I love how this song carries so much emotion. It conveys Billy and Penny's contrasting views perfectly.

I think this is my favorite song from the musical. The ups and downs of it, their parts.... agh, it's so beautiful and bittersweet. I love both of their voices; something in particular about Penny's is just so innocent and kind, like the way she sings "hope".

If you think about this song also, it is about the dual nature of humanity, where Dr. Horrible represents the evil and destructive nature of humanity, and Penny is the constructive and positive nature of humanity. It is really brilliant to even notice this antinomy.
