i am double majoring in political science and psychology. I was hoping to attend FSU to attain a dual degree in Master in Social Work and a J.D law. my question is would I be able to be accepted into the MSW program with a double major in PS and PSY? or do I need to study social science or sociology?

And don't forget to respond to the fact CPS uses hearsay to take away children. A judge who is a lot wiser than you said having one's children taken is the equivalent of the death penalty, and CPS can do that with the hearsay evidence of a filthy, lying whoring social worker.
Social workers do use evidence from word of mouth. A social worker's job is to talk to different members of the family to try and get a full idea of the problem areas where there would otherwise be no evidence. But then again, for example in a murder case a witness could be the evidence needed to convict the murderer. You, just to be awkward, would probably call that hearsay evidence just so your argument is seen as relatively strong...

The problem is this: most social workers do in fact come from f-ed up backgrounds, and they see abuse everywhere. If social workers undertook their job properly, Baby P would be alive and loved today. Most social workers have degrees in sociology and history with no formal law training in child welfare. I also think the people fighting about history of social work need to do some more research.

Social workers do use evidence from word of mouth. A social worker's job is to talk to different members of the family to try and get a full idea of the problem areas where there would otherwise be no evidence. But then again, for example in a murder case a witness could be the evidence needed to convict the murderer. You, just to be awkward, would probably call that hearsay evidence just so your argument is seen as relatively strong...
Define what you mean as hearsay evidence. Give an example.

The problem is this: most social workers do in fact come from f-ed up backgrounds, and they see abuse everywhere. So, when a child acts a bit weird, or has a bruise, they will - too often - assume the worst. Meanwhile, children, families, society, the justice system, and civilization are being destroyed by the corrupt nature of CPS. If you want to rescue children, fight CPS.

They may break families, coerce women into giving up babies for adoption etc. but they are responsible for the welfare of the most vulnerable children in society, the ones no one cares about, and there are some really fantastic social workers out there.i would love to do it, to help children who need it. the system needs a dramatic change, however.

There may be bad people in the system or they might get the wrong families. Yes that's tragic but that shouldn't cause you to hate the system as a whole. Given the fact that CPS itself is so large, it follows (even without knowing the employment stats) that many who do "social work" are CPS social workers. CPS may be the bottom of the barrel, but it takes up a large part of the barrel. The problem is not many MSW's like myself want to work for actual social service agencies. I chose a correctional job, and I make a lot more money. Most social workers have degrees in sociology and history with no formal law training in child welfare. I also think the people fighting about history of social work need to do some more research.
