I would hasten to guess this band is not nearly as christian themed as you hope they are.

So you assume im Christian? Actually im closer to atheist then Christian, and this band, this cd and a lot of the themes lanegan have written about have been very deeply connected to spiritualism, you need to listen to the lyrics my friend :) And dont assume, it makes you look ignorant.

I agree. There are many Christian themes (almost every song contains some sort of Biblical reference) but Greg Dulli, though raised a Catholic, denounced the religion in 1978 and is now an agnostic. Don't know about Lanegan, but he doesn't strike me as the Bible-thumping type either. Also, the Bible and its stories have become so much a part of Western culture that even atheists reference it as a part of culture instead of faith.

Lanegans solo work and album with soulsavers is full of religious references. so no, not a bible thumper but religion has clearly been a huge influence on his work.
