Any fair interpretation of phenomena should suggest to us experiments that can possibly falsify the interpretation. Creationist interpretations simply do not have this property.
creationism only has theorys (''we cant couldent come from apes cause than all apes would be turning to human'') but still they have no evidence to suppourt their theory. Evoultion on the other hand has evidence of fosolised half ape half human (homo sapien rhodesiensis).
Your intro is impressive. I started listening to what you say about Creationism and I thought "if you substituted EVOLUTIONARY THEORY for CREATIONISM in the presentation, in nearly every instance, with minor adjustment it would work."
Unfalsiable -- CHECK
Lack of evidence -- CHECK
... I hope you get the idea.
Try it--without your defenses up--and you should see what I mean.
There is evidence for creation. There are people giving evidence for creation. You are ignoring the facts. You are misleading people. There are people who search for evidence and find it for creation an opposed to evolutionism (self creating universe matter) . "Ad Hoc" explanation for creation? False (You LIED) Your assertions are "Ad Hoc", where is your evidence for your assertions?
In science, for anything to be considered a theory there must be evidence. there's no evidence for creation, so it's hardly a hypothesis let alone a theory.
The flat earth belief is grossly over exaggerated. People in the old world believed the world was round; not to say that flat earth wasn't believed in at all. The "sailing off the edge of the world" idea became popular in the 19th century when teaching about Christopher Columbus. The accepted idea was that the world was round, however at one point, torrid climes prevented further exploration, hence the phrase "Here there be dragons."
Though it shouldn't be relied on as an absolute truth, Occam's Razor is the best way to determine what's more likely to be true with the given evidence.
Exactly, but this video gave the impression it was the most important part of science, which is incorrect. It is important, and quite useful, but should just be used as a general principal.
Oh yes flat Earthers still exist. I recommend you look to their forums if you want a laugh (or to be scared out of your mind at the state of human intelligence). Fortunately they only number a few thousand.
"there are seriously people out there that still believe that the world is flat!"
Should be lots of fundys but they let that one slip, instead of just going the same same line with evolution and saying, god makes it appear as a sphere etc.
The earth as seen from the moon is much bigger then the sun - not as shown in the animation starting this video. The sun and the moon being so very nearly the same apparent size as seen from the earth is a weird unexplained coincidence. That is: there's only dots and just two things in the sky, the sun and the moon - so why are the two things the same apparent size?
The moon is receding. It was going to be about the same size (well, actually, it appears a little smaller) at some point, we just happen to be alive during that period.
Also, our orbit of the sun, and the moon's orbit of us are not circular, so the sizes vary a little more.
its also interesting to note that since orbits tend to be elliptical the suna nd moons distance from us vary and they therefore appear either larger or smaller and because of this the sun at times does appear bigger than the moon and at times it appears smaller and on occasion they are the same size
Finaly, someone acknowledges the importance of gravity fairies. Okay, okay i have a solution to these "flat earth heads". Hire a cruse ship, round them all up (forcibly if neds be), and give them a round-the-world trip, then - I dont know - chemically castrate them so they cannot breed any more little "flat-eartheres". the world would be better off it would.
Note: your video intro of the earth eclipsing the sun as seen from the moon is wrong. the earth would appear substantially bigger. It sould look like the sun passing behind a much b1gger earth. At no time would you get the nice ring of lights as we get from a solar eclipe.
No I will get around to discussing some aspects of your video later my comment was just an obaservation. If you want to make the video accurate,1) figure how far out the moons has to for the earth to appear the same size as the sum, 2) using how fast the moon is receeding from the earth (or if you can find the equasion) figure out approximatley what year your video becomes true, 3) put that date on your video and yor accurate.
You know what the saddest thing is about this whole situation, you're making an extremely articulate and well thought out video to explain why creationism can't be true, but creationists will ignore it or try to skirt any point you've made. Those brainwashed ID-iots don't seem to care about arguments that make sense or come from evidence.
Don't be so pessimistic, although you are right most the time, there are people who just can't stop ignoring the evidence. This could be the straw that breaks the camels back. It worked on me. I gave up creationism, then later the whole idea of a god because of things like this. Logic rules!
It's an overwhelming minority of people who can break free of the grasp of religion like yourself. The best course of action is to reform the school system to encourage critical thinking and rational thought.
True, that would be a good idea. Ideally if people could learn to think critically and gain an interest in truly understanding the evidence, the idea of creationism will fall just like the idea of a flat earth. Videos like these got me really thinking and when I looked at the evidence myself (in an effort to disprove evolution) I became very angry at how I had been deceived by my Christian teachers.
I remember when I realized how the ideas of gods were created by man I was really angry at everyone around me who had proported that dogma and attempted to keep me blinded.
Well if you ask one of them they'll probably tell you something about a massive series of post flood volcanoes filling the natural dam with sulphuric acid. The sulphuric acid was CreationWiki's explaination. I'm sure most creationists would be stupid enough to believe water alone could do it.
i think if the flood had enough sulphuric acid in it to carve out the grand canyon naohs wooden ark wouldnt have stoof much chance
remembering we have to add enough sulphuric acid for it to still carve out the grand canyon without it being diluted in the water........ that comes to about 500 parts sulphuric acid and 1 part water:P noah is still f*$ked lol so they basically have to make the claim that god only let sulphuric acid go into some parts of the flood:P it gets worse for creationists
It's no wonder that we see a constant flow of creationist videos on YT, which throw up various imaginary scientific notions to back creationism. These often include statements from scientists who turn out, despite any number of letters after their names, to be wholly unqualified to pronounce on their hypothesis: this usually involves geology or biology. But - hey - it all sounds good enough to anyone unwilling to question the evidence. First rate video btw: 5*
Any fair interpretation of phenomena should suggest to us experiments that can possibly falsify the interpretation. Creationist interpretations simply do not have this property.

Can't belive that the biggest, most powerfull and Nobel Prize producing nation in the world still argues over this.
Every democracies fault, let the fools in....
Creationsim will in the end be proved nothing but the scam for what it is, a way to make money and publicity for some.
Others who honestly belivie in this nonsense will hopefully come to their senses when their minds come back to rational seting.

Occam's razor is only used when more than 1 theories reasonably explain ALL the observable phenomenon.
Occam's razor is not applicable to creationism. It couldn't reasonably explain the formation of fossils as well as many other phenomenon.
In fact, it is basically just replacement of all "This is because..." into "God did it." in any context.
It explains nothing.

That's all true, but the claims in the video are from the real, and serious, Flat Earth Society.

Well thats the beauty of science, if razor is wrong, science will explain why. :>
As a awsome quote I saw once don't know who from but love it, "Science has all the answers, we just don't have all the science."
