  • You better switch out the fans. High CFM fans are not for this cooler. You need high static pressure fans for it.

  • SLI devil

  • stock cooler = 55-60 celcius idle / megahalems = 30-35 celcius idle :P

  • could you please let me know how you connected the 2 fans to the motherboard?

    How did you connect them?

  • @theredrooter I have several Fan connections on that motherboard that allowed me to hook both fans up. Most motherboards have at least 3-5 standard. Some have more. Hope this helps!

  • @pestilencec11 thank you very much for the reply. I was just wondering if you connected them to the cpu connector or just wome place else. Because if connected to the same 1 CPU connector there's need for a Y cable I believe and the MB has to supply lots of current. Mine supports 2Amps or 24Watts.

  • Hello, can this cooler degress my cpu temperature ?

    CPU : Intel Core i3 540 3.07 GHz @ 4,1 GHz 1,33v ?

    Thanks

  • This heatsink with 2 fans is a cooling BEAST. GOOD GOD @ this...

I see that this video is a bit old though. How are those fans holding up to the this heatsink nowadays?

  • @Shorty20122012 Actually just sold that setup not to long ago.. It was still rocking like a champ with idle temps @ 33,32,34,31 with about 54 hours of uptime and tons of coding HD videos :D OC @ 4.2ghz HT on

  • @Shorty20122012 Well I did sell the setup not to long ago. They were still rocking like the beasts they are :)

  • its a great cooler i got mine from microcenter for 35 bonesit didnt come with the paste but who cares i wasnt going to use it anyway i use mx3

  • @asus3571 It should.. I know mine did.. I just didn't show it in the video.

  • @pestilencec11 i got mine open box so someone just kept it from what i here the prolimatech paste is pretty bad

  • @asus3571 Its not *bad*, but its not for a high end user. :)

  • Does this come with the fans or did you purchase them separately?

  • @fiestababy05 I got mine separately. Push pull is a nice config :)

  • is it still the best cooler????

  • @GermanHipHopMusic IMHO, air colling yes.

  • @GermanHipHopMusic thx i think im going to order this one on ebay now

  • microcenter has sick deals for core i7 but anything else is nothing special price wise

  • @callofdutyguy9 This is true. Wish they would price there stuff more accurately .

  • you know how you said micro tech insted of micro center? i think i like the name micro tech better than micro center haha =p...anyways nice video man, this is your first video right?(like it said in the beginning)you did a really good job,ha better than me i can already say.

  • @Homebrew2all Yea I think I did lol.. thanks for point that out. :) Thanks. I am still improving. I have tons of videos that I am messing with atm. So stay tuned :P

  • @pestilencec11 alright cant wait haha btw i subbed (:

  • @Homebrew2all Nice.. I subbed you also :)

  • Wait dude will this work with a Core i7 930 bloomfeild in an Antec 1200 case?

And do you have to buy new fans?

  • @DrustxPlague oh yea man.. I had the Antec 1200 with the first megatron and it worked like a champ :)

  • @pestilencec11 Ah awesome but do you need a heat sink?

And if I get it I don't think it comes with fans, so I have to buy new ones or did you only get new ones because the stock ones werent good?

  • @pestilencec11 the megatron is the heatsink ;P.. You are correct, it does not come with fans.. I bought the 2 for a speady push/pull. :)

  • i'm reading up that this is the best i7 cooler out there (non liquid) yet some sites say thors hammer... if i say i "want" the best non liquid cooling, what would you suggest? i have $ and LOTS of it ;) i just don't wanna kill myself with the nitrogen... or spill it on my computer because i'm very sloppy.

  • @izlude2 The megashadow is new and looks great.. Cools just as good as the first one they put out on the market.. You could use a push pull with a few high speed Yate's or Deltas.. both so a superb job :)

  • @pestilencec11 awesome thanks. also, what's the best way to get that goo off the CPU. It's the stuff that came already on the intel stock cooler.

  • @izlude2 What I do is use 91% or higher rubbing alcohol with some cotton balls.. I dab it a few times to wet it and then just wipe all the goo off :D

  • Good video helped me alot

  • @nigge2 thanks.. glad it was helpful :)

  • What a name

    Prolimatech Megahalems

    Great video review though!

