  • I like the idea of the LAG preamp but you are defeating the purpose of your guitars natural sound. they sponsor this as "natural" sound. Well if it has presets then...it not natural. Also, you are plugged into the A2 which in itself already comes closer to your natural sound just tweaking it right. My opinion is, you should have invested in the Fishman Aura and saved yourself a lot of time. Once you go Aura, you go to nothing else. If you have a nice natural pickup already use the LR BAGGS DI

  • @randommiker You make a good point - using the inbuilt pre-amp it is impossible to output the natural sound of the guitar and you have no choice other than to accept the 5 treated output signals - not unless you use a separate mic or pickup of your own. However, I chose the LAG because I liked the guitar for itself and couldn't afford a more expensive parlour such as the one made by Faith.

  • @AlanSturgess I think you should focus more on learning how to use the A2. I have heard it can mimic what the Aura does, its just takes some serious tweaking. Even though the Aura is "Acoustic Impulse imaging", its can still come close to being mimic with the mic and modeling options on the A2. From what i hear, you can not use the modeling at full blast on a A2, only a little to get just enough body in there. All the StudioLag does is mess around with the EQ curves with more detailed curves.

  • @randommiker Interesting comments - however, the A2 wasn't the main point of the upload and once the intro was over, I disconnected it. After that, I only used the 5 presets on the LAG. At the time when I made it, I had been thinking about making a demo which featured just the A2 and my Faith jumbo but in the end I passed the Zoom onto a friend. There are plenty of good demos of A2 units and I didn't think I could do any better than the best of those.

  • Details as in the Info section. No dostortion at my end - but, of course, the intro features the Zoom unit. My sountrack sounds clean once the 5 preset demos begin.

No idea why your message shows up as having been posted 20 times. Maybe the latest Youtube tweaks have glitches .... hence my latest Youtube upload!

  • One thing I forgot -- the 5-setting pre-amp now used by LAG is a system that you will either like or not. I think the jury is still out on this issue. The settings are different but cannot be tweaked - so do you prefer that or do you prefer to adjust bands using a traditional on-board EQ system. With LAG's system you get one choice per style and that's it - any additional tweaks have to be done at the amp or desk.
