Rotary has been allowed in the LMP classes like since 2000 (and there have even been couple of cars, but not run by Mazda). Altough, it was never "banned" in the first place. This whole "banning" myth based on bullshit and repeated by ill-informed people. Decision in the World Sports-Prototype Championship to change to the 3.5L NA formula was decided already in 1990 if not earlier (Mazda won in 1991, remember). It was controversial but for entirely other reasons and had nothing to do with Mazda.
@mark6020cc This is beacuse it is a 2.6 liter 4 rotor engine, and each rotor has 1 combustion cycle per rotation. So in total, 4 combustion cycles per rotation for the whole engine. A v8 also has 4 combustion cycles per rotation. this sounds like a f1 v8 because of this. It acheives the sound at half the rpm's too because of its rotary nature.
@vkinn123 Mazda 787B Group C racing Car. Definitely not a prototype race car as group C was the dominate race class in road racing in the 80's and early 90's. Also the 787B won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1991 coming first overall.
@elnogga Yes. It's Cr. 5,600,000, but it's also the fastest LMP/Gr. C car around the bends, and with a small gear ratio change, it can be among the quickest on the straights as well.
No one knows of a material to build the eccentric shaft out of that won't snap under the force of any more than 4 rotors, not to mention how long it would be....
It would be like having a 32 Cylinder Engine... would it be awesome? Yes. But can you fathom that? 32 Cylinders...? That's a lot.
@kimnorkim Has been allowed at least since 2000. Altough, it was never banned in the first place. "Banning" and rule changes should not mixed up, especially rule changes that were decided likely 1-2 years before Mazda even won it's first and only race.
@sczu2580 Rotaries weren't banned but the Glass they competed in was. Group C racing class. It’s like Group N rally. Engine performance of some group C cars reaching 1000bhp added to the fact they weighted like 800kg meant dangerous performance for that ere in terms of driver and spectator safety.
@kimnorkim Heh, I'd actually like to see a few hydrogen powered rotaries compete in the next Le Mans, I bet they'd give the diesels a run for their money. Especially since they run even more efficiently with hydrogen than they do with gasoline and also since Le Mans is going with the whole "alternative fuel" push, and is, or is supposed to in the near future, also be allowing gas-electric hybrids run...
@kimnorkim OK, apparently they've already been allowing gaslone-electric hybrids run in Le Mans since 1998 with the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Q9 Hybrid...
So it looks like you can have any kind of engine you want other than a conventional gasoline or diesel engine, so long as it doesn't allow you to win...
Anyone that walks by this running car with their hands covering their ears should be banned from attending any racing events until they successfully complete a class on the appreciation of mechanical music.

cant increase the compression ratio as the chamber is long enough as it is and has trouble burning fuel off, hence the flames even on stock ported rotaries with no cat's. and the renesis motor doesnt take to boost like the 13BT/13BREW does due to the port design. and making the engine rev higher than 9k will be quite costly. only option is a nicely made 16x or triple rotor 16x.

