The way this thing works, is by having water at a known kh without any ph buffers you can figure out how much co2 is dissolved in the water, by monitoring the ph of the water. so if you have a kh of 4 and a ph between 6.6 and 6.9 you know that you have a co2 between 32 and 16 ppm, in other words as long as the liquid is green your plants will be happy. I prefer to use a kh of 8 in my test solution. I hope this helps. OK VIDEO could be better.
Just take 1 gallon of R/O water, get yourself some of baking soda and a KH water test kit, then measure the KH of the water before adding baking soda and start adding small quantities of baking soda until you get 4dKH. If your test throws the measure in ppm KH you will need to multiply by 0.056 in order to obtain dKH.
Great presentation. I think it is not safe to use a blade as you did, though. My sound doesn't work, thus need to know what did you glue the pieces together.

Edit!! Two minutes to make a hole? I saw a video on building an airplane from scratch that didn't take this long.

I really could not understand what this was all about due to lack of narration or any text provided.

Are those containers ok for an aquarium? The plastic isn't bad? Have you have and problems?

I took a few ideas off of your video to make one myself. Until i get myself a smaller bottle.

Considering that you were able to find your way here, its astonishing that you cannot read.

its a CO2 drop checker a.k.a bubble counter
IntegraGSR5 3 years ago
that right there is a fail comment.
learn your terminology please.
a drop checker will tell you the ph of water without touching the water.

specifically for checking the disolved CO2

Isnt this the same as the diy crack pipe

STOP BITING YOUR NAILS! it would cost me more to make that than it would just to buy one, worth doing if you already have the parts and tools i guess

oh I see, I dont have a c02 system yet I built the diy co2 this weekend, Im gonna try it out,I dont know how good it will do on a 55gallon reef tank.

what is this for? Im very experienced in marine tanks but Im unsure of what this does?
levigressett 4 years ago
It's to measure the amount CO2 dissolved in water for plants. It's only really useful if you're purposly injecting CO2 into your tank water.
