  • Lets see why was it called Action Force instead of GI JOE, hmmm let me think.....

.....oh wait is it because People in the UK don't call army soldiers GI's by any chance?

  • Comment removed

  • Did they yell Yo, Force instead of Yo, Joe?

  • in time Gi joe agents had been introduced so soon Baron ironblood killed of his terrorist organistation and became cobra commander and him and /destro formed cobra. Action force was then under the command of Gi Joe the SAS division either went into GI joe or went to work the Mi5 the main man of action force became a secret agent called action man fighting for mi5 agaisnt bristish terroorist Doctor X while gI joe fought cobra. In the middel of the 80s it became GI j

  • Ok here we go in the 50s in america the GI Joe toyrange was first launched in england a similair company has lauched the Uk version Called ACTION FORCE as the 70s came into effect the comics and toy range in the UK were big money makers by the 80s the american company who owned the rights to GI JOE Bought ACTION FORCE for the UK market and knew what they had to do most of Action Force were SAS fighting agaisnt Baron Ironbblood and many times action force needed the helpd for Gi joe agents

  • This maybe shorter than the US version, but i love the cool music.

  • @gacer1977 look at my Action Force video with the entire song

  • Would have been better if it had sound effects,

  • I love this song very very much! :-D I grew up on this song and film and I think it's better than the redubbed version. But it's true that I love that song as well, hehe!

  • Because America doesn't copy every single British television program now?

    Skins - Copied

    The Office - Copied

    Shameless - Coped

    The X factor - Copied

    Big Brother - Copied

And many others. So you American's shut up and think of some unique ideas and stop moaning.

  • @Ste19uk I agree 100% but the 1st Big Brother show was actually made in the Netherlands

  • @Ste19uk also being human, amanda's (based on fawlty towers), life on mars...loads more on wiki

  • international hero's waving the american flag.lmao

  • @WRATHofDESTRUCTION When in Rome... Or the US, in this case...

  • Was there an episode of this where they're defending against massive polar bears among other things?

  • What the fuck is this shit? They couldn't at least dub in "Action Force" for G.I. Joe and leave the original song intact...

This is worse than Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles...

  • @Davethe3rd ok but why you complain? are you british? If not dont complain you have your own version so ...

  • @nords I complain because that's what the internet was invented for...

    That and porn...

  • @Davethe3rd this is much better.....less cheesy singing!

  • @Davethe3rd you say ninja, i say hero - they're still heroes in the half shell

  • kids should be watching this instesad of "learning with elmo".

trust me this is wwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyy more educational.

  • 38 people work for cobra

  • Man, they butchered the opening theme. the original version is much better.

  • Why Uk chace Gi Joe to Action Force ?

  • @xsf908 simple.the uk already had an established line called action force which had nothing to do with gi joe [originally].it was never available in the us so when hasbro bought out palitoy and decided to sell gi joe in the ukit was decided to continue with the action force title and expand the line with gi joe products over time.later it was called "gi joe,the action force" and then later to just gi joe untill the line was all gi joe products and lost all conection with the action force name.

  • great movie only because shipwreck gets his hat shot off lol

anyone else notice suicide bomber flint at 0.29

  • im suprised at everyone arguing over a theme song, lets face it, the american version was as bland as could be that spoon fed you flag waving lyrics, the Brit version wasnt much better, aside from that its the same show, given neither side was likely to see the other sides differences live n let live i say.

  • The singing in the UK is alot better than the dodgy US version. Action Force all the way baby!!!! :D

  • I'm sorry. I never EVER say this...but this is GAY.

  • Gi joe toys were launched in the 60s and because England didnt have GI standard military units the children wouldnt understand the meaning of Gi joe so they presented it to england as Action man and his Action force the American hero because children would love that as WW2 was still remembered as being one with America`s help. Hasbro bought the toy lines out and decided to launch the toy range and cartoon under the same name of product that had sold bucket loads Action force

  • Couldn't they kept the song and just replace GI Joe with Action force like they did at the very end? They said Cobra at the end and that's in the song more often the GI JOE: Real American Hero.To be honest the replacement song sucks balls compared to original one. It's too upbeat for a air carrier coming out of nowhere and hordes of men just attacking tourists without any regard. They are terrorists after all.

