@ervb44 I am so ashamed that I excersized my 2nd amendment rights buy buying a gun and excersized my American freedom of choice to be an individual and not a carbon copy of every other 10/22 out there. You are right. We should all have the exact same gun. On a serious note. I love the old style 10/22's. I grew up shooting them with my father. I can always put the old stock back on if I get tired of this setup. I am not a gun snob so I dont put down fellow gun guys setups. I enjoy freedom!
Do you have the steps or a "step-by-step" guide on this? I've got the kit, but I'm not sure if I want my original barrel altered. I may find another Ruger at a local pawn shop or something.... Any help is appreciated!!
@TheyxSeexMexTrollin Its awesome. I have never heard of "bows" with the Archangel kit and I have alot of experience with Archangel products. Buy it you'll love it. Its light, balanced, flickable and it has lots of modularity for all your accessories. Oh and its cheaper now than when I first bought mine a few years ago. Check out my other videos on Archangel products.
@Titan9mm Spend some time on rimfirecentral-dot-com and you will learn real quick that spending money on 10/22's is not uncommon at all. They are a hobby and many guys have no problem turning their 10/22's into SBR's and adding suppressors which easily cost more than a stock 10/22. I never knock what people do to their guns because its what makes America unique and what helps American business. I see no flaw in that. Btw, the kit only cost $70 and the red dot was only $50.
What did you do to make the flash hider that way, the stock flash hider has the ugly ass rail on it and lug for the bayonet. Can the rail be removed? I have been wanting to get an AA kit for my 10/22 because I love my AR and like you, its cheaper to plink with a .22 vs a .556 and dont have to worry about tearing my AR up. lol. Any thoughts?
@Palazzolo88 I had my barrel cut down to 16", recrowned and threaded so I could mount any flash hider I wanted. Its called a reverse slip over flash hider. About $20 at a gun show. The plastic flash hider that comes with the kit can be cut down and sanded to look like a real A2 flash hider if you dont like the rail on it?
@Thebizzle21 I liked it alot. It did its job of helping me quickly sight in at close distances.I wouldnt use it on a centerfire rifle though. Just for 22lr is fine.
@MrDarkwolf1995 Who said anyone was training on this gun? And who said anyone was fighting with this gun? Does every gun have to be for fighting. I have my duty weapons for work. But I think as an American I have the right to pursue happiness. Where in the 2nd amd right to bear arms does it say every gun should be tactical? If I were to ever train with a 22 it would be with a S&W M&P1522 since it has a last shot bolt hold open. I would not use a Ruger 10/22 in an Archangel kit.
@mixflip my bad, its just when i see a 10/22 dressed up like an AR sitting underneath an AR i get the impression your using it to replace your AR in training, glad to read thats not the case, far to many people do that and it only hurts them
if you use that 22 more than that AR you got yourself a problem lol
@MrDarkwolf1995 Using 22's for training is not an alien concept. Its been done by the military for years. When I 1st went to boot camp the 1911's we shot were real 1911's with a 22 conversion kit. Its a cost effective way for organizations to save money. Its been done by the gov. even way back in the 1930's. Ammo aint cheap. Trigger time and proficiency with the fire controls/manual of arms regardless of caliber is important. Basic marksmanship on a 22 is actually a very good start for enyone
@mixflip you make a good point but its just not the same, i mean someone might be really thrown off if he shoots a 22 all the time and decides to pick up a real weapon and it punches him in the shoulder because he hasnt been working on recoil managment
you used 1911s in the military? you must be older than dirt lol
@MrDarkwolf1995 LOL. I have been around the block (and the world) a few times. The 1911 was still used up until it was replaced by the M9 in the 1980's. I am old compared to you most likely but I am still in my 30's so I guess its all relative? Just curious but how much firearms experience do you actually have? How many firearms classes have you taken? Shooting well has nothing to do with "caliber size". I'd rather go up against a noob with a desert eagle 50AE than a marksman with a 22 any day.
@mixflip i have been shooting almost everyday for a little over 4 years, my dad is former military and uses firearms in his current profession, i learned everything i know from him and i havent attended any formal training classes, not even a hunters safety course. i run'n gun and paintball in our 15 acre backyard, we got a maze made of tarp that is used mostly for paintball but its great for running live fire drills, just dont do it that often because it leaves alot of holes
@MrDarkwolf1995 Sounds like a good start kid. Keep up the shooting skills. Just dont become a gun snob. We see alot of know it alls with very little experience or training all the time on the gun forums. Just remember that many survival guns are 22lr for a reason? Try shooting a rabbit with 7.62x39mm? Not much left to eat and its loud signature could give your position away or scare away potential small game nearby? Check out the AR7 22lr survival rifle issued to pilots since 1959.
