could also have been to prevent him from fleeing like everyone else is saying.

If your in shock, its not something you really think about. The bus was stopped at the traffic light, and a car slams into you. if the bus gave it gas it would move forward, the bus is still in gear, the car suffered disabling damaged so it wouldnt go anywhere. Thanks for the compliment.
