  • Not bad, Mr. Darius, not bad. You did attempt to understand something of the magnificent cadences of that speech. If you receive an invitation to audition for something that has "Wilderness" in the title, please come and...avail yourself of it. I like the sound of your voice and your very brave attempt...but remember, you must NEVER place yourself above the character but humbly try to see him in all his emotional and experiential raiment that you can imagine when you perform him.

  • I love the speech, hate the actor...He's acting too much, it's not believable.

  • He has a great voice.

  • lol he makes me laugh even though it is good'

  • Why are we celebrating 4th of July? waz slaves freed on July 4th 1776?? no.... Our "4th of July" wasn't established until June 19th, 1865, not January 1st, 1863 or July 4th, 1776.

  • Working on that. I will be in Cali early 2011.

  • I had just met Mr. Douglass, through his AutoBi, A Narritive Of The Life of Fredreck Douglass, and My Bondage & My Freedom.

The more I learn of this God Fearing Man, the Greater My Outrage that I had NOT Heard His Testimony beyond Sippits used by some to present a Man different then who he really was.

  • Fredrick Douglas 1852 speech should be read, reenactments viewed, and both discussed every year until racial disparity and racial oppression are vanquished.

  • Outstanding! Incredible speech by Frederick Douglass, and this gentlemen was outstanding, in potraying it!

  • Happy Juneteenth!!!

  • Help! The black man in America has lost his civil rights again.

It's just something about the black man, we just do not like.

  • Great voice, great movement, great performance.

  • Why we don't celebrate independece Day,,Listen to what Fredrick Douglass said on the slaves independence in the U.S. Strong speech 1841

  • When reading about Frederick Douglass I hear a voice in a tone like this gentelman. Mr Douglass's voice is described as a low baratone voice.

This was great! Thanks for posting.

  • Pretty cool. Most people nowadays haven't heard Douglas' message. This is a great way to get it out there.

  • This is an excellent Douglas reenactment. How may one contact the unidentified actor?

  • great speaking.