@MrDarkwolf1995 You are correct about "other people". Someone out there will probably teach their little boy how to shoot using a 10/22 and maybe even a 10/22 with a kit because the kit allows for mounting optics and its cool looking and fun for the kid? My Army dad taught me when I was 8 on a 10/22. Is that wrong? Not at all. Do I care what people do? No. I am just happy to see more people excersizing their 2nd amd gun rights. I am no gun snob. We have enough haters with the liberals.
@mixflip my daddy started me off on a WASR-10 when i was 12 so maybe thats why i feel so strongly about it, i never had the pleasure of being eased into shooting with a 22 and i think it has made me a better shooter because of it, i learned early on how to deal with recoil, and that is a huge part of putting quick, effective rounds down range
@MrDarkwolf1995 Like I always say kid, you do what works for you...but dont expect it to work for everyone else. My boys will learn the basics at age 8. (which is the age of reason recognized by law coincidentally) and they will be shooting my 10/22. The Archangel 556 kit is nice for small people because it has an adjustable buttstock and its ridiculously light. Perfect for an 8 year old. Easing in to things is natural not weird, just like surfing small waves before you surf the North Shore.
@mixflip yeah the shooter matters far more than the weapon ( i hate DE btw) and your probably right about starting small children off on the 22. it would be size relitive, i didnt start shooting when i was that young and i dont have a kid so i wouldnt really know. i love my SGL 21 and Glock 21 and i really dont care for my brothers AR and Sig, what works for me dont work for him
@MrDarkwolf1995 Youre 16. You have lots of time to learn and enjoy guns. By the time you get to my age you will probably have phazed plasma rifles with 40 watt range lol. (FYI: quote from 80's Terminator)
@MrDarkwolf1995 You must be retarded, Its for show and comfort. Its a target rifle. Not a rifle fit for a war. You must have never handled a gun. Because if you did, you'd be proud of owning a gun looking this kickass.
@thesergreatvids alot of people use these kind of 22.s to supplement training because its cheap to shoot and bust out their AR or AK once they forget what recoil feels like
@jayjaythemanjay43 You could mount an A-frame front sight on the hand guard and you could mount a carry handle... but the sight radius will be kinda short. I personally dont like those clamp on carry handles. They are out dated technology and they ad bulky weight. I prefer BUIS and a decent optic but thats just me.
@122309d64346 You are correct. The stock iron sights are completely cover up by this kit so they are useless. But keep in mind most people who buy this kit buy it specifically so they can have an adjustable buttstock and a picatinny rail to mount an after market optic like a scope or a red dot. It does not come with an optic. Some kits do come with flip up sights (aka BUIS/back up iron sights) but I personally like to choose my own.
i got my kit about a month ago and it fit perfectly right out of the box...anyways nice video i like that foregrip ive been looking for one... where did you get yours and for how much?
@jdeezy541 Yeah the new kits are good to go right out of the box. My fore grip is a Tango Down stubby foregrip. Got it off ebay for about $25 I think? (a few years ago)
@michigan21011 I have never heard of a camo barrel? Unless you are talking about a custom camo job? If so the barrel and action all go inside the Archangel kit. So yes is probably the answer?
great review, i've been looking at this kit but u helped me make up my mind. this will be the first tactical rifle mod for me. i wanted to mod my mini 14 first, but i figured it would be cheaper to learn and make mistakes on the 10 22 first before i upgrade the mini 14. i was looking at the bullpup for this gun, but i like the kit u have and the shorter foregrip is a great tip cuz i was planning on ordering a long one. i think i'll save the bullpup for the mini 14.
@BRANDORC Dont go bullpup, they are just a pain in the ass and they make the gun feel like plasticrap not to mention you loose accuracy. just letting you know so you don't buy it and get upset.
@oodamnagain You can order in online and put it together yourself very easily for about $125 now. The newer kits dont need any sanding or heating to fit.
Hi i just got the kit and when i was putting forgrip part it got blocked by the original rugers rear sight. How do I take it off or get the forgrip were its suppose to be?Thanks.
@PancakePlease They still make them. I guess they are just selling faster than they can make them? Check out my video on the new Marauder kit before you buy. Its pretty freaking awesome!!!! Its made by the same guys.
@TexasDistortion If all goes well, I should be getting one of the very first Marauder kits direct from Archangel to review for free. Sometime mid March? Stay tuned.
@mixflip excellent, keep the vids coming man, i was relieved to find someone with detailed Stag M8 videos. i was new to a piston system when i purchased mine, you helped me with that.
@TexasDistortion Glad to be of help. I absolutely love my Stag M8. I met the CEO of Stag last month and got to talk to him a bit about the M8. I am really glad I chose it over the others I was considering. The lifetime warranty was icing on the cake for the price.
