What a SHARP woman- I am blown away by the Obama Family. Down to earth, good natured people! I am "totally impressed" and those words rarely come out of my mouth!
I started my comment last nite. Now after hearing Hillary I am even more happy about the direction our country is headed in. It is not a stretch to think of a woman in The White House. It is not a stretch to think of a non-white in The White House. Hillary did a superb job and voters who supported her should throw their support to the Obama camp. We should not vote based on the concept of gender or race, we should vote based on desire for a better future, economy, healthcare, int'l relations...
Heard the speech on the radio first (KPFA) ... then the CNN rerun overnight... nice to see this look behind the scene! January 20th, 2009, can't get here soon enough!
These are the type people I want to see in the White House. People who are hard working earned what they have and were not handed everything on a silver platter. Michelle has a grace about her that so much reminds me of Jackie Kennedy. Barack,I believe, has the courrage to lead this Country in a new and better direction. OBAMA 08
She has keen intellect, leadership skills, beauty and is clearly a woman of exemplary loyalty to her husband and family. And yet, Mrs. Obama chooses to place the full force of all she has on a bet that our entire country will benefit as greatly as she may have singularly just being Barack Obama's wife. What a gal! The prospect of a future America with them a the helm seems suddenly encouraging. Let's pull together and recognize the worthiness in ourselves as a nation worth sacrificing for.
I think that Michelle's speech is just as good if not better than Barack's speeches. These are people who know what America is all about. These aren't people who are foreign to us but these are the people who would live next door to you and would invite you over to their Bar-B-Q. You're typical American family whose parents have worked hard and they themselves have worked hard to get where they are today. They fight for all of us. Better economy, better policy, cleaner planet!!
Really, behind of a great man ..there is a great woman... sen. Barack Obama isn't just president for USA but for all America... ...Michelle talks with the heart for America... it is portrayed so well in her magnific speech.
We wants you! And as sayed the biggest poet Portuguese language, Fernando Pessoa, 'the sail is need', I say: Barack Obama is need!!!
I'm one of the least emotional people ever but I have to admit, I was moved to tears. Michelle is a strong, beautiful and inspirational person. She knocked this one out of the park!

Michelle Obama truly impressed me, I think she'll make a great first-lady. The mother and father raised her right, she's very smart, and she's very well educated. I also thought she was very sincere, speaking from the heart.
Michelle Obama: WOW!! my wife and I watched you from Modesto, CA. Your speech was very positive, uplifting, full of hope for all of us, I literally got "goose-bumps" listening to you.. I told my wife that we were witnessing history in the making, and I sure hope Barack Obama becomes our next president.
OUR COUNTRY NEEDS CHANGE!! THE SOONER THE BETTER. God bless you for trying to make such a difference, and we think your two little girls are so cute. WAY TO GO MICHELLE.
I tell people all the time to watch CSPAN. CSPAN is completely uninterrupted and no talking heads. Michelle was wonderful! If you can still feel like you don't like her or know her you have a hole in your soul. I love that family.
Michelle did a terrific job last night but media bias lingers, Nancy pelosi and Sen. Claire threw a lot of porches but media bias like CNN and FOX news failed to cover them.CNN is so bias they couldn't even cover the House Speaker Pelosi, and Sen. Claire's speeches-- It is obviously who CNN is supporting. I can't get it why they couldn't cover House speaker's speech--pathetic. The same thing CNN was doing 8 and 4 years that got stupid man elected twice.
oh maybe you aren't sorry. It just seemed like alot of positive comments, not the usual republican tards. Anyway that was a wonderful speech and I almost cried. I didnt get to see Kennedy or Pelosi, I hope someone posts it here.