  • wow this intro got more action than seven bond movies together

  • I remember they changed the Teenage mutant 'Ninja' turtles in the UK to 'Hero' Turtles. To be frank aged 8 I'm not sure how much of a crap I cared what the title was, action in cartoons is action no matter the title of the bloody show. It also has to do with franchise ownership and licences. I think other people have pointed out the obvious reverse issues like how shit the American version of the Office is etc. Lets just accept the original versions are usually the best, they don't changing. :)

  • WOW this was SO LAME...The USA Version Kicks Action Force's ass

  • mann this intro sucks the original is waaaaaaaaaaaay better

  • This intro really really really sucks compared to the North American version

  • Eh. I understand the reasons behind this; but I don't agree with them: converting "GI Joe: the Movie" into "Action Force: the Movie" should not have been done, as it's essentially a story about Americans.

Conversely, I think that the recent "GI Joe: the Rise of Cobra" live-action movie ought to have been called "Action Force: the Rise of Cobra", since the team in that movie was indeed international rather than American.

  • the hell?

  • my god WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU GI JOE????

  • Wow, if your narrative is indicative of the quality of the UK, then I feel pity for your loss of cultural identity as our culture has already succeeded in bastardizing your speech. God Save the Queen holds even greater significance for your country as more and more of your generation systematically kills off your national civility. Congratulations, you are now an American.

  • The US version is much better.

    /watch?v=ok-DrfFJAgw

  • So was the music made by Culture Club?

  • Action Force.... An international team of Americans....... fighting a group of British Terrorists. No wonder Britain has no national identity anymore. When you grow up watching a movie where your countrymen are the bad guys it is no wonder you people have problems now. You can't even fly your own flag for fear that a Muslim will trash and burn your house to the ground... very sad...

  • @dueydueck Eh, since when were Cobra a bunch of British Terrorists?

  • @nufcdazzla

hes american doh of course were the evil ones lol, dueydick has seen too many movies.

  • @dueydueck

you know nothing of british culture or its people. as for flag flying i will do what i like when it comes to that and its not illegal you know to fly it. we also dont fear the muslims theyre too busy blowing up american buildings to bother with us. fuck me its yank propaganda gone mad. this shit about movies lol only in america would you get raised by the tv and believe all the shit you hear. we have national identity and love our country too and i take exception to that you prick

  • wow this intro sucks compared to the oringal (US version) one

  • I think some Americans on hear are being jerks but I don't think British people understand why we see this as a abomination.

When I was a kid GI Joe was such a patriotic line of toys the fact they were an American force was a big part of it. GI Joe is like Uncle Sam apple pie, and this was at the height of the Cold War. To hear "International heroes" is like nails on a chalk board.

Sorry if Hasbro did buy your Action Man/Force toy line but GI Joe was around first.

  • action force is british,

  • Man that was horrible. The USA versison was way better.

  • I don't think parents in the UK were too quick to buy thier children a toy called G.I. JOE A Real American Hero. I am sure like most countries they wanted thier own heros. So Hasbro adapted it to appeal to them wheres the harm in that? Hello it's called Marketing. Besides the American cartoon version was lame and too PC before PC became the norm. I assume the British version was lame to. The Marvel comic was great because characters actually got killed.

  • Why would Hasbro sell people in Europe a toy called G.I. JOE A real American Hero. Of course they would change the name or adapt a familiar one. Everyone needs a hero and we tend to have many here so they want it to have broad appeal, its called marketing. Besides state side the the American cartoon was waaay too PC before PC became the norm here. The Marvel comic was so much better.

  • I'm amazed how uppity people got about this change.

Personally its not as great but I understand why. GI Joe is mostly a american glorification if you think about it.

