@wrightdrumlessons The POV is the one where you can see the sticks wailing away in front of me. Short clips. I stuck the camera to the roof, to one of the beams that support the acoustic ceiling using one of the flat Go Pro sticky pads. Thanks for watching.
@wrightdrumlessons cool man. im considering getting on of these HERO cameras but i dont like the 'fish-eye' look you get tho.. (edge of the rooms bend etc) is there a way around this? thanks man cool vid
@sixstringsensei let's put it this way; i have evans ec2's and remo resonant heads, 12, 14, and 16 toms.. if i want a similar tone as your toms how many turns do you THINK i should do for the reso and batter of my 12"? approximately.. using your knowledge XD.
@MikeDrumsForFun It would be impossible to calculate it like that no even if the heads match. Because it depends on whether or not the heads are borken-in or not. Plus, I use very different heads. Emperor clears on top, ambassador clears bottom. Search for Dave Weckl tuning video on YouTube. Also, my sound is heavily processed through the mics, recording app and plug-ins. EQ, compression, etc. You need to find what sounds good to your ears live.
@Sweeper5 Thanks man! Go to dannycruz. com and find the "drums" link in the topics section. There are a number of posts there that talk about the setup, recording and other info of these videos. -Danny
@redepoch76 I use Final Cut to edit my videos. Those drum videos are grainy due to the fact I was using house lamps instead of proper video/photo lamps. What I did was I used the color corrector in Final Cut and played with the sliders for a bit until I was happy with the results. I also used the color corrector visual wheel to remove some of the "yellow" from the video. Still has a lot of yellow, but you should see the original!
@sixstringsensei That's the problem I am having with it... It seems to only be white balanced for Daylight... Makes sense because it can't shoot in anything less than that...
You saw my basket video... terrible color rendition... I shot yesterday, it was overcast... the clarity was much better but the colors don't pop at all... Not even close to my other camera... canon 60D... I am just trying to get ANYTHING close to the videos on the go pro website...

@thegreek123 Hi. No, there's no way the GoPro can capture that sound. You can record it with the GoPro, but the results won't be the same. I used semi-pro sound recording equipment for this. Then sync'd it with the video. Thanks for the comment. -D

how do you tune your toms/kick?

@MikeDrumsForFun resonant heads tighter than batters. Always.

Nice video!
You have any tips for color correction? I have had some trouble with these cameras due to their grain... Low light situations are killing me with it.
Any advice you can give would be great!