@wheelman1985 To be fair, I had a first run model. The later kits did not need adjustments from what I here? And if they do they were minor enough to just be warmed up in an oven then added to the gun. No sanding needed. I cant wait for the Marauder/G36 kit thats coming out next month. Check out my video on it if you are interested?
@XvChriisvX Try to edit your "tags". There is a box you can ad all kinds of key words that helps youtube direct your video to specific viewers. Ad in words like Ruger 10/22, Archangel, AR15 etc...anything that you can relate your gun to? That should help a little. My video has been up for a few years I think so that is probably why it has so many views? Plus I have over 100 videos and a decent amount of subscribers so all that plays a factor. Build up your content and the views will come.
@XvChriisvX Also its helps to make your video stand out and somehow make people want to watch it. Talk about your experience with the gun. What you like and dont like and basically make a video that has more than just a few seconds of shooting. Think of it as contributing and helping others and people will find you over time since alot of people use youtube to learn stuff. It just takes time after that.
@mixflip ok, ill try to attempt a review and make more shooting videos after i get my own camera, i won't be as good as you tho xD, but thanks for the advice
@snarfsnarf135 You have to own a Ruger 10/22 rifle to ad to the Archangel kit. The kit is not a gun its just a plastic shell that fits over a gun. So the answer to your question is no. It does not come with a barrel.
@linkinparkfan5054 It shoots the standard 22lr round that you can buy at WalMart. 10/22 is just a name that Bill Ruger have his gun when he invented it.
@linkinparkfan5054 The 10/22 name actually came from the fact that it was a 10 round 22 long rifle gun. As the stock gun has always come with the little 10 round rotary mag. They are probably one of the funnest guns to own and the sky is the limit as to what type of accessories or mods you can add to it.
@likawildcougar Its rediculously light weight compared to an AR15. The thing is all plastic so you can imagine how light it is. But then again I am a healthy 200lb man so I rarely complain about weight on guns unless I have to carry one for 8 hours straight with no sling lol.
@chevygearhead454 I agree. I guess because its plastic that has to fit over metal there is just no way to get it perfect unless they made it to loose. I can tell you this, once you sand enough plastic off, it really fits tight. That equates to better accuracy vs something that is loose and would shift your point of aim vs point of impact. many people say theirs fit with no adjustments so at least not everyone has to custom fit their parts like I did. I just wish it only cost $50 instead of $125
@Gam3Junkie Try Brownells or MidwayUSA or Cheaperthandirt? I got mine at a gun show. I hate ordering online. I am old school and like to go to a store and touch it before I buy it.
Nice Mod. Dont you just love all the people on the "Tube" that give you their opinions on what is right or wrong or what looks cool or not. As you have said it's a hobby and you can customize your project rifle any way you want. I have even seen a Hello Kitty AR online. Pink and white all over. Nice info vid.. Thanks Keep em rollin.
@Forbidenangel0 I dont condone training with this either. The S&W M&P1522 and AR15 conversions are the very best AR trainers since their fire controls are identical to what you will be fighting with on a real AR. Its all about the muscle memory. As for the Archangel kit, its fun and cool for a kid but its not an AR trainer. Hopefully I didnt say it was? I sold this gun over a year ago.
so this is for people with too much money? all about looks and ergos but no real advancement in function. just buy a bolt catch, extended mag release and a 25rnd magazine and your in the same situation just doesnt "Look" as cool... correct me if im wrong?
@bZberetta Oh my bad this isnt America where we have the freedom to enjoy our hobby the way we choose to? I have to conform to your idea of what a 10/22 should look like? We have to have a cookie cutting plain jane copy of a gun? Why dont you do your gun your way and I'll do mine my way. Its not all flash over function. The quad rail allows for a free float barrel and it has more choices for me to mount things and its lighter and better balanced than a wood stock\ and resists chemical solvents.
@mixflip mine came with a factory black synthetic ruger stock, and im not sure how a free floated barrel is going to assist you with a .22lr (good luck with that) and i cant figure out what on earth id want to attach to the front of my 10-22 but i guess if i really wanted to put a flashlight on it i could always buy a rail on ebay for 9 bucks and screw it to my stock. I didnt say you couldnt enjoy your hobby and if you admitting thats all this is then perfect :)
@bZberetta You dont need to "get it". Its my gun and you really shouldnt care what I do with it. I kill tin cans with it and if I want to spice up my tin can executions who are you to judge how I do it? If you dont like it then do buy one or even watch a video about one. Do you expect me to change now that you have enlightened me on your way of thinking? We have enough issues with the anti gun haters. Why do we need to have in fighting between fellow gun owners? Enjoy your guns the way you want.
