  • UCRANIA -TERRA NUESTRA!!!

  • How can Brynner's character kill his own son?

  • @tom89zigman

He dishonoured his father and the cossack nation. He betrayed them.

  • @tom89zigman simple. Treason and betrayal

  • Film dermovenky. This is putting it mildly. You might have read the book ... Casting a terrible, their play at a low level, the costumes chosen worse, the atmosphere of the time there. The very worst movies.

  • It's kind of funny to see american version of russian story about relationship in Commonwealth. Truth is that Corssack and Poles lived in harmony till some shitty nobles start to treat corssacks like peasants so they start to fight for rights they desirve. But before that it was golden age for both of us (Poles and Corssacks). I personaly recomendet to see "With Fire And Sword". Greetings from Poland ...and sorry for my english:)

    SLAVA UKRAINA! VIVAT KORONA!

  • amazing, thanks for this video

  • GOGOL, IS THE GREATEST RUSSIAN AUTHOR. OTHERS FOLLOWED HİM ONLY...

  • @ayhanakelli48 Actually, Gogol was Ukrainian. He only wrote in Russian. That was the language to print. =Stefan=

  • @chengloki he served for Russian Culture anyway...

  • @chengloki he served for Russian Culture anyway...

  • @ayhanakelli48 This movie is not about Russia and the Ukraine. Zaporizhzhya Cossacks living in Ukraine.

  • i love the last 3 min

but if tat would have been my son id not shoot him id tortured him at front of the city gates for his polish girl to see how love corrupted him

  • rip tony curtis u were a great actor and we just lost the last actor from the golden era.

  • can you upload the rest of the movie please bro!

  • taras bulba kush ka marak!

  • do you knwo where i can download the soundtrack cd?

  • @jamesandchrisnz I think that it going to be so difficult, the movie was filmed long time ago, it was from 1962, just if you buy the full movie, you will have the full soundtrack, but if I know where you can get it, gladely, I will write to you.

  • @cerveral

thanks so much, any help would be great :)

  • @jamesandchrisnz The soundtrack CD is available on amazon.com -- I don't know if it's downloadable.

  • good movie

  • Can we see the full movie somehow ? thanks

  • Here is Yuls own comment about this movie:

"There's too much money, and there are too many idiots involved, I can't put my heart that far out on the line for an industry that no longer cares enough to be proud of the result. They're hacks, just earning a living. The cocksuckers ought to be parking cars - instead they're calling the shots for the whole film business.

(...) A great performance in a lousy picture is not going to get seen by anybody...

    (...)Fuck 'em-"

  • Intresting polish uniforms.... probably special gay-circus units...

  • Mi to przypomina bitwę rzymskich legionistów z maorysami z Nowej Zelandii:D

  • Its not historical movie

  • Ten film został stworzony dla widza bez wiedzy historycznej i IQ około 57. Jest to też film antypolski a Brynner niniejszym stracił u mnie cały szacunek.

  • I saw this movie when I was 8...

I remembered the scene of Taras killing his son for many years without knowing which movie was that, and having not figured the situation that act was under.

A couple days ago a professor of mine talked about Taras Bulba, and then I found it.

    Coincidences of life...

  • i like the ambush they had and then the pushing them off the cliff................

  • wat a basterd son he deserved to die...........

  • ppl here r retarded cossacks were just peasants mainly slavic and ukrainian that got fed up with being prosecuted tortured and took up arms againts there masters.................

and kicked alot of ass too.................

until the betrayel of the russians............

  • Yul Brynner - excellent actor - wish silly people stopped trying to make it "poitical" it was a film to entertain, cause emotions, create feelings for the characters - a bit like bambi (well not really but you get the gist) - leave politics out of it - it's a film enjoy it and Yul's performance for what it is and was - great for its day though Yul's charisma and presence will live on - unlike the twatty comments I've read here by some.

  • @Shesnoin

Too bad they not maked a musical placed in auschwitz, entertaining and creating emotions- why not final scene in gas chamber with music and dance.

Sorry but such productions can be classified as "bad taste"..if not worse.

Besides Gogol who wrote original story was forced by tsars censure to rewrite the book because it was "anit russian and pro ukrainian"...

As for the Yul.. i respecting him as an artist (great western movies ) but this time he got involved in a wrong reel...

  • idiotic movie even not true in 1% but this is russian mentality and behavior so shame so shame but . Next movie from russia will be

    Stalin as a

savior of the world from evil and terror

  • which he was, technically, as the head of the army which destroyed Hitler-brand fascism.

  • This is a glossy Hollywood treatment of an episode in history: the Cossack wars with Poland. It features a well known Slavic actor who was one of the leading

character actors in Hollywood. It may or may not be accurate. So much for Russia.

  • lol it's not russian cossaks, but UKRAINIAN!

  • u got that right..............

  • rare shit. non-historical. lol idiotic pictures.

  • One of the many good things about this movie was to shed light on when Poland was an imperial power. The contemporary view of Poland is as a weak state always partitioned by the greater powers.

  • The Kossacks are one of those 'obscure' people whose origins are hidden for many reasons much of it religious.

Kozaks or Khazars are kindred people who have different religions. The Kossacks were obviously Christianised though their focal point was the Arch-Angel Michael more than Christ. Khazars became Jewish, Kozars Islamic. Few remained Tengrists.

As a freeboot society many fugatives were taken in but these r kindred people with a strong Turkish heritage mixed with Slavs and Kolkis

  • Thank you for your comment, but I have had troubles with the owners rights in another videos, if I upload the full movie, I'm sure YouTube cancel my chanel.

    I'm so sorry!

  • Yul Brynner is anyway russian imigrant .He was born in Kamchatka peninsula in the far east . So no wonder he acepted this role.

  • I'm so sorry, but I don't understad. but thanks for your comment!

  • But I think that you are writing: Zaporosti, isn't it?

  • I like your vids very much, thanks.

  • Thank you Linda, you are so kind.

  • i am of ukrainian cossack blood and this is orthodox holy week, "put your faith in the Lord, your love in your sword and your sword in a wall street NYC bankster!

  • Happy Eastern!

Well I am not Cossak, but I would like to put a sword in all those that have created the world-wide crisis. :-D

    Thanks for your comment.

  • cerv, I am not a Cossak, I am a Kozak. There is a difference. We can survive. Can't you?? We never rely on the Government. They Lie. Always. We rely on ourselves. I hope you are not the head of your business, Obama will fire you. He controls all business. I'm waiting for the knock at the door, in the middle of the night. It's comming. =Stefan=

  • Dear Stefan, I am just a great fan of Yul Brynner, I love his work, as Ramses, King Monkut, Chris Adams, Taras Bulba and all his roles, and I make the videos as a tribute to Yul Brynner as an actor and as a very good friend he was.

    Lourdes

  • Cer, Yul was my uncle. There was many a times that he and my father would sit at the old kitchen table and drink and sing the old songs. Uncle Yul loved brandy. Pop always had a bottle in case he visited. (A little bit of trivia that no one knows). =Stefan=

  • Hi Stefan, is great to have again contact with a member of Yul's family, since Irena died, I have not contact with anybody of the family, I wrote Rock and Victoria, but they didn't answer me. Please tell me who was your father?

I'm so glad to find you.

    Lourdes

  • Chengloki that's BS.

Kozak has no real difference from Kossack or Khazar which need appreciation.

  • zaparoszchie!

  • Zaparoszchie! My friend. :-D

  • Bwaaaaaa...

    Besitos

  • Very nice video! Felicitaciones!

  • Thank you Monica, I'm glad you liked it!