  • omg they butchered this intro

  • @FranzBrolo This intro is so much better than the Gi Joe one!

  • @hatethislinking its a lot more simple then that. Its simply that Hasbro bought the right of an already install base action toy called Action Force. And they converted it with all the g.i.joe stuff but since the people of UK already knew the Action Force toy line the simply called it Action Force. It as nothing to do with real politic, only business.

  • @nords Exactly. It had nothing to do with making it non american. British TV in those days had more american shows on it than it does today. Also around 1988 Hasbro changed the lines name to Gi Joe in the UK.

  • @mononokehime316uk read my posts correctly please. Thank You

  • @nords that reminds me of the Macross robotech legal battle.....

  • @nords

Doesn't really matter, this is still fuck awful.

  • @HueyOoeyKablooey yeah it matter because the song is VERY VERY good. But I agree the montage for the movie was not well done. But not awful.

  • @hatethislinking we have a porime minister not a president

  • @hatethislinking we havea prime minister not a president

  • @hatethislinking

the americans are always stealing british ideas for their tv and cinema example red dwarf, x factor, who wants to be a millionaire, first years, junkyard wars, on the rocks, robot wars, the office, men behaving badly, fucking loads more too. so they redubbed it slightly for the british market. that will have been approved by a money hungry fat arsed AMERICAN to gain more wealth. yo gonna get yo prez to put a cap in ma ass for enjoying this as a kid. shut your fat yank arse

  • @hatethislinking

They should have put the UN flag on the statue of liberty

  • @hatethislinking Congratulations! You're a world class idiot!

In the UK most people have no idea what a GI is. We don't have them. They're just called 'soldiers' over here.

The name GI Joe would mean nothing to British kids.

But yeah, sure; jealousy blah blah, bastardize non-British programs blah blah.

    Idiot.

You live in the country where every TV show and movie not made in America has to be remade with American actors or no-one will watch it!

  • @hatethislinking They did the same with the comic books over in the UK.

  • @hatethislinking think about it like this; some little british kid watches the original verision, without the nostalgia or respect you and i have for the series, and he goes "huh? cool" now if you show him this he'll go "ooh, cool!"

besides, the term G.I. Joe, well, you know it's an american WW2 thing, SAS didn't have a G.I. bill or insurance i don't think, at least not by that same name.

  • @hatethislinking Have you seen the so-called "adaption"? They change the title to Action Force ... that's it. Everything else is exactly the same. I also feel I should add that America has made adaptions of loads of British TV-shows and all of them have gone tits up. Have you seen RedDwarfUS? It's Horrible so was your Doctor Who movie.

  • @randomstuffinc.........Red Dwarf US??? Really it never stood a chance against the original though did it lol

  • @munk6969 Nothing can stand up against those four smegheads XD

  • @hatethislinking Hang on a sec mate b4 you start shouting your mouth off we all kicked off when we found out that action force was the name giving to the programe because we had been getting the GI JOE comics for 2 years previous before this movie came out towards the end the cartoons and toy range changed there name back to gi joe and the cartoon series we had on saturday mornings became GI Joe after this movie was released in the cinemas over here.

  • @VITALBASSTV1 After some time has passed and now that I think of my comments, they were made rashly from initial shock and hatred and I apologize if I have offended anyone.

  • @hatethislinking sounds to me like you got issues with the UK whats your beef with the queen

  • @hatethislinking Comercial not political.... Britain is as beholden to the whims of business same as the US. Thumbs down for your comment.

  • @hatethislinking Let me correct you on your very ignorant statement! When G.I. Joe (the original toyline) came to Europe, it was changed to Action Man because G.I.'s are exclusive to the American army only! Years later, Hasbro brought the real American Hero line and to keep up with the Action naming tradition 9and to continue the lineage of another toy line by Palitoy), Hasbro called this series; Action Force. Nothing really politica about it!

  • They Had no Choice, the original intro is cooler. But way to american for their taste

  • Oh god...This is so awful compared to the original GI Joe The Movie intro.

  • This is as bland as British food.