Now here we are 43 years later with not only the right to vote, but the right to have a firmly elected seat in the Oval Office! I am so proud of our Nation - we have come a long way. Michelle spoke tonight from her heart. She was absolutely astounding. Color or how she looks doesn't matter (beautiful and classy) - her intelligence and alligiance to the flag was evident. People in those countries that can afford to come to the US for operations do so because they have to get in line and wait. There is no incentive for the people to work. They get paid no matter what. Have you ever visited your local court house? The gov. is good at making you get in line. You wait your turn while the people working there chat and get their coffee at a casual pace. If healthcare goes to to this format. We are screwed.
WireFro: YOu are sadly another victim of the GOP attack machine. Though I'm an independent, the one thing I like about democrats is that they never refer to the opposition as the enemy. You and people like you are so ignorant that you cannot get past Barack's middle name. In your pathetic little brain, Obama is a secret muslim terrorist who will bring down the country. That is all the excuse you need to vote for a man who voted with Bush 90% of the time.
He is an AMERICAN who happens to be of a diffrent opinion than yours. He simply believes the country needs to move in a diffrent direction. Given the state of OUR great nation,I tend to agree. How many more scandals , court cases, faluiers of this administration will it take before you see that the majority of the policies under republican rule have failed miserably.
do you mind if someone else tried a diffrent strategy?
What does the quality of health care in the UK have to do with the USA? Affordable health care: Is $8 a month too much to pay? That is what it costs if it costs anything. Poor people get free stuff in the USA. Unless you are a white male.
What does health care in the UK have to do with the US. Well if you look at the models that currently are already implimented i.e. the UK, Canada...it's not so great.
i wish those of the republican party would explain to me why I should vote for ANY republican. If their policies were of any good, John McMcain could just stand up in front of a camera and say "America I'm running on the success of our party's last 7 years. Domesticly, internationally, and morally. Case closed. They did have absolute power for that long. Both houses, and the Presidency. Is the country better off.
ahh wait....the democrates have held both houses for over the past two years. What have they done? The answer is nothing. I think they've done nothing because they want Bush to look as bad as they possibly can. And it happens at our expense.
I don't trust any politician. Why do you? DOn't get so caught up in all the political hype becuase that's all it is. All politicians say things so they keep their jobs. Otherwise, they may have to go out and get a job like the rest of us.
Socialized health care=you wait in line for your turn for an operation, if you can't live long enough, well.....that's the way it goes. I know for a fact. I know a family in the UK this happened to. She couldn't afford to come here for an opertaion and she died waiting her turn. You want the government to take care of you? Hmm, they aren't very good at running anything. I want the government to make our country safe and keep our jobs and money here. You cant help others when you are down and out
I agree, the current Gov could'nt find it's own butt with three hands, because it's leaders are incompetent and to busy handing out no bid contracts. This is what you get when you privatize jobs that the Gov use to do.
THE GREATEST SPEECH BY AN AMERICAN FEMALE EVER! AND I DARE SOMEONE TO COME UP WITH ONE THAT BEATS IT!
WE LOVE YOU MICHELLE! If you cannot be convinced by Teddy and Michelle, then we dont want you. We are fighting for a better tomorrow, and only the strong need apply. GOD BLESS!
After her speech tonite, I wish she was running for president. Based on that speech, i'd vote 4 her in a New York second. I do like her husband though too. He's not so bad either. Win Win Win. Beat McCain....please...
haha... I love the obamas! I really hope Barack becomes our next president. He will be a much better one then Mccain that's going to die in a couple years anyways.
Unless you make more than 120k per year, you're paying less under Obama than under McCain. Nice try, though. Obama's tax system is less for 80% of the country, at least.
I watched Michelle tonight via MSNBC online on Huffington post, as well as recorded it on TV. Her speech was powerful and beautiful! At times her words brought me tears while also seeing her mom there too. I also LOVED hearing Barack speak to his wife and daughters from Kansas City. THAT was priceless! I can hardly wait to cast my vote and with confidence for Barack Obama as our President on Nov 4th 2008!
OBAMA / BIDEN 08! (or my family is leaving this country!)
Thank you SO much, Michelle! You gave the best speech and best presence of any first lady I've ever heard!! We can hardly wait until Barack, you, and your lovely daughters are in the White House!! We're working hard in our communities giving Barack support! (Republicans AND Democrats for Barack!) And God Bless your father and mother, too!
That was probably the best speech I've heard from a candidate's spouse ever. It was riveting.
But overall, you need to start hitting the Republicans hard Democrats, and tonight was a big 0 for 1. Nice Ted Kennedy stuff and a great Michelle speech, but they're going to be spending their four days bashing our faces in while we stand around feeling warm and fuzzy.
Come on Democrats! Get Mad! Tell us why the BUMS SHOULD BE VOTED OUT!
fist-pound!! If only there was a First Lady debate where we could put Ms. Cindy "I was too high on prescription meds to care for my infant children whose names, if you asked, I'd probably forget just like the number of siblings (and homes) I have" McCain, next to Michelle. sorry, just dreaming.
Gushfest over the tough childhood you and your angry husband had...save it please. I also grew up as lower middle class and paid my entire way through a state university. Why are you both still whining about how horrible this country is to you both? You're both ingrates!
What are you talking about? I've never heard either one say this country is horrible in the way you are suggeting. But putting our heads in the sand because we are not on the streets is not going to solve anything either. This country has to go in a different direction, regardless of who the next President happens to be. There IS an energy crisis, the military is overextended (according to Gen. Powell) and some troops have to come out of Iraq, public education needs reform. Change is coming!
Well, your lower middle class background don't show up much in your bitter comment!
You represents exactly what's wrong in America! People who looks down on other.
Unlike you Barack and Michelle want to raise awereness of the disparities that still exist between those who have and those who don't; and actually start to do something about it!
Sorry, your cinisism won't stop the change,...not this time, not in this election!
Your Speech Was BYUTE=TEE=FULL!

don't let the fox news haters bother you, Michelle. Good luck.

fist-pound!!

You're both ingrates!
aprillh 3 years ago
What are you talking about? I've never heard either one say this country is horrible in the way you are suggeting. But putting our heads in the sand because we are not on the streets is not going to solve anything either. This country has to go in a different direction, regardless of who the next President happens to be. There IS an energy crisis, the military is overextended (according to Gen. Powell) and some troops have to come out of Iraq, public education needs reform. Change is coming!

yah you grew up as lower middle class and still act like it
maha77 3 years ago
Well, your lower middle class background don't show up much in your bitter comment!
You represents exactly what's wrong in America! People who looks down on other.
Unlike you Barack and Michelle want to raise awereness of the disparities that still exist between those who have and those who don't; and actually start to do something about it!
Sorry, your cinisism won't stop the change,...not this time, not in this election!
