  • i wish i was free

  • I love it! I felt sorry for the cat :)

  • @MarthaMyDear64 Thank you. I made this film for my cat. When we moved to a new house with a busy street outside, she was no longer allowed to go outside and didn't understand why. I promised her we'd move back to the forest some day. Last year, we did and she could finally go outside again after 6 years of being stuck indoors. She passed away two weeks ago and I'm still grieving her but at least for that last year, she was once again free.

  • thank you for this miracle!

    like it very much

  • Very good :)

  • awe i luv it

  • Excellent! I love the surprise ending.

  • Ah, Premiere. Betcha it crashed about 50,000 times before you managed to finish your cartoon!!!!

    :) (Shinygrape from LJ)

  • I was using the last Mac version (6.0) and it surprisingly wasn't too bad (compared to 4 and 6 on Windows, which were crashtastic!)

BTW, I forgot to say that I really enjoyed your film! I'll go ping it now. :)

  • mmm I love it. I saw your post on LJ Animation. The pacing is slow but it works with the music and the mood created really well, so I just sit back and just AM patient while I watch. Some of your cat poses were really on target, keep it up :)

  • Yeah. It is kind of slow and some of the animation is really stiff. This was my first big hand-drawn project. Thanks for the kind words though. :)

  • How did you creae this animation? What program or steps did you use? I love the feel of it.

  • Sorry for not responding sooner.

It's a combination of many things. I drew everything in ink and charcoal on paper, and photographed it on my animation stand with a digital camera and a program called Frame Thief.

Then I had a filter in photoshop to pull the character off the page. Then I assembled the shots in Adobe After Effects (since it has precise camera control)

And finally did the timing, composition, and credits in Premiere.

  • Bravo! Great Job!