The US version is sooooo much better.

  • Okay, I understand Brits are nostalgic for this, but they really could have done a much better job on the intro for a movie. There's no real difference between this music and the series opening. Couldn't they have just asked Hasbro for the "GIJoe: The Movie" instrumental track and rerecorded the vocals with their own lyrics?

  • I think it would have been better if Duke grabbed a united nations flag instead at the very end

  • Wow they took something cheesy and made it even cheesier... way to go Brits.

  • This is how you do it! No cheesy Gi Jo crap; classy, elegant, uplifting. We Brits took Gi Jo and improved it into Action Force. I love it.

  • Action Force: Go Beyond Borders

  • FULL FORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • does anyone know where I could get a high quality sound clip for that vocal at the start "Action force international heroes!" ? desperately need it for a track!

  • I don't think there should be US remakes of British shows or vice-versa. I'm glad they made The Office but I think it should have been called "Dunder-Mifflin". Also glad that GIJoe is an American invention (dating back to 1964) and I don't care that the rest of the world gets a water-down version. Fact: Our 'Joe is an ethnically-diverse and arse-kicking American anti-terrorist force. An actual "Action Force" would look like an Aryan militia. They simply had to copy our Joes.

  • i agree with ulysses1981 i am english and to me it will always be action force

  • Agreed and this theme is so much better than the Gi Joe one.

  • much happier, yeah... much more heroic.

  • lol you joking right this shit is totally gay lol like fucking weak classical shit lol it sounds like some fucking ballet intro lol gay shit ever man.

while the American version has rock n roll guitars scream and way better action feeling then this British ballet crap lol its rubbish!!!

I tell one thing thats good from the British

    RADIOHEAD IS FUCKING AMAZING!!!

  • Where the Hell was the Cobra song?! Thank God the DVD release in the UK gave us the real version of the intro the movie.

  • what the fuck??? yo joe!!! damnit! yo joe1!!!!

  • to hell with america, who needs it? it's only 200 years old and already it thinks it knows everything... like a spoiled little baby among an ocean of ancients.

  • dude we would beat the hell out of you so fast you would not know what hit you! we build big trucks beacus we can, we make things people all over the world use! we help people befor we help ourself's. you are not shit so back down fuck stick, dont mess with the nation that needs medication!!! what have you done to help anyone? we made gijoe you changed the name of it, so from all americans who like GIJOE i say eat me crumpit sucker!

  • Are you having a laugh? You're paraphrasing an early scene in "Oxford Blues". But just so you know, the 'ancients' are suffering from Alzheimer's. They don't party anymore. They don't wanna go out at all. They're always complaining about stuff. But when the guy next door gets outta control with nukes and stuff, they stay home and draw the shades. You're on the Internet because of America. Aren't you the lucky one?

  • Comment removed

  • @IamEVILBLANKA Your comment was removed. You must've lied about something. Or everything. I'm not going to say that Americans invented everything cool. Just most things cool. The rest? We make it better. It's all part of our DNA.

  • It was missing most of the song. I don't get it. Do they switch UK patriotic stuff when it's brought to the States?

I know they make American versions of British shows mostly because of the "language and references" but to my knowledge not for patriotic reasons. Maybe there was some kind of anti-American backlash in the 1980s so they wanted to sell G.I.Joe overseas but tone down the patriotism. (?)

  • they switch EVERYTHING when importing UK stuff to the US, because americans dont give a shit about anything other than america... pretty well known little fact that they obsessively re-make every british show they think is good, and in the process ofcourse: they fuck it up completely..

I'm waiting in angst to see how they ruin Torchwood.

  • @hcvang Actually, Americans don't remake British shows. Brits come to America to sell their shows to the networks. They do this because the English versions don't take with mainstream America. More than the accents, it's a difference in phrases and slang. Torchwood? Check out Warehouse 13 on SyFy. That's the closest it will get. Though don't expect a bi-sexual immortal lead on US television anytime soon.

