Well Nick has had pretty good shows (ATLA for one) So 2012 might be a banner year for Nick cartoons with the new TMNT and LoK coming out. either way Nick can do good shows. so as a TMNT fan I'll hope that it's as good as 03

Part of the pre-emptive cautiousness could arguably come from the dynamic changes that came with the style of Nickelodeon's programming in the last few decades - changes from shows about average-person type characters, genuinely funny [and risque in many cases] cartoons, sketch shows, and kickass game shows to what they have now.
I don't think anyone is valid by automatically assuming whether or not TMNT will be ruined, based on the network they're contractually obligated to. Diehard fans, like myself, are just unwilling to accept the revamp of our once-loved heroes, and heretofore bashing it, and finding excuses to do so, like remarking upon Nickelodeon screwing up in the past. This is the future. It's uncommon, but things DO sometimes change for the better, contrary to popular belief.

TMNT 03 (season 4) was the closest to an M rated show, PG 14 at least it had very mindbending events and deep motivations. After that 4 Kids decided to make it more and more kid friendly when in fact the series was not made for kids. Quite frankly, I really don't trust Nickelodeon's judgment on how to handle this series properly. I'm terrified they're gonna childproof the FUCK out of it. No one will take the series seriously. If it can be done for badman then why cant they have it too?

Well, I`m to old to watch Nickelodeon and I´m not American, so I could not watch it anyway. I just feel quite alarmed, when you mentioned, that the show will go back to the niveau of the 80`s, which would be very sad, since the 2003 series(season 1 -5) made an excellent job in story, character development and action.

I see some people don't like the idea of a movie with human people & CGI turtles & Splinter.
There are 2 good possibilities of there being CGI TMNT & Splinter.
Number 1: Maybe we'll get to see the turtles jump from building to building (as done in the 2003 cartoon & it's follow-ups as well as the 2007 movie). I don't recall seeing that at all in the 90s movies.
Number 2: Maybe we can see Splinter doing some hand-to-hand fight scenes. He didn't really have any in the 90s movies.
Nicktoon network did air Wolverine and the X-men, it was dark and edgy. Let not forget the Nickelodeon was the highest rated kid network which is why he choose them. I also want to correct you on something the new show in being release in 2011 according to the TMNT site.
Based on what I have seen of TMNT merchandise lately, they are trying to go towards the 80's version. They could even make the new cartoon like the 80's version! OH HELL NO. I don't give a thing about nostalgia. I have watched both series and I think that story, characters, and action make an overall better Ninja Turtles than a show which is light hearted half the time. It isn't called NINJA turtles for nothing.

@pooperscoop54321 1 advantage Cartoon Network has over Nickelodeon is that it has Adult Swim which is obviously filled with cartoons for adults (however I still see King of the Hill, Family Guy & American Dad as cartoons the whole family can enjoy).
Nickelodeon only has Nick at Nite which mostly just consists of canceled (unfinished with no official farewell episode) or finished (ones that do contain a farewell episode) sitcoms.
If TMNT was owned by CN, it could've been on Adult Swim.

Does any one know the plot of the show yet? I've heard it was going to be like Turtles forever, that's it really. I want to know what their going at before I can hard core critisize it, I mean Nick isn't that bad of a choice. @allwalledup Mirage has currently put the comics on hiatus, and won't be returning to them for a long time, unfortunately. Hopefully they'll return to the comics and make more in the future and give it a proper conclusion.
I'm not going to lose hope for the turtles yet because while i wished Mirage Studiois still owned the rights for TMNT, Nickelodeon gave us one of the coolest cartoons ever called Avatar the Last Airbender, and we all know how popular and how much it kicked ass, so all I can hope is that Nickelodeon doesn't ruin the franchise and make it at least entertaining enough, if not better if possible.
To be fair, I actually like the TRANSFORMERS films... for me, the pros BARELY outweigh the cons, that and Peter Cullen alone is worth watching racist Autobots. Also, Bay is only a producer, not a director. As for the cartoon, my hope is that they if it is cg, it better not look like the 2007 film or instead of cg they could make it look like Avatar: The Last Airbender. Also, I now sympathize with Laird. I've been doing fanfiction and went through a burnout... maybe someone else should do Mirage.

