It needs to be that way, only wish it was more affordable...I dont like waves like maceronis due to the crowds, if it was that free to surf at nihiwatu it wouldnt be as good. Like g-land scar reef and any other good wave thats well known and open to anyone to surf.
video appears to be 1989...in late 70's, Jim Banks was maybe the most radical surfer of his generation (Cheyne, Tom Carroll, etc) was taking off steeper drop than anyone...at Pipe, Voodoo, Shark Island, backhand & forehand...single & twins...one of the best ever...underated..
