JAMC is my favorite band, but I gotta say Pixies does a damn good job covering Head On. Suits Francis Black madman voice perfectly. I like both versions, slow/fast.

No your right. I agree that the original is better and its one great song. However personally I didn't care for his singing. I just made an obnoxious comment to share my over exaggerated thoughts on it. The truth is its not over the top poop as I put it before. It just didnt appeal to me.

I revere the J & M Chain version, but you almost cant compare the two. Pixies re-tooled the entire tune.

Calling them punk really isn't all that off. Remember Black Flag wore their street clothes onstage too. Only punk fashonistas think to be a punk means you gotta sport a mohawk or bondage pants. If anything they were pure rock n roll.