@mixflip Well im a reasonable man and i do give to some degree my apologies for my "approach" with how i feel about the money spent dressing this firearm. it is in essence none of my business. you went out of your way to make a video to educate people on what they can do with theirs and that is more than i can say for my channel. and i agree with the anti gun community comment and will concede. We can agree to disagree on its function improvements; but again it is yours to do what you wish man.
I have my stock 10/22 and really don't like the stock that comes from the factory how ever high quality it is. Its just not as good as it could be and for a fairly reasonable price the stock can be replaced with a number of different more advanced stock designs i.e. the knoxx axiom rf. The 10/22 is one of the most customizable guns on the market so why hate on people who want to have fun with it and spice things up their own way how ever serious they might be?
@mixflip the problem im having is that i have the die and the barrel has been tooken down to.500 but i no longer own my damn lath so i got fucked since i know how to do this
@daflyinhawaiian2 A bull barrel will fit no problem. The issue I had when I mounted my steel bull barrel is that it was extremely front heavy. The TS carbon fiber barrel should be great though. Also I didnt like the look of my 20" bull barrel because the Archangels handguards are so small, it made the barrel look way too long. Mine was kinda goofy looking with a 20" barrel. I dont do precision shooting with this gun so close quarters accuracy was all I needed and the stock barrel works for that.
@TheAKOmnicide Well the SR22 is a complete rifle while the Archangel is just a kit. Also the SR22 is made out of metal and the Archangel is plastic. Both are a pain to field strip for leaning due to the clam shell design. If I were to start from scratch I think I'd go with the SR22. I didn t have that option when I bought the Archangel. If you already have a 10/22 then just by the Nordic kit which is a metal kit. The biggest strength of the Archangel is that it is extremely light weight.
@MercOfTheSouth1 The kit fits extremely tight. So tight that it can be a pain to field strip for cleaning. But hey its tight and tight is good for accuracy. The stock iron sights are useless once the kit is on. You'll have to buy BUIS/flip ups to shoot with open sights or just buy a red dot for both eyes open close range shooting.
@vigilante1202 The delux kit comes with flip up sights and the regular kit does not. Most people are picky about their sights so I'd suggest just buying the regular kit and go shopping for your own style of sights that you like best.
Hey dude I want to buy the ruger 10 22 with digital camo then buy this and put it together but would I see the digital camo once I'm done because it would look really bad
@naruto977345123 I dont think the digital camo would even be seen under this kit. It would proably be better to buy a regular 10/22 and this kit...then have it camo'd up after its all put together.
how easy is it to install? i am buying one of these kits from cebelas along with a forgrip AND the 30 rd. clip/w speed loader. yes i do have a 10/22 to convert. plz reply.
@lastkillis100 Very easy. Some kits need a little sand paper to get th etight fitting parts on but overall its not hard. My top piece need alot of sanding (probably should have used a dremel) to get it on but I hear other folks say theirs popped right on with no sanding at all. Good luck! and enjoy!!!
i kinda want to get this kit, but i also like the idea of switching out this stock with the original like i could on maybe a tapco stock. is this kit easy to switch out or wat?
Where can I get the side rails like you have? Is that 4 inches? And how is that Aimpoint clone working for ya? Do you think cantilever mounts would look better? Pls reply. Thanks bro.
@kupski1 The side rails are 4" universal rails from ebay. I made a video that shows how I mounted them. Just look for it on my youtube channel. The aimpoint clone works fine since its only a 22. I have a cantilever mount but you only need a cantilever mount if you are running a magnifier behind the optic or if you just like the looks of it. Other than that you dont need a cantilever.
it take alot of work for the archangel stock to fit properly the only problem is the stock has plastic threads which are ez to strip and you only have a couple trys before the stock is damaged. i still think it looks cool and im satisfied to a point. but would not do this agian . it would have been cheaper to have purchase a sr22 or a sig 522.plus the stock is not as durable as it looks feels weak to me.
i am having a bitch of a time trying to get the top rail on mine, its really pissing me off. was yours easy to get on? or do i have to sand the shit out of it?
I did have to sand the inside quit a bit to make room for the receiver to fit inside of it. I used a power hand sander though so it went a little faster.
@Quinton101 i have a archangel for the 597 remington i didnt sand mine but its not a flush fit but good enough maybe later i will sand it down. i am not happy with this stock at all. i tested the strenght of the hand guard by trying to flex it and i heard it start to crack.the butt stck needs to be forced in and out and i cannot insert the hi cap mag. becuase the bolt opening is not counter sunk like the original stock.
where did you get the fake suppressor on the 22cal

