I did this twice yesterday in the snow. It was absolutely amazing! I was with a big group and we made everyone do it atleast once! I used my lift ticket to save 4 dollars on the ticket!
Why don't they run the chairlift for mountain bikers? Now that Lutsen doesn't do it anymore people wouldn't have to drive all the way up from the cities!
Its true. I just went on it last weekend. I went the first time with my 2 1/2 yr old daughter pretty fast. The 2nd time I went down by myself and let all Adrenaline go ha ha. This thing rocks. I hear they have a Spooky Halloween ride coming up and supposed to run it in winter.
This is a fantastic Alpine Coaster. We just went on 9/4 and had a blast! Love it and would have went all day except the LONG wait in line 45min to an hour. Go on a week day - less lines. BTW, SS is right, DON'T touch the brakes, way better ride.
My family is down near the Twin Cities, we came up here to camp at spirit mtn. during the fourth of july. We rode it, the turns were really fun, I LOVE DULUTH!
One thing that this ride suffers from is slow riders who act like this attraction is dangerous or something. They should take the brake controls away from the driver. My trip down was like following a funeral chain of cars. Which made me want to die.
Spirit Mountain hit a home run with this attraction. I went on the 4th of July with my family and we had a blast. One nice feature about the ride is that you have exclusive control over the brakes. This enables you to choose what kind of ride you want; you can suck up the incredible scenery while traveling at a leisurely pace or travel full-speed for an adrenaline rush. As a result, this ride will appeal to family members of all ages.
@ShiftyShiff Depends on how you want. There is a Day Pass (not sure of the price yet, that's still up in the air) otherwise it's $8/ride. You can get a 10 pack of tickets for $60 ($6/ride) as well.
What I tell everyone is that you HAVE to ride it at least twice. The first time is to get used to the track, the second time (assuming you like adrenaline) is when you can just let loose and not touch the brake until the end.
nice

@MyTravis2011 If I remember correctly, MAX is like 25mph, but if you get 2 people on it, it will go faster