@pooperscoop54321 1 advantage Cartoon Network has over Nickelodeon is that it has Adult Swim which is obviously filled with cartoons for adults (however I still see King of the Hill, Family Guy & American Dad as cartoons the whole family can enjoy).
Nickelodeon only has Nick at Nite which mostly just consists of canceled (unfinished with no official farewell episode) or finished (ones that do contain a farewell episode) sitcoms.
If TMNT was owned by CN, it could've been on Adult Swim.

@Nicksolo85 yeah, but family guy and american dad arent made by cn and it is very unlikely that they wouldnt have it on cn since it was one of the most popular kids cartoons ever made. and even if it werent on cn, it will still be made by them, and the way things are going with cn, it would suck

I think this was like during the Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh era.

As a huge Ninja Turtle fan...all I can do is pray that Nickelodeon gives the fans what they want...we should post suggestions on their website early on in the process and hope they would respond in kind. I don't know what I'll do without the turtles. lol...I still love the old school one and the 2k3 one.

You know, Bay's only producing the film. Plus last time I heard, the Turtles were going to be suits but with CGI faces ala Where the Wild Things Are. Plus, one of the writers of Iron Man is hired to write the script.

I've been told that Nickelodeon is thinking about airing the 1987 cartoon.
This haven't been confirmed yet ;but if they are going to, that would be sweet.

Does any one know the plot of the show yet? I've heard it was going to be like Turtles forever, that's it really. I want to know what their going at before I can hard core critisize it, I mean Nick isn't that bad of a choice. Nick hasn't done that well lately in cartoon standards, but Avatar was a bitchen show and if they can make it I'm going to trust them on this show. For now that is. And micheal bay is better then M. Night Shamalon. I saw Avatar and cried, Im leaving it at that.

@allwalledup Mirage has currently put the comics on hiatus, and won't be returning to them for a long time, unfortunately. Hopefully they'll return to the comics and make more in the future and give it a proper conclusion.

I'm not going to lose hope for the turtles yet because while i wished Mirage Studiois still owned the rights for TMNT, Nickelodeon gave us one of the coolest cartoons ever called Avatar the Last Airbender, and we all know how popular and how much it kicked ass, so all I can hope is that Nickelodeon doesn't ruin the franchise and make it at least entertaining enough, if not better if possible.

To be fair, I actually like the TRANSFORMERS films... for me, the pros BARELY outweigh the cons, that and Peter Cullen alone is worth watching racist Autobots. Also, Bay is only a producer, not a director. As for the cartoon, my hope is that they if it is cg, it better not look like the 2007 film or instead of cg they could make it look like Avatar: The Last Airbender. Also, I now sympathize with Laird. I've been doing fanfiction and went through a burnout... maybe someone else should do Mirage.

@Lundarigirl sorry but i'd have to disagree, fast forward was the worst turtles tv show since the next mutation, and i actually did think back to the sewer wasnt half bad. and i am starting to believe that nickelodeon is gonna screw up the turtles, especially hearing about the new movie being like the scooby doo movies, half cgi, half live action, and hearing the show will be cgi, that kinda scares me, seeing that iron man armored adventures sucks ass, but it would be nice to see it like xmen

If there is going to be a new TMNT cartoon the people of Avatar: The Last Airbender better be in charge of it or at least Butch Hartman. Personally I think Laird made a good choice, Cartoon Network would have ruined it just like everything else. I don't even want to think what Disney would have done with it.

TMNT attractions at Universal Studios would be cool (especially since good rides like King Kong and Back to the Future were taken down).
There needs to be a cartoon here about the buyout.
The cast of characters: Leo, Mikey, Don, Raph, Foot Soldiers, Shredder, a Nickelodeon Executive, SpongeBob, Patrick, Fanboy, ChumChum and maybe the kids from that ICarly show.