@HDMann292 Its actually an extended, reverse, slip over flash hider that I found at a gun show in Las Vegas for about $20.

We see alot of know it alls with very little experience or training all the time on the gun forums. Just remember that many survival guns are 22lr for a reason? Try shooting a rabbit with 7.62x39mm? Not much left to eat and its loud signature could give your position away or scare away potential small game nearby? Check out the AR7 22lr survival rifle issued to pilots since 1959.
mixflip 7 months ago
@MrDarkwolf1995 You are correct about "other people". Someone out there will probably teach their little boy how to shoot using a 10/22 and maybe even a 10/22 with a kit because the kit allows for mounting optics and its cool looking and fun for the kid? My Army dad taught me when I was 8 on a 10/22. Is that wrong? Not at all. Do I care what people do? No. I am just happy to see more people excersizing their 2nd amd gun rights. I am no gun snob. We have enough haters with the liberals.
mixflip 7 months ago
@mixflip my daddy started me off on a WASR-10 when i was 12 so maybe thats why i feel so strongly about it, i never had the pleasure of being eased into shooting with a 22 and i think it has made me a better shooter because of it, i learned early on how to deal with recoil, and that is a huge part of putting quick, effective rounds down range
MrDarkwolf1995 7 months ago
@MrDarkwolf1995 Like I always say kid, you do what works for you...but dont expect it to work for everyone else. My boys will learn the basics at age 8. (which is the age of reason recognized by law coincidentally) and they will be shooting my 10/22. The Archangel 556 kit is nice for small people because it has an adjustable buttstock and its ridiculously light. Perfect for an 8 year old. Easing in to things is natural not weird, just like surfing small waves before you surf the North Shore.
mixflip 7 months ago
@mixflip yeah the shooter matters far more than the weapon ( i hate DE btw) and your probably right about starting small children off on the 22. it would be size relitive, i didnt start shooting when i was that young and i dont have a kid so i wouldnt really know. i love my SGL 21 and Glock 21 and i really dont care for my brothers AR and Sig, what works for me dont work for him
MrDarkwolf1995 7 months ago
@MrDarkwolf1995 Youre 16. You have lots of time to learn and enjoy guns. By the time you get to my age you will probably have phazed plasma rifles with 40 watt range lol. (FYI: quote from 80's Terminator)
mixflip 7 months ago
@mixflip lol that would be cool but i kinda had my heart set on the M41-A pulse rifle from Alien =)
MrDarkwolf1995 7 months ago
@MrDarkwolf1995 You must be retarded, Its for show and comfort. Its a target rifle. Not a rifle fit for a war. You must have never handled a gun. Because if you did, you'd be proud of owning a gun looking this kickass.
thesergreatvids 7 months ago
@thesergreatvids alot of people use these kind of 22.s to supplement training because its cheap to shoot and bust out their AR or AK once they forget what recoil feels like
MrDarkwolf1995 7 months ago
Thanks for your video , Ive been wondering can you mount and A-frame style sight on the front rail and may-be a carry handle on the optics rail ?
jayjaythemanjay43 8 months ago
@jayjaythemanjay43 You could mount an A-frame front sight on the hand guard and you could mount a carry handle... but the sight radius will be kinda short. I personally dont like those clamp on carry handles. They are out dated technology and they ad bulky weight. I prefer BUIS and a decent optic but thats just me.
mixflip 8 months ago
nice stock for your 22., but i prefer to keep my regular camo stock on mine nice video though
TheMotodude13 9 months ago
@TheMotodude13 Thats the beauty of America and our freedom of choice. If we all had the exact same looking setup life would be boring.
mixflip 8 months ago
@122309d64346 You are correct. The stock iron sights are completely cover up by this kit so they are useless. But keep in mind most people who buy this kit buy it specifically so they can have an adjustable buttstock and a picatinny rail to mount an after market optic like a scope or a red dot. It does not come with an optic. Some kits do come with flip up sights (aka BUIS/back up iron sights) but I personally like to choose my own.

