With the amount of violence going on in the city, how else are the police supposed to respond? They don't know if this guy in the white shirt and hat is going to attack the officer (who is doing his job of arresting another man), and then the white shirt guy comes at the officer a 2nd time? I think the cop had every right to handle it the way he did. It was (apparently) 3 officers against a crowd of drunk people. I think they handled it appropriately.

Kelly Thomas, homeless man, was beaten to death last year by six policeman while the crowd stood by helpless. Several of the cops are being prosecuted due to the recordings made of their actions. In this clip I am very interested in the comment made that those witness recording the police actions were arrested? Was their only involvement that of standing by recording? Police always hate being recorded because it makes it harder for them to lie about their actions.

I t could be ...out of context...if drinking was involved. Was 3rd street? However no way a cop should be losing control and choking someone.

Don't take it lightly. DCP is #3 in the worst in the country for a reason.

But...if they were drunk...it heightens a situation. Seems like it got out of control on both sides...I have dealt with Harrisburg Police when I got mugged and shoved to the pavement.

Keep an open mind and let's see. Because, Harrisburg is...not a great place to hang out or live.

well thats why you dont interfere when a cop is making an arrest. Of course your going to be shoved back. And as for attacking the guys for videotaping thats not what they got arrested for the cop says in the video that it would result in a charge if the crowd didnt disperse. And as for the filmer being attacked.... well I didnt see him get attacked. For all we know he could have tripped backing up on the sidewalk. Wouldnt be the first time its happened to a person.

The real brutality comes when they start attacking people for videotaping, I spoke to one of the people on the scene, who stated the cop broke a person's wrist for videotaping. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy in public, for regular citizens or police. You are allowed to record police and citizens in public in this commonwealth.

! The video speaks for itself... law enforcement taken to the extreme! The kid in the white jacket was not displaying any violence and yet he was shoved away violently, and then physically intimidated by the police 'officer'. It is brutality, plain and simple!

@Titan52berg if you watch closely he tripped, and the cop did not push him that hard, was not outside of reasonable force requirement. The guy was interfering with the arrest and approaching on the officers pistol side, making him a threat to the arrest. Now when the officer slams him against the hood it's because he tried twice to interfere, but the cop does not have his hands wrapped around his neck, as you can see his fingers are on his shoulders. he did leave him alone when he walked off.

YES! I am very proud of the individual who actually "tried" to do something OTHER than stand around and watch!! I would venture to say that if only half of those standing around cheering and so on, would have done the same, perhaps a real statement would have been made, instead of "He was obviously intoxicated and didn't even know where he was". People want to bitch about this stuff, but they will watch someone be murdered by cops before doing what is right and at least trying to help.
