  • This Led Zeppelin fella,,He could really go places if he sticks to this music thing.

  • @vinnycriss I don't know why your comment made me laugh like crazy. I read it then turned away and started laughing and went back to my laptop just to make sure I read it right and laughed harder when I saw I did. Well done.

  • Pageys masterpiece.

  • @markre60 Indeed my friend, indeed!

  • Who said what about "stoner days"? I heard LZ LIVE in 1977, Greensboro, NC, and I can tell you that not EVERYONE was stoned at that concert. One of my best days, ever...

  • Whenever a drummer comes over for an audition, have him play this drum line to decide if he knows his stuff or not...

    Best test out there

  • @Initiateofthe3rdcirc Dude, even John Bonham couldn't play his own drumlines the same every time, he improvises; they all improvise every time. It's genius. >:)

  • o-o-o-o-o-o-ooooh

    i know the way

    know the way

    know the way

    know thw way

  • A rush like no drug could ever provide just shuderd my soul i opened my eyes and im back in the 70s my turntable whailing led.My 1967 charger fastback still sitting in the drive ready for a trip to red river gorge and plenty of led and smoke for the trip.

  • John Paul Jones told Jimmy Page that the arrangement of this song "could never work." Jimmy proved his point and was proud of this arrangement, which is a classic in my book.

  • B O N H A M !!!! My God, how can a human being make those sounds from a drum kit?

  • Who does not know metal.....!!!! just dont know Zeppelin.

  • The title refers to Plant's ruptured achilles tendon. The subject matter of the lyrics refers to Plant's rush to get out of the UK due to tax reasons. He was brought back to the UK for treatment for his serious injuries but was unable to stay due to the UK's punitive tax laws. He would have been classed as domiciled in the UK if he'd stayed in the UK for one more day hence the flight to Jersey, and hence all the band having to leave the UK - the taxman!!

  • 1 person couldn't stand up to the sheer epicness of this song...

  • it's called an obelisk... it's just an object

  • Ah yes, the stoner days. I saw a lot of bands growing up road tripping to Houston and San Antonio to concerts a lot. But I never got to see LZ. I did catch the Plant / Page tour in the 90s. That was the only time I got to see Jimmy Page play his godlike guitar. But at the time they were promoting their new release Walking into Clarksdale and ddn't get to hear but a few of the old classics. Still it was good.

  • led zeppelin is my favourite band and even though i dont agree with all their stuff i.e in through the out door i do think they are one of the best

  • Sending off a glancing kiss,<---wrong s/b Swept NEW YORK a glancing kiss.

That churns up into stone<---wrong s/b That TURNS THE FEET TO stone.

  • @JasonTheGuitarHero Thanks, my fellow Zep Head :D

  • fucking song is epic

  • Probably one of my favorite Zeppelin songs if not my favorite. I love how it picks up and just goes.

  • great robert!!!!!

  • they was the band then !

  • I don't get how people say this album sucks when it has such gems like Achilles Last Stand, Tea For One, For Your Life...

  • @cito117 Led Zeppelin didnt last enough to fail.. They ended without any failures.. Personally i like every album of them!

  • @cito117 i say , Led Zeppelin Had NO fail album , i like em all , that shows the genius of this band

    The best EVER!

  • @cito117 Well if it does suck, then everything else (except other Led Zeppelin songs) is just a rotten piece of trash compared to it!

As for me, I believe Led Zeppelin made every song completely beyond creativity!

  • NNOOOOO! HELP ME! I Accidently hit Dislike, but I didn't want to! What do I do now?!

  • @Madman13K There aren't any dislikes on this video...

  • @TubasEveryDay Thank goodness for that. One way or another its been set right....

  • @Madman13K you should die in hell... hahaha

  • @Madman13K You must hit like 1.000.000.000

  • @Madman13K kill yourself its the only way to save your soul

  • Epic. but I think you got one part of the lyrics wrong "oh Albion Remains" I hear as "All will be remains". Of course I've no good argument for this other than it's what I heard and I think it's cooler...

  • @Madman13K actually now I hear "All will be a remain" so I think its impossible to be conclusive

  • love this song

  • THE ONE TRUE GOD. "JIMMY PAGE"

  • This is one song that is definitely better sober. Gets you on your feet.

Holy shit this song is epic...

  • 3:30-5:15

    sex to my ears.

  • My favorite Zeppelin song...

  • Has there ever been a more versatile band in history?

  • @khuddle yes

  • @khuddle NO!! sorry for the short answer. lol"s

  • John Fucking Bonham....

  • The intro sounds like something Page dug up from an ancient cave......

  • wen i read the comment i laffed my ass off, my health teacher played this while the class was working n he happens to b in a wheelchair, sorry coincidences make me laff but this song is fucking awesome!

  • 0 people went into Last Stand

  • What is "The Object" anyway?

  • What is the object anyway?

  • 0 dislikes. exactly what it deserves.

  • i love the outro...its magic and everytime when i listen to it i want to smoke weed

  • Listen to the drums. WAaaaaay under rated! Jon Bonham was one of the best to ever play!

