I haven't seen every video from the '60's but I've seen some good ones so far. What I like about this video is that Mark, Paul, Drake, Fang and Smitty all look like they are having fun. That's probably why The Raiders were popular in the '60's. They were a tight band.
So I'm glad that YouTube is here, to allow me to check out some great history, such as The Raiders!!!
Now this kind of music NEVER gets old. Okay, so I was probably 3 years ago when this was actually recorded, but thanks to YouTube I can watch this piece of history anytime. Plus there are a lot of great videos from the '60's worth checking out too! I know, I've already done it.
Haha, what fun! This video reminds me of when I turn my music up and dance around. :) The dances that the girls on the floor are doing is like what I do! haha. Its fun.
@bze2nlz4 (cont) The Raiders in 1965 were a class act. Their early american costumes were real cool. Sadly, today's music just has no meaning or feeling to it. And I absolutely Hate Rap!!! Rap is not music!! Anyway, I'll get off my soap box and conclude by saying, Thank you Chris for sharing that wonderful comment and for all your wonderful comments. Have a wonderful day! :)
@alonenjersey Paul Revere & The Raiders represent good times. Too bad I was just a toddler when they were making this good music. I really dig the Early American Costumes. I thought that a cool gimmick. I like the way Mark sings, the way Drake plays guitar, Fang with his signature bass, Smitty on drums, and Paul on organ. I'll tell ya what, Fang and Drake were pretty tight. They were best friends that grew up together.
@alonenjersey Paul Revere & The Raiders were a lot better than the music kids listen to today (if you can call it "music"). I mean, I absolutely hate rap, hip-hop, and whatever popular music kids listen to these days. Back in the '60's, you had The Raiders, The Monkees, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, DC5, The Loving Spoonful, Jefferson Airplane, and so much more. Back then, music meant something, and it was fun to listen to (still is fun).
@bze2nlz4 Yes, it is sad about TV today. :( When I was growing up I was very much into game shows (ex: Jeopardy! With host Art Fleming; Hollywood Squares, with Peter Marshall, the list goes on.) Even cartoons were better in the '60's and '70's that today. Had I been born in, say, 1945, than I would be a young man in '65 instead of being a toddler, and I could have watched Paul Revere & The Raiders on "Action" and other variety shows at that time.
"I, am gonna tell you, about 'Ooh Poo Pah Doo'" I like the way Mark says that in the intro. Very good color and sound. It's great to see Drake and Fang, too. Today's TV has way too many reality shows, music I don't care for, and even comedy isn't what it used to be. Today young people refer to each other as "Dog". Sorry, I'll get off my soap box. I'll just conclude by saying I wish it was 1965 again when times were simpler.
@1962drob I just love Mark's gravely voice on this, wow :) I couldn't get enough of these variety shows, there was always someone/something to look forward to watching. You are so right about tv today. All these 'reality' and law enforcement shows are a sorry excuse for lack of creativity, imo. Very sad...
@bze2nlz4 Another great video you posted. I prefer the Drake lineup, although Harpo was pretty good, too. Everyone looked like they had a real good time.
I like the fact that "Arizona" by Mark Lindsay is listed as the "Featured" video. That is so cool, especially since today is Mark's Birthday!

@MrMegaFredzeppelin This is one of my favorites by Paul Revere & The Raiders. Aren't those "Early American Costumes" cool?
Paul Revere & The Raiders are my favorite pop group of the 60's. They had a lot of great songs they recorded in the 60's and 70's.
Glad you like my bulletin BRO!!!