jdeezy541 9 months ago
@jdeezy541 Yeah the new kits are good to go right out of the box. My fore grip is a Tango Down stubby foregrip. Got it off ebay for about $25 I think? (a few years ago)

@michigan21011 I have never heard of a camo barrel? Unless you are talking about a custom camo job? If so the barrel and action all go inside the Archangel kit. So yes is probably the answer?

@michigan21011 At a gun show. You can also get them at promag dot com.
mixflip 10 months ago
great review, i've been looking at this kit but u helped me make up my mind. this will be the first tactical rifle mod for me. i wanted to mod my mini 14 first, but i figured it would be cheaper to learn and make mistakes on the 10 22 first before i upgrade the mini 14. i was looking at the bullpup for this gun, but i like the kit u have and the shorter foregrip is a great tip cuz i was planning on ordering a long one. i think i'll save the bullpup for the mini 14.
BRANDORC 11 months ago
@BRANDORC Dont go bullpup, they are just a pain in the ass and they make the gun feel like plasticrap not to mention you loose accuracy. just letting you know so you don't buy it and get upset.
scfitch 10 months ago
where can I find someone to put one of these together? I'm in Indiana

@oodamnagain You can order in online and put it together yourself very easily for about $125 now. The newer kits dont need any sanding or heating to fit.

wheelman1985 1 year ago
@wheelman1985 To be fair, I had a first run model. The later kits did not need adjustments from what I here? And if they do they were minor enough to just be warmed up in an oven then added to the gun. No sanding needed. I cant wait for the Marauder/G36 kit thats coming out next month. Check out my video on it if you are interested?

can anyone tell me how to get views lol, i have the same rifle and i have a video shooting it but hardly any views =/
XvChriisvX 1 year ago
@XvChriisvX Try to edit your "tags". There is a box you can ad all kinds of key words that helps youtube direct your video to specific viewers. Ad in words like Ruger 10/22, Archangel, AR15 etc...anything that you can relate your gun to? That should help a little. My video has been up for a few years I think so that is probably why it has so many views? Plus I have over 100 videos and a decent amount of subscribers so all that plays a factor. Build up your content and the views will come.
mixflip 1 year ago
@mixflip thanks man, i have all the tags, maybe i should post more vids idunno, but thanks
XvChriisvX 1 year ago
@XvChriisvX Also its helps to make your video stand out and somehow make people want to watch it. Talk about your experience with the gun. What you like and dont like and basically make a video that has more than just a few seconds of shooting. Think of it as contributing and helping others and people will find you over time since alot of people use youtube to learn stuff. It just takes time after that.
mixflip 1 year ago
@mixflip ok, ill try to attempt a review and make more shooting videos after i get my own camera, i won't be as good as you tho xD, but thanks for the advice