  • I can remeber this from when i was a kid is always be Action Force to me. I think Action Force sounds better then G.I.JOE i`d rather shout if had to " FULL FORCE" at the top of my lungs than "YO JOE" it sounds like your saying hi to someone called Joe lol

  • @ulysses1981 G.I.Joe is what American troops were referred to during WW2. "General Issue" was the standard garment and livery. And "Joe" was the most common American nickname.

  • I`d rather shout " FULL FORCE " in a fight than " YO JOE " lol

  • @ulysses1981

    YO JOE!

  • the north american song is better

  • Is it just me or did anyone who saw this in the G.I Joe movie was very disappointed that this very cool battle was the movie's climatic finish.

An all-out war around Lady Liberaty is one of the coolest ideas around.

  • WTF happened to Cobraaa and the kick ass song.

  • @XLipsonfaceX Uh...this is Action Force, the international version of GI Joe. Because the whole American super patriotic image of Joe doesn't exactly sell toys everywhere. : )

  • Actually it was still called G.I.Joe when it aired in Egypt during the 90's.

  • The Joes always operated internationally. And they never waved Old Glory when overseas. I think they should've come up with a different version called Action Force. Different characters. It's "international" so I guess all the players could've been Europeans since that's what international meant in that decade. ;)

  • @EvelTwinOfSlogmaster It was called Action Force in Europe. That's cause Europeans have a problem with American military forces operating under the US flag on their continent.

  • i loved this when i was a kid they dnt make cartoons like they use to. So im i right in thinking in the U.S it was neva called Action Force and had a different intro song??

  • wtf

  • well at least the bad guys are still snakeface and company...

  • @doronpainter I think Cobra was secretly a European terrorist organization. They always had accents on "G.I.Joe".

  • yeah but that remark was aimed at the fact Cobra stayed the same ugly lot of bums they were here in the US run, more or less.....

  • XFD at how shitty this is compared to the American version

  • @bobiscool138 It's just the music that's different. The voice actors too, but it was basically the same show and movie.

  • this is so bad i need to listen to the real one to fix my ears.

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • But Duke still carries up the AMERICAN flag!!

  • You were expecting the Union Jack at the foot of the Statue of Liberty? ; )

  • Haha, "International hero!"

  • wtf? i am from greece and i see that for the fisrt time on cartoons. on the figures i remeber says action force..

  • this... sucks

  • I agree to the change being total nonsense. What we can all agree on is that they where MEN (and yes women too) doing the right thing for all. It's for fun, not PR.

  • why is G.I.Joe have to be renamed in my region?

  • Not exactly renamed... when G.I. Joe started in the '60s, the UK had Action Man. At some point, the 2 companies (Hasbro and Palitoy) pooled their resources, so when G.I. Joe became the special mission force of the '80s, Action Man became Action Force (which included Joe figures in its toy line). Eventually, everything Action Force came from G.I. Joe.

  • Wow this totally sucks!! Its all happy!! The original movie was really cool and scarey music with COOBRAAA said a lot of times. Then the Joes beat them and it goes all cool.

  • I remember getting "Action Force: The Movie" when I was a kid and my first thought was "what's Action Force?". At the time I had no idea why they changed it for us, when you're a kid you don't give a damn about any of this politically correct nonsense or what flag they fly, nor whether it says "international" as opposed to "American". To me it was always GI JOE, because I watched it on Sky, and I didn't give two shits about their nationality.

    Plus this intro SUCKS.

  • what is this action force ? locks same like G.I joe

  • It was the UK release of GI Joe.

  • Some of these comments explain why countries don't get along well together! Sheesh!

  • Lol at how Duke still grabs a U.S. flag at the end. Sorry "mates"!

  • I used to have Action Force figures, you see no-one outside of the USA knows the term G.I. Joe, its basically gibberish

  • before internet as usual to change the cartoons and toys to each contry,

I saw in wikipedia that G.I Joe take a diferent name to each contry.

Warren Ellis when as piked to writhe the new cartoon said that never saw g.i.joe untill someone tell him that was action force.

