First of all, why does a woman comic have to be hot to have a career? It troubles me that men's issues are funny no matter how peripheral, but if a woman's humor isn't within a tight acceptable range, she is dismissed. Janeane Garafolo is brilliant, tough, and funny.

I can't help but comment on the stupidity of her main point about overeating being reducible to "it's just delicious." Sugar and simple carbs affect the brain very similarly to cocaine and other drugs, activating the same reward centers. So it can very much be an addiction. In addition, sugar and simple carbs can break down your body's ability to metabolize carbs, causing more calories to be diverted into fat cells rather than fueling the body properly, leading to more hunger. Vicious cycle.