does the archangel kit come with a barrel?
snarfsnarf135 1 year ago
@snarfsnarf135 You have to own a Ruger 10/22 rifle to ad to the Archangel kit. The kit is not a gun its just a plastic shell that fits over a gun. So the answer to your question is no. It does not come with a barrel.
mixflip 1 year ago
does the 10 -22 shoot a special 22 shell or is that just its name cuz i was thinking about buying one
linkinparkfan5054 1 year ago
@linkinparkfan5054 It shoots the standard 22lr round that you can buy at WalMart. 10/22 is just a name that Bill Ruger have his gun when he invented it.
mixflip 1 year ago
@mixflip thnx i been wondering for a whiloe n figured it was just the name because ive never heard of a 10 22 shell
linkinparkfan5054 1 year ago
@linkinparkfan5054 The 10/22 name actually came from the fact that it was a 10 round 22 long rifle gun. As the stock gun has always come with the little 10 round rotary mag. They are probably one of the funnest guns to own and the sky is the limit as to what type of accessories or mods you can add to it.
guns185 1 year ago
@linkinparkfan5054
takes regular .22LR that you can buy anywhere...
the 10 stood for 10 rounds, the 22 stood for .22,back when the gun came out in the 60s
hillikt 1 year ago
how does the weight difference compare between the two?
likawildcougar 1 year ago
@likawildcougar Its rediculously light weight compared to an AR15. The thing is all plastic so you can imagine how light it is. But then again I am a healthy 200lb man so I rarely complain about weight on guns unless I have to carry one for 8 hours straight with no sling lol.

aroccop 1 year ago
as expensive as that kit is id think they would take the time for it to actually fit out of the box
chevygearhead454 1 year ago 7
@chevygearhead454 I agree. I guess because its plastic that has to fit over metal there is just no way to get it perfect unless they made it to loose. I can tell you this, once you sand enough plastic off, it really fits tight. That equates to better accuracy vs something that is loose and would shift your point of aim vs point of impact. many people say theirs fit with no adjustments so at least not everyone has to custom fit their parts like I did. I just wish it only cost $50 instead of $125

I thought about doing this to my 10-22 but just decided to get the S&W M&P15-22, better choice
TexasDistortion 1 year ago
@TexasDistortion Yeah, good choice. The M&P15-22 is a better setup for AR15 drills since it has the same exact fire controls.
mixflip 1 year ago
@mixflip yeah, im a hunter at heart so i had trouble parting with the original wood stock. So who needs an excuse to buy another gun!!??!
TexasDistortion 1 year ago
@mixflip i disagree if you going to use a weapon train with that weapon not a mock up
Forbidenangel0 1 year ago
@Forbidenangel0 I dont condone training with this either. The S&W M&P1522 and AR15 conversions are the very best AR trainers since their fire controls are identical to what you will be fighting with on a real AR. Its all about the muscle memory. As for the Archangel kit, its fun and cool for a kid but its not an AR trainer. Hopefully I didnt say it was? I sold this gun over a year ago.
mixflip 1 year ago
so this is for people with too much money? all about looks and ergos but no real advancement in function. just buy a bolt catch, extended mag release and a 25rnd magazine and your in the same situation just doesnt "Look" as cool... correct me if im wrong?
bZberetta 1 year ago
@bZberetta Oh my bad this isnt America where we have the freedom to enjoy our hobby the way we choose to? I have to conform to your idea of what a 10/22 should look like? We have to have a cookie cutting plain jane copy of a gun? Why dont you do your gun your way and I'll do mine my way. Its not all flash over function. The quad rail allows for a free float barrel and it has more choices for me to mount things and its lighter and better balanced than a wood stock\ and resists chemical solvents.
mixflip 1 year ago 2
@mixflip mine came with a factory black synthetic ruger stock, and im not sure how a free floated barrel is going to assist you with a .22lr (good luck with that) and i cant figure out what on earth id want to attach to the front of my 10-22 but i guess if i really wanted to put a flashlight on it i could always buy a rail on ebay for 9 bucks and screw it to my stock. I didnt say you couldnt enjoy your hobby and if you admitting thats all this is then perfect :)
bZberetta 1 year ago
@bZberetta You dont need to "get it". Its my gun and you really shouldnt care what I do with it. I kill tin cans with it and if I want to spice up my tin can executions who are you to judge how I do it? If you dont like it then do buy one or even watch a video about one. Do you expect me to change now that you have enlightened me on your way of thinking? We have enough issues with the anti gun haters. Why do we need to have in fighting between fellow gun owners? Enjoy your guns the way you want.
mixflip 1 year ago
@mixflip Well im a reasonable man and i do give to some degree my apologies for my "approach" with how i feel about the money spent dressing this firearm. it is in essence none of my business. you went out of your way to make a video to educate people on what they can do with theirs and that is more than i can say for my channel. and i agree with the anti gun community comment and will concede. We can agree to disagree on its function improvements; but again it is yours to do what you wish man.
bZberetta 1 year ago
I have my stock 10/22 and really don't like the stock that comes from the factory how ever high quality it is. Its just not as good as it could be and for a fairly reasonable price the stock can be replaced with a number of different more advanced stock designs i.e. the knoxx axiom rf. The 10/22 is one of the most customizable guns on the market so why hate on people who want to have fun with it and spice things up their own way how ever serious they might be?