LOL! Why am I being responded to so late? To the previous person before Vezm99, they acquired the rights. The design was made by Felix Wankel. Mazda just renovated the idea. They also designed a better intake and exhaust method than the one used by the original one.
Mazda only ever did this as a low budget part time affair, it was never a full-on campaign. People seem to think that it was always a proper attempt to win the championship and it wasn't, not when compared to the the teams. The rule wasn't "no rotaries" they simply took away a category which it could compete in, bringing the engines in line with other formula. Was it banned? That depends on how you look at it. No, but yes. It's a shame it's not there anymore, it's nice to see something different
@Mephiston1991 I believe it was a simple matter of not wanting to destroy a series. This engine rendered all piston racing engines obsolete. The same thing happened with the turbine cars at Indy. Both banned. Conversely, look how the turbo Porsche practically ended the great Can-Am series. I say bring back an unlimited pro road race series. Anything goes.
@jamesandrew2000 Yeah the Can-Am ended in '74 because of the frightening budget spent on the Porsche 917/30. No team could afford such expensive development, so there was no competition.
However I don't think this would happen at LM. We should remember that 787B's victory was also due to the other teams' failures: mechanically they were at the same level.
The 787B's banning wasn't a matter of money (Mercedes & Peugeot were far richer) but of innovation. And some people are afraid of innovation.
@Mephiston1991 "some people are afraid of innovation" That might be true, but there is also a practical aspect to banning the Mazda. Namely thinning out grids as the 917/30 did. The turbine Indy cars were banned mainly because promoters thought their lack of noise diminished the spectator excitement. Two stroke GP motorcycles, banned because the street versions were being dropped from catalogs. Who knows why regulations are ultimately altered, but for sure they have made a mess of F1.
@jamesandrew2000 You mean that money was mainly the cause of 787B to be banned, as well as the other mishaps you mentioned? Do you mean that Mazda's victory would generate the decreasing of enthusiasts coming to LM with their money to be devolved to ACO and FIA?
Yes, someone who can make important decisions must have thought that. And the rotary would never be used at LM again.
I really agree with the fact that F1 messes up with regs. It's a symptom of instability. But I keep on liking it..
@Mephiston1991 I'm sorry that my only language is English (american). So I think our slightly different opinions might be lost in translation. Go!!!!!!!! Rossi e Ducati !
@jamesandrew2000 "This engine rendered all piston racing engines obsolete. "
"Rendered obsolete" - what a load of crap! I suggest you to checkout the championship results for 1991 and for the previous years. Despite the Le Mans win, a rotary engine was never the dominant force in Group C. Until Le Mans 91, it could be said Mazda was only moderate effort. I have nothing against Mazda or wankels but I just like stick to facts and racing results are facts.
@FormulaOneSpy Firstly, chill the fuck out. Save the histrionics for some monster truck videos. If you read my posts you'll find I was simply wondering aloud why the FIA would ban this rotary powered car. If this type of engine ran the full 24 hour race with little or no engine wear what does that mean for a piston powered racer? You say stick to the facts, The comment about the turbine indy cars banned for being too quiet is not a "fact" though written about extensively as an issue .
@jamesandrew2000 I don't understand your question. What did it mean for a rotary powered car that piston engines had won every Le Mans and World Championship race until 1991 Le Mans? Like I said, check the results from 1991 Championship, from the previous seasons and previous Le Mans races to see the bigger picture.
@FormulaOneSpy Someone wrote that this engine had been banned after winning LeMans. Based on that comment I surmised that the FIA might have banned it to preserve the series. The logic behind my 'guess' is that if relatively simple rotary engines could beat highly developed, complicated piston engines, some race teams wouldn't make the switch to rotary. I make the comparison to the great MV Agusta and Ducati fading away when the 2 stroke GP bike era dawned. Anyway, thanks for the insight.
@jamesandrew2000 Ok, I thought you read my earlier replies to "Mephiston1991". In those I explain why there's is no logic behind this "banning theory" and it is completely unfounded. Back in the day merely a coincidence, today a myth...
@FormulaOneSpy If there was only one podium finish for the 787b what ended its development? I'm not at all a rotary fan, but the looks and sound of this car is fantastic.
@jamesandrew2000 The rule changes for 1992, which were put in place before 1991 season even started. Surely Mazda team knew it was going to be eligible only for 1991, altough 787B was an evo of the earlier 787.
Mazda actually continued to 1992 season but that new car was basically rebranded Jaguar because the chassis was build by TWR and V10 engine was bought from Judd. They also build a new rotary-powered car for IMSA but since IMSA series collapsed too it sadly only ran one race as a test.
@Mephiston1991 Sorry, but you're so wrong. Outlawing rotary is not related to Mazda's Le Mans victory:
1) The ill-fated 3.5-litre formula for 1992 was planned possibly as early as in 1989 (yes, that would be TWO years before Mazda's victory). 1991 was already a transition year and some teams such as Mercedes and Jaguar were testing new engines. If you insist on saying "rotary was banned", then you have to so was Mercedes', Nissan's, Toyota's, Porsche turbo engines and Jaguar's V12s.
@Mephiston1991 2) The premise for this conspiracy theory is that Mazda was "banned" because it was too good. Would be acceptable point, if it was true. Besides 1991 Le Mans, Mazda never won any other race. Not to mention championships. Great car and so on, I'm even not dissing but I'm just asking why would they ban something that was not dominant in the first place!?
@MrSpeedFiend Yeh right! exactly what do you think they changed to disadvantage the rotary? bearing in mind they were already streaching the rules to the limit in order compete with 'perennial powerhouses'?
@MrSpeedFiend Forgot couple of minor details? 1. Not only rotaries were outlawed, but every other type of engine that wasn't a naturally aspirated 3.5 litre engine. 2. This change must have been known already in mid-1990 because season '91 was a transition year, thus the "banning" was merely a coincidence 3. Mazda used rotary engines for years in World Sportscar Championship. Le Mans '91 remains its only victory. It's just a statistic fact.
Nothing against Mazda. I just like sticking to facts.
i forget, it was blue and white, there was an LM version and a street version, the LM version had front spoilers right above headlights that stuck up like flaps...pretty cool.
True, at least for Formula 1. The Japanese (Honda) would have presented superpowerful V8's, capable of running over 21000RPM, thus achieveng good performance even with their medium chassis. But then FIA first restricted the engine making rules and then freezed them. With this, the Japanese lost their hopes and advantage in a sector they re good (making engines). And so, they retired...and now we struggle to know whether Campos or USF1 will make it to the sport...
there chassis wasn't mediocre, the brawns where superior all season long without development during the season, even with that last minute bodgejob of a merc engine in the back
Yeap, at least they made it right, albeit they sold the team to Brawn. This does not change the rule of the previous years that the japanese did not have competitive chassis, in an era that the chassis makes the difference and not the engine.
@BigPatViggen There is no strict parity in displacement in ALMS or 24 races. You have the 7litre v8s against 5.5 litre turbo diesel v12s thats not why they banned the 787s.
@damonlandsdown They won Le Mans but not in a dominating way. In 1991 in 8 races Mazdaspeed team with the 787B were 5th in the World Championship, clearly behind Jaguar, Peugeot, Mercedes and even one private Spice-Cosworth. That's not "too good". And see my other reply here about the so called "banning" because it never happened. Seriously.
@DodgeVip3r The Nissan Gtr entered Australian touring cars about 1990, they changed the rules to some sort of fred flintstone catagory, to exclude it. The format sucks, might as well be Nascar, just catering to Red Neck hicks
@DodgeVip3r Okay, I'm a huge 787b fan... but Japanese innovation and dominance? Firstly, a German (Felix Wankel) invented the rotary/wankel engine. Not the Japanese. Secondly, when was the last time Japan dominated any real form of racing? The Le Mans win was great and all, but does one race constitute "dominance of motorsport"? LOL If there is a dominant motorsport nation, it's the UK. And no, I'm not British.
@k4lpcm well maybe it doesnt qualify as "dominance of motorsport", but in this particular instance i think that the 787b was obviously superior to its peers
Uh, motorcycle racing in the 70's, 80's and 90's (and one could argue now too) is pretty much dominated by Japanese motorcycles.
Also, Honda used to dominate CART racing in the late 90's. Today all IndyCars use Honda engines, and the last 6 Indy500 has gone to Honda powered cars.
In the 80's Honda was the best turbo engine in F1, and later it won the 3 first non-turbo F1 seasons starting from 1989.
But true enough, Great Britain has innovated the most things in modern racing.
The rotary isn't Japanese innovation, its German innovation. Felix Heinrich Wankel was the inventor of the rotary engine, Mazda just bought the rights to it.
@DodgeVip3r yea its sad, but the rotary engine was invented in Germany and perfected and addoptet by the japanese (mazda). So its not technically a japanese innovation its improoved by them.
@Raptorx007 Agree, it is even more sad that everyone hailed the rotary design as the new powerplant of choice and manufacturers all bought rights to build and perfect the design then they said fuck it.
@dandamansrandomvids they changed for a lot of reasons and were changing whether or not there was a rotary out there. Many manufacturers had to change engines, not just mazda
its kinda funny how they wouldnt let them use the rotory seeing that its smaller, i would allow smaller engines than the regulation, i guess they were afraid of the rotory
i love this car. but it is not the fastest car ever or this and that all these claims...it qualified 12th in the race it won.
the reason that this car was outlawed is because the rotary motors make just as much hp as a turbo gas motor at half the weight this car could still race but not the motor.
there is a sad conclusion to draw here. when hemis first started to win nascar they were banned. when the norton rotary engined bikes dominated the gp's of their time, they were outlawed. mazda 787? exactly the same. it makes you wonder why the diesels havent been forbidden yet?
Its the whole "Environmentally Friendly" thing that the diesels have going for them. You want clean, burn alcohol and ethonol like they do in F1 and Indy Car, so long as they still run under the same FIA specs.
The 787 had reliability over its competition. What gets me is why none of the other auto makers tried to step-up and make a better car. Nope. Like mindless drones they idly sit back while the governing body deals with it.
The 787 4 bank rotor had to be detuned to 700HP because the engineers calculated the gear box would last longer and provide better fuel economy. The engine was rated at producing 900HP without turbo charging with power to weight ratio to boot. Haha With todays Gear box technology the 787 would kick ass big time.
I'm a little curious what the size in liters the motor was. Good way to feed some Muscle car assholes some shit. 900hp is fucking intense for a naturally aspirated engine that, as I imagine, is relatively small (to american standards)
its like having two 13b engines with a custom made shaft that makes it a 2.6lt engine. pretty awesome for a small naturally aspirated engine. imagine having two 20b engines 6 bank rotor(4lt) twin turbo charged, you could get over 2000hp easy.
sounds like a 20b pp

