Everything is great in this segment, charisma, mic skills, intensity, even Briscoes bump outside! It's a shame Pillman never fully recovered from his injury, he would have been a major figure of the Attitude Era (and be still alive I guess) without this damn car accident.
I remember exactly how the NWO's beat down order would be Kevin Nash would do the Jack knife powerbomb,Scott Hall would do the Razors edge,Machoman would hit the flying elbow drop twice lol,6 pac would hit his move,by then the victom would be half dead so they would all hold him up to let the scrub members get their move off,and then finally Hollywood Hogan would do the classic leg drop sooo fuckin funny because it seemed like the guy was finally dead lol.
Funny as hell you dont see ass whoopins like this now a days. I remember all the best known ass whoopins in wrestling would take damn there 10 to 15 minuetes it seemed like. Today they hold back one chair stomp to the ankle or two chair shots to the head. I remember when a gang of wrestler would put their finishing moves on just one guy and it would be like six to seven dudes back in the NWO days lol damn I miss good ol fashioned beat downs.
When you're in a career threatening or even life threatening situation, you can always count on Bob Spark Plugg Holly and Alex Porteau to rescue you from your troubles
This was one of the most brutal beatings stone cold dished out beside the one to lita.... There's no wrestler that was as vicious as austin ever... His name fit him perfectly.
i was never a stone cold fan he was heel in 1996 how he was disrespectful bret was my childhood fan and hbk but i became stone cold fan in 1997 when was a face
lol @ Bob Holly finally making the save like he's a bad ass.
By the way, anybody got the clip with Austin & Perfect on commentary with JR, and Austin & Perfect get into it? It shoulda been right around this time.
Man, I know this stuff is scripted and planned out but Austin makes this shit seem so real. So much emotion. No wonder he is as big a legend as Hogan.
@isaiah41426 Austin was mostly heel in ECW and WCW , then heel for a long time in the WWE before he took off as a face, then once again turned heel during 2001
Those segments with the Hart foundation, stunning J.R., King and Slaughter. that was must see tv. same with the Rock when he was with the nation and his short stint with the corporation.
did pillman ever actually wrestle during his time at in the wwf? i only remember his promos and "the incident" ...then he was gonna have a grudge match against golddust....but then.....
@Venomex yep, he wrestled Goldust twice and a few times alongside The Hart Foundation....not to mention the matches where he had to compete in a dress.
@KissMeImPunk Its true, he was a member of the Hart Foundation. He joined them due to this incident where Stone Cold whipped the hell out of him and later tried to invade his home. He shared a common hatred for Stone Cold along with Bret, so it made sense for him to join.
Now why did they stop doing this type of stuff? In this brief period, Superstars didn't feel like an expendable B-show any more, but actually looked like a good show worth watching again. I've always thought stuff like Heat, Superstars, Velocity were wasted because they never gave people legitimate reasons to tune in. You provide a couple of hot angles every few weeks and people will want to tune in and they will get the good wrestling as a bonus.

This segment was shot because doctors had to re-break and re-set Pillman's ankle because it didn't heal properly the first time.