Do you know if a BULL Barrel will fit into the front stock?
I was thinking of putting one together using a Tactical Solution Bull Barrel.
It is much lighter than the stock Ruger Barrel.
daflyinhawaiian2 1 year ago
@daflyinhawaiian2 A bull barrel will fit no problem. The issue I had when I mounted my steel bull barrel is that it was extremely front heavy. The TS carbon fiber barrel should be great though. Also I didnt like the look of my 20" bull barrel because the Archangels handguards are so small, it made the barrel look way too long. Mine was kinda goofy looking with a 20" barrel. I dont do precision shooting with this gun so close quarters accuracy was all I needed and the stock barrel works for that.
mixflip 1 year ago
How would this compare to the Ruger Sr-22?
TheAKOmnicide 1 year ago
@TheAKOmnicide Well the SR22 is a complete rifle while the Archangel is just a kit. Also the SR22 is made out of metal and the Archangel is plastic. Both are a pain to field strip for leaning due to the clam shell design. If I were to start from scratch I think I'd go with the SR22. I didn t have that option when I bought the Archangel. If you already have a 10/22 then just by the Nordic kit which is a metal kit. The biggest strength of the Archangel is that it is extremely light weight.
mixflip 1 year ago
@MercOfTheSouth1 The kit fits extremely tight. So tight that it can be a pain to field strip for cleaning. But hey its tight and tight is good for accuracy. The stock iron sights are useless once the kit is on. You'll have to buy BUIS/flip ups to shoot with open sights or just buy a red dot for both eyes open close range shooting.
mixflip 1 year ago
@NorthFireProductions I am not sure. I have since sold the gun so I cant measure it. Sorry.
mixflip 1 year ago
does the ar style stock come with modified sights or do the stock 10/22 sights work with the stock?
vigilante1202 1 year ago
@vigilante1202 The delux kit comes with flip up sights and the regular kit does not. Most people are picky about their sights so I'd suggest just buying the regular kit and go shopping for your own style of sights that you like best.

naruto977345123 1 year ago
@naruto977345123 I dont think the digital camo would even be seen under this kit. It would proably be better to buy a regular 10/22 and this kit...then have it camo'd up after its all put together.

@lastkillis100 Very easy. Some kits need a little sand paper to get th etight fitting parts on but overall its not hard.

@mixflip What is full length of the rifle w/stock close?
AC2eucey 1 year ago
it take alot of work for the archangel stock to fit properly the only problem is the stock has plastic threads which are ez to strip and you only have a couple trys before the stock is damaged. i still think it looks cool and im satisfied to a point. but would not do this agian . it would have been cheaper to have purchase a sr22 or a sig 522.plus the stock is not as durable as it looks feels weak to me.