  • Anything any of you has to say about this song, is an understatement.

  • The lyrics were inspired by the bands experiences and road trips. In particular Morocco and the Atlas Mountains. The line "The mighty arms of Atlas, holds the heavens from the earth" is referring to how the Atlas Mountains extended up through the coulds, and looked like they were holding up the sky. There was also referrences to the band getting back in the studio after plants crash "With all the fun to have ... With all the songs to sing, when we at last return again"

  • Its titled "Achilles Last Stand" in acknowledgment to Robert Plant's broken leg. He was in a car crash in Greece in 1975, breaking his ankle and tearing his achilles tendon, and it was feared hed never be able to walk again. Plant sang the lyrics from his wheelchair, and the song was almost titled "Wheelchair Song."

  • @rebelsike thank god it wasnt titled wheelcahir song. that isnt nearly as cool as achilles last stand

  • @rebelsike u trolling brah? ;P

  • @DaViDpWnSs And no, I don't troll brah, I just relay what Ive read and learned. Its stuff anyone can find if they look for it.

  • @rebelsike I ruptured my Achilles tendon a couple of years ago....I can definitely empathize with the author of this song...LOL!!!

  • @rebelsike ...nope has nothing to do with it ...bob did break his leg and it was his achilles heal in 75 that he had problems with...but listen to the words ...has nothing to do with it...except for the name,,,you people are funny...

  • @bozo47p Your names befitting of you BOZO. Ill try to refrain from publically humiliating you in front of potentially millions of web users. However, Ive read and studied more about this band, then the palm of your hand has studied your dick. Now of course the lyrics have nothing to do with the crash or Plants leg or he being in a wheelchair. If youd read my comment 7 posts up, youd know that. Now please dont insult yourself anymore. Just enjoy the music and STFU.

  • @rebelsike ...gee hillbilly you impress me why don't you pull your dick out of your sisters ass for five minutes and read a book...you are so wrong, but fun to fuck with

  • @bozo47p Now why would you say such a hurtful thing? Calling a person a hillbilly, and besides the politically correct term is Appalachian American. This is the 21st century we no longer use such profain and vulgar words to describe races and ethinic groups. And what the hell are you arguing with me about? I clarified that that I know the song has nothing to do with the wheelchair. "Wheelchair Song" was a working title while it was in production because the group still didnt settle on a title.

  • @rebelsike ...golly...Appalachian American...mmmm, o.k. you silly hee haw watching inbred retard... I'll play your silly game...be very carefull of what you say to people or very bad things will happen to you...thats the magic of the internet ,its not hard to track you down ....

  • @bozo47p First of all, I'm about 30 years to young to have ever seen Hee Haw. Second nowhere does my Family Tree make a circle, ruling out your inbred theory. Third Im pretty sure based on the grammar and dialects of our posts, my intelligence far superseeds your own. Darn thats 3 strikes, your out. And Im really not intimidated by the empty threats of a geriatric impodent fool.

  • @bozo47p Oh, and really goes to show your intelligence level that the only thing you could come up with is about fucking my sister. Real original. Your jokes are hilarious. You really should write for Leno. And your right I don't read books, I have a Kindle.

  • @rebelsike ....aww c'mon man you can do better than that...your an Appalacian American ...I bet you have Hee Haw on dvd, lol...hey buddy ,when you and your sister get married what are you going to name your first born...earl,bufford or bubba...lol

  • @rebelsike haha brahh...i meant it ina good way xD i didnt know..i googled it..hhaaha

  • this was a great year, i just entered high school, Frampton Comes Alive, Boston's first album, Lynerd Skynerd, weed was cheap! great times let me tell you!

  • Such an underrated song.

  • Pagey at his best...

  • i could be wrong tho

  • it was "the mighty arms of athens" (i think) not of atlas but who cares lol... great song and u were close lol

  • @MrOwenistheman Its atlas btw. just helping out! P.

  • @MegaZephead lol ok i just really thot it was athens cause that makes more sense and sounds more like it but whatever

  • @MrOwenistheman

It's Atlas - google it and learn something !

  • @MrOwenistheman that doesn't make sense cause athens is a city and atlas is the greek god that holds the earth..

  • Best Song. EVA

  • its about Achilles story before he died in battle

  • @cichlidofoid But dont u think plant refers himself as albion?, also the opening lines, sounds like plants talking of the band. even later in the song also. whats your thought? thanx!

  • would love to know what everyone thinks this song is about!?

  • @MegaZephead I read in Hammer of the Gods that this song was about Jimmy Page and Robert Plant's travels in Morocco... And the song is named "Achillies Last Stand" because Robert Plant had a fucked up ankle when they wrote the song...

  • @MegaZephead its really about Plant breaking his leg

  • By far one of their best songs!

  • Error in the lyrics. It's not "It wasn't even morning" It's "It was an April Morning" :)

  • @acdcfan014 Thanks :D

    stupid LyricsFreak. . . . .

  • Mesmerized...again...LedZeppelin...HELL YEAH!!!