The only contry that used g.i.joe out america was the japan

  • yeah it is true .. i watched "action force" and loved it throughout my childhood and still love it without realizing that G.I joe is Action force... until i found out on internet !!

  • It was GIJoe in Canada too.

  • Man, you cut out the COBRA! cobraaaaa! COBRA! cobraaaaa! you lose the entire awesomeness of that intro.

  • Hope you didnt think I made this version ;) because that the real Action Force British version

  • Oh, not at all. It was more of the all encompassing "you" of whoever in England butchered the intro.

  • Ok hahahahah

  • When Hasbro bought out the UK toy company that had created the Action Force toyline (it was it's own line before importing and repainting existing JOE figures), Hasbro decided to keep the line as Action Force because countries outside of the US wouldn't know what G.I. meant. The show and movie remained unchanged other then any mention of G.I.JOE was changed to Action Force and "Yo Joe!" was changed to "Full Force". The changes served their purpose and while pointless now, it wasn't then.

  • @frankieh Because of course, they would have outsourced the job of altering the intro for the UK market to a UK company wouldn't they?

They wouldn't just get people in their own studios to make the minor adjustments now, that would be too easy.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm being sarcastic.

  • @frankieh They had to cut it out because it was intergrated into the G I. Joe track. Plus timing reasons. Besides we had our own Cobra Commander dub voice and I doubt you wanted to hear it, maybe.

  • "Real American Hero?" More "Real U.S. Hero" to me. America is not a country!!! Is a continent! Stop stealing the name of the whole landmass! Other than that, great show, I watched it as a kid.

  • LOL the politically correct version of GI Joe

  • talk about the perfect example of lost in translation.....this is horrible.....

  • Comment removed

  • whats with this gay song...this isn't GI Joe

  • WHAT THAT FUCK

  • dang this song to me sucks n comparasion to the one i grew up watching. But we all grew up watching the same exact show just different name n theme song.

  • ACTION FORCE THE RISE OF COBRA

  • @dim432 That title's kinda lame.

  • Great toon but on reflection a bit too US lovey dovey a more international Action force would be better.

  • Why the fuck did they change it for UK?! GI Joe > Action Force.

  • it's australian slang. jesus fucking christ.

  • I never knew Action Force growing up,it was always GIJOE. I prefer the GIJOE song, for the film, because it works. It does denote the American patriotism and a slight American superiosim. However the same could have been said if it was originally a British/Japanese project, with possible British Army superiosim.

Really we shouldn't be squabbling over who is better as the World sucks enough already!GIJOE WAS cool, the movie will suck and it doesn't change a damn thing.

  • Action Force? They couldn't have come up with something a bit more creative? Then again it was the 80s.

  • G.I.Joe its not more creative ... its just that we are used to, its like all the MAN stuff "superMAN, spiderMAN, MegaMAN" etc its not creative at all just popular in UK Action Force its more popular than the word G.I.Joe

  • I didn't know that GI Joe existed until recently ... I guess it made sense to alter the IP a little for viewers outside of North Crank.

After hearing the GI Joe theme, I think I'll stick with this remix.

  • you stick incorrectly.

  • @0soci0path0 Seriously? "Action Force" is beige. It's vanilla. It's for kids who live behind Pink Floyd's freaking wall. You cannot get any more generic than that. Action, because the move about. And, Force, because they're in a group. No double meaning. No historical perspective. No nothing. Just beige.

  • oh this totally sucks,,, I use to love singing the theme to this movie... Cooooobra, COOOBRAAA.

  • Action force was better than G.I Joe but the G.I Joe movie theme tune was so much better than welll this...

    Crashing through the Sky

    Comes a feaful cry

    COBRA!

  • I think comics are better

  • always thought the cobra characters were the more interesting in this show. Even as a child i picked up on the Baroness and Destro gettin in on, and Cobra Commander's penis envy of Destro...ah they don't make like they used to.

  • This intro was much better than the Gi Joe version.
