IMHO, If you can't program then why try and make games and not just put out ideas? you would have 2 wait for things like this or darkBASIC witch will make real programmers frustrated because there idea they have been working on for the past 4 months has been stolen and rebuilt with crapper graphics design, basically everything by one of these mimic softwares.

good example tho is a game "singularity" it was stared into development years before the blockbuster title came out and snatched up the name. youtube it.

and im only 'bitter" because i think kids of this generation are dumb as nails, when my folks were kids we did WORK to keep us off the streets now people have xbox's and ps3's and they just complain getting fat and they need to learn how to do stuff CORRECT way and not take all the shortcuts they can.

Wtf is this? This is terrible, they simply took some features from Little Big Planet and used them for their terrible level creator, Little Big Planet's level creator is so much better, and Little Big Planet 2 will have even more customization, i guess this game is good if you don't have a PS3 and only have a 360, but other than that I see this game as a waste of money

I was making a FPS but i couldnt find a way to make a door. really ruined it for me. now im thinking something like a side scroller or something along those lines, but again kinda weak seeing how the bots wont look like anything i want (More human..?)

I'm a sucker for little programmable games like this so I grabbed it yesterday. In a matter of moments I managed to make a small soccer style game. It's fairly fun and I can see myself getting into it when I have a bit more time. Hopefully they continue to update it with more characters/sounds/objects etc.

Does it have a sophisticated physics engine, such as "phun?" Sandbox style programs/applications can entertain me for hours, but it has to be based on some very strong physics engine, otherwise it doesn't hold me.

With a key patches to address some of the limitations, as well as some DLC (as in more bots and scenery), this could develop quite a large user base that will continue to flourish if the game designers allow it too. It's a fantastic product to play with, but you can't help saying "if only.." while you're creating stuff.

My impressions of kodu is that its really great but for me its not enough.

If i had gotten this before i learned to program i would be all over it, but there are a few limitations that got on my nerves.

Mostly the fact that you can only have

one condition(when __ ) and one response per line.

Also i thought the user interface was kinda terrible, it was confusing to navigate around. Most likely this can be attributed to it being a controller instead of keyboard and mouse.

Kodu is just another community game, hence, there was no room left to include tutorial videos. They have the same space limits as everyone else.

That is true but they did not utilize all the available space, it must have been that they wanted it to cost 400 points, they couldve added more but it wouldve costed 800 points

They would have found a way. The majority of space for games is usually taken up by things like graphics and sound, and less for the code itself. It's possible with more optimizing on the field of graphics generation, they could have probably fit more "content" in. Though at the same time, last I checked Kodu I thought that it had too much of a "glut" of choice when it came to starter apps, so sometimes less is more.