The #55 Mazda 787B '91 winner was the ultimate development of Mazda's presence through 20 years of the Le Mans 24 hours race.
They worked hard for that achievement. And they were banned as soon as they won. :' - (
I suppose there's someone who found uncomfortable Mazda to win once more.
Mephiston1991 1 year ago
@Mephiston1991 I believe it was a simple matter of not wanting to destroy a series. This engine rendered all piston racing engines obsolete. The same thing happened with the turbine cars at Indy. Both banned. Conversely, look how the turbo Porsche practically ended the great Can-Am series. I say bring back an unlimited pro road race series. Anything goes.
jamesandrew2000 1 year ago
@jamesandrew2000 Yeah the Can-Am ended in '74 because of the frightening budget spent on the Porsche 917/30. No team could afford such expensive development, so there was no competition.
However I don't think this would happen at LM. We should remember that 787B's victory was also due to the other teams' failures: mechanically they were at the same level.
The 787B's banning wasn't a matter of money (Mercedes & Peugeot were far richer) but of innovation. And some people are afraid of innovation.
Mephiston1991 1 year ago
@Mephiston1991 "some people are afraid of innovation" That might be true, but there is also a practical aspect to banning the Mazda. Namely thinning out grids as the 917/30 did. The turbine Indy cars were banned mainly because promoters thought their lack of noise diminished the spectator excitement. Two stroke GP motorcycles, banned because the street versions were being dropped from catalogs. Who knows why regulations are ultimately altered, but for sure they have made a mess of F1.
jamesandrew2000 1 year ago
@jamesandrew2000 You mean that money was mainly the cause of 787B to be banned, as well as the other mishaps you mentioned? Do you mean that Mazda's victory would generate the decreasing of enthusiasts coming to LM with their money to be devolved to ACO and FIA?
Yes, someone who can make important decisions must have thought that. And the rotary would never be used at LM again.
I really agree with the fact that F1 messes up with regs. It's a symptom of instability. But I keep on liking it..

jamesandrew2000 1 year ago
@jamesandrew2000 "This engine rendered all piston racing engines obsolete. "
"Rendered obsolete" - what a load of crap! I suggest you to checkout the championship results for 1991 and for the previous years. Despite the Le Mans win, a rotary engine was never the dominant force in Group C. Until Le Mans 91, it could be said Mazda was only moderate effort. I have nothing against Mazda or wankels but I just like stick to facts and racing results are facts.
FormulaOneSpy 1 year ago
@FormulaOneSpy Firstly, chill the fuck out. Save the histrionics for some monster truck videos. If you read my posts you'll find I was simply wondering aloud why the FIA would ban this rotary powered car. If this type of engine ran the full 24 hour race with little or no engine wear what does that mean for a piston powered racer? You say stick to the facts, The comment about the turbine indy cars banned for being too quiet is not a "fact" though written about extensively as an issue .
jamesandrew2000 1 year ago
@jamesandrew2000 I don't understand your question. What did it mean for a rotary powered car that piston engines had won every Le Mans and World Championship race until 1991 Le Mans? Like I said, check the results from 1991 Championship, from the previous seasons and previous Le Mans races to see the bigger picture.
I wasn't referring to your Indy Cars comment.
FormulaOneSpy 1 year ago
@FormulaOneSpy Someone wrote that this engine had been banned after winning LeMans. Based on that comment I surmised that the FIA might have banned it to preserve the series. The logic behind my 'guess' is that if relatively simple rotary engines could beat highly developed, complicated piston engines, some race teams wouldn't make the switch to rotary. I make the comparison to the great MV Agusta and Ducati fading away when the 2 stroke GP bike era dawned. Anyway, thanks for the insight.
jamesandrew2000 1 year ago
@jamesandrew2000 Ok, I thought you read my earlier replies to "Mephiston1991". In those I explain why there's is no logic behind this "banning theory" and it is completely unfounded. Back in the day merely a coincidence, today a myth...
FormulaOneSpy 1 year ago
@FormulaOneSpy If there was only one podium finish for the 787b what ended its development? I'm not at all a rotary fan, but the looks and sound of this car is fantastic.
jamesandrew2000 1 year ago
@jamesandrew2000 The rule changes for 1992, which were put in place before 1991 season even started. Surely Mazda team knew it was going to be eligible only for 1991, altough 787B was an evo of the earlier 787.
Mazda actually continued to 1992 season but that new car was basically rebranded Jaguar because the chassis was build by TWR and V10 engine was bought from Judd. They also build a new rotary-powered car for IMSA but since IMSA series collapsed too it sadly only ran one race as a test.
FormulaOneSpy 1 year ago
@Mephiston1991 Sorry, but you're so wrong. Outlawing rotary is not related to Mazda's Le Mans victory:
1) The ill-fated 3.5-litre formula for 1992 was planned possibly as early as in 1989 (yes, that would be TWO years before Mazda's victory). 1991 was already a transition year and some teams such as Mercedes and Jaguar were testing new engines. If you insist on saying "rotary was banned", then you have to so was Mercedes', Nissan's, Toyota's, Porsche turbo engines and Jaguar's V12s.
FormulaOneSpy 1 year ago
@Mephiston1991 2) The premise for this conspiracy theory is that Mazda was "banned" because it was too good. Would be acceptable point, if it was true. Besides 1991 Le Mans, Mazda never won any other race. Not to mention championships. Great car and so on, I'm even not dissing but I'm just asking why would they ban something that was not dominant in the first place!?

damonlandsdown 1 year ago
@MrSpeedFiend Forgot couple of minor details? 1. Not only rotaries were outlawed, but every other type of engine that wasn't a naturally aspirated 3.5 litre engine. 2. This change must have been known already in mid-1990 because season '91 was a transition year, thus the "banning" was merely a coincidence 3. Mazda used rotary engines for years in World Sportscar Championship. Le Mans '91 remains its only victory. It's just a statistic fact.
Nothing against Mazda. I just like sticking to facts.

They have changed rules in Europe, USA and even Australia to eliminate Japanese innovation and dominance of motorsport.
DodgeVip3r 2 years ago 99
True, at least for Formula 1. The Japanese (Honda) would have presented superpowerful V8's, capable of running over 21000RPM, thus achieveng good performance even with their medium chassis. But then FIA first restricted the engine making rules and then freezed them. With this, the Japanese lost their hopes and advantage in a sector they re good (making engines). And so, they retired...and now we struggle to know whether Campos or USF1 will make it to the sport...
tifosaurus 2 years ago
@tifosaurus
there chassis wasn't mediocre, the brawns where superior all season long without development during the season, even with that last minute bodgejob of a merc engine in the back
rasmAn2 2 years ago
Yeap, at least they made it right, albeit they sold the team to Brawn. This does not change the rule of the previous years that the japanese did not have competitive chassis, in an era that the chassis makes the difference and not the engine.

@DodgeVip3r
Oh puh-lease...
Mazda ran the Rotaries in ALMS 2-3 years back, and ripped them out and replaced them with an MZR-derived 4 cylinder instead.
The problem with rotaries was that difficult in acheiving parity with regards to displacement, as most rules are written at the moment.
BigPatViggen 1 year ago
@BigPatViggen There is no strict parity in displacement in ALMS or 24 races. You have the 7litre v8s against 5.5 litre turbo diesel v12s thats not why they banned the 787s.
DodgeVip3r 1 year ago
@DodgeVip3r the 787's were just too good.. seriously, thats why they banned them from LM
damonlandsdown 1 year ago
@damonlandsdown They won Le Mans but not in a dominating way. In 1991 in 8 races Mazdaspeed team with the 787B were 5th in the World Championship, clearly behind Jaguar, Peugeot, Mercedes and even one private Spice-Cosworth. That's not "too good". And see my other reply here about the so called "banning" because it never happened. Seriously.
deggis4 1 year ago
@DodgeVip3r Not necessarily Japanese domination, but definately innovation.
B0SSNINE 1 year ago
@DodgeVip3r The Nissan Gtr entered Australian touring cars about 1990, they changed the rules to some sort of fred flintstone catagory, to exclude it. The format sucks, might as well be Nascar, just catering to Red Neck hicks
pclarky 1 year ago
@DodgeVip3r Okay, I'm a huge 787b fan... but Japanese innovation and dominance? Firstly, a German (Felix Wankel) invented the rotary/wankel engine. Not the Japanese. Secondly, when was the last time Japan dominated any real form of racing? The Le Mans win was great and all, but does one race constitute "dominance of motorsport"? LOL If there is a dominant motorsport nation, it's the UK. And no, I'm not British.
k4lpcm 1 year ago
@k4lpcm well maybe it doesnt qualify as "dominance of motorsport", but in this particular instance i think that the 787b was obviously superior to its peers
rageagainst89 1 year ago
@k4lpcm
McLarenMercedes 1 year ago
@k4lpcm a german invented it but the Japanese refined and simplified it
guevodeplomo 1 year ago
@DodgeVip3r
The rotary isn't Japanese innovation, its German innovation. Felix Heinrich Wankel was the inventor of the rotary engine, Mazda just bought the rights to it.
You have to love the simplicity of it.

@johnyjoe2k The design developed by felix wankel used a steel apex seal. Mazda did all the other R&D.

@johnyjoe2k The Japs actually put it in cars though instead of just using it as a water pump :D
Gota thank Felix and Mazda for this.
Vezm99 1 year ago
@DodgeVip3r yea its sad, but the rotary engine was invented in Germany and perfected and addoptet by the japanese (mazda). So its not technically a japanese innovation its improoved by them.
Raptorx007 11 months ago
@Raptorx007 Agree, it is even more sad that everyone hailed the rotary design as the new powerplant of choice and manufacturers all bought rights to build and perfect the design then they said fuck it.
battleborn7 11 months ago
@dandamansrandomvids they changed for a lot of reasons and were changing whether or not there was a rotary out there. Many manufacturers had to change engines, not just mazda

this is a monster!!!
wattefukk 2 years ago
i love this car. but it is not the fastest car ever or this and that all these claims...it qualified 12th in the race it won.
the reason that this car was outlawed is because the rotary motors make just as much hp as a turbo gas motor at half the weight this car could still race but not the motor.
25evets 2 years ago 6
it was never outlawed.... The regulations changed to 3.5 liter engines, all motors that didn't fit this restriction were "outlawed."
gtiiiiiiii 2 years ago
there is a sad conclusion to draw here. when hemis first started to win nascar they were banned. when the norton rotary engined bikes dominated the gp's of their time, they were outlawed. mazda 787? exactly the same. it makes you wonder why the diesels havent been forbidden yet?
anratse 2 years ago 5
Its the whole "Environmentally Friendly" thing that the diesels have going for them. You want clean, burn alcohol and ethonol like they do in F1 and Indy Car, so long as they still run under the same FIA specs.
The 787 had reliability over its competition. What gets me is why none of the other auto makers tried to step-up and make a better car. Nope. Like mindless drones they idly sit back while the governing body deals with it.

darkeyce02 2 years ago
The 787 4 bank rotor had to be detuned to 700HP because the engineers calculated the gear box would last longer and provide better fuel economy. The engine was rated at producing 900HP without turbo charging with power to weight ratio to boot. Haha With todays Gear box technology the 787 would kick ass big time.
jbond193 2 years ago 5
I'm a little curious what the size in liters the motor was. Good way to feed some Muscle car assholes some shit. 900hp is fucking intense for a naturally aspirated engine that, as I imagine, is relatively small (to american standards)
Gtype 2 years ago 2
its like having two 13b engines with a custom made shaft that makes it a 2.6lt engine. pretty awesome for a small naturally aspirated engine. imagine having two 20b engines 6 bank rotor(4lt) twin turbo charged, you could get over 2000hp easy.