  • Lol. It's S- L- I. Not sly.

  • wow someone sure is ignorant.. Come on man.. this has been posted before.. how old are you? The "common" people use "SLY" as its just a simple way to say it. This video is just a simple unbox.

  • @pestilencec11 Lol I'm ignorant because I know the correct way to say it? Ok, that makes sense.

  • @doomtomb3 Did you even read my reply?

Guess not. Please dont flood my page with

    useless comments. K thanks

  • @pestilencec11 Yes I read it. Only thing is I've heard it said dozens of times by a variety of people and have never heard it pronounced as sly. please understand.

  • Its simple. SLY, S L I. You have heard of ATI I'm sure?? Ok, so they have (cross fire) and (quad fire) Nvidia is S L I. Most people that read know about both of these company's. Point being made here is, that most people for ease of use, use short term things like LOL= Laugh out loud.. Fallowing me now? Ok, so for nvidia, the slang (SLY) and ATI usually is (xfire). Most people know xfire as the online chat program typically used by gamers. I use the (slang) terms for ease of use.

  • How large are those 2 fans ? and Does the heatsink come with 1366 bracket ?

  • Fans are 120mm and yes the heatsink does come with 1366 bracket. :) The model I have doesn't come with AMD setups. I think the newer ones do :)

  • So do u think this heatsink gonna fit the 140mm fan?

  • If you use zip ties im sure you could get it to fit :)

  • Comment removed

  • Megatron all the way. V10 has tec and still doesn't cool as good as the megatron. Get a couple good static pressure fans and your set in push/pull :)

  • Awesome cooler. Just fitted over the weekend. Easily took my i7 860 from 2.8Ghz to 4.0Ghz. Highly recommend it, max load temps around 68 degrees

  • what power do i need for i7 920 sapphire 5850 3gb kingston 1866mhz ,1hdd ,3vents and this cooler vith 2 fans? and thermaltake armor+ full tower

  • Comment removed

  • 750 max 650 min.

  • why did u mention the tower ??? does your tower need to be plugged in lol ? :P

  • @avest021 a good quality 750-850 watt PSU, i would reccomend a Corsair HX750 or HX850 depending on if you want to add any hardware in the future. :)

  • Im going to be installing this in my antec 1200. I have heard and seen people mounting it to blow air towards the top of the case, any insight if this is a better way with the antec 1200 or should I just go default towards the back?

  • I would suggest having it face to the rear of the case. Pulls less heat from the mem.. Although if you can't fit it because of the mem then just switch it. :)

  • Now Prolimatech is selling the B version is a bit better than the old one because includes 4 120x120x25 clips.

Just ordered some day.s ago i will also post my review about it.

  • Yea there has been people that emailed the company and they listened! Me included. :) Let me know when its up so I can check it out :)

  • Nice review

  • thanks :)

  • Nice, I'm getting that cooler soon for my i5, should overclock well. I have the same case as you :D

BTW, SLI is pronounced "S L I"/"ES EL EYE" not "SLY" lol

  • Do you use that sticker/pad that comes with the backplate on an x58 MOBO/ Core i7 920 ? Or is that sticker/pad only for LGA775 not LGA1366

  • I am soo confused between a corsair H50 vs this with 2 fans.

Everything I read benchmark for this they say this is better but when I read bench/review for corsair they say H50 is better.

hell check 3Dgameman overthere his result was 59 C for i7920 OC to 4.0ghz

I am soo confused which bench/review I should trust..

  • Honestly... go Promlima.. why.... no water mess to deal with. Little loud... but it DOES get the job done, and it does it great.

  • I wouldn't believe much of what he says anyways. Prolima is far better than the Corsair. The prolima will beat any of those all in one water cooling units. Either get the prolima, or go for a decent water cooling setup with a heatkiller.

  • 3DGameMan marks everything as 'great' or 'kickass' so I wouldn't count much on his reviews other than for a basic idea of what the product comes with.

I've seen a few trustworthy websites mark the MegaHalems as THE BEST cooler, better than the Corsair H50.

  • this vs corsair h50

  • THIS (magatron) Dont think the H50 is meant for OC'ing at all. Mine is 4.0 ghz daily use idle 33 load 70 LinX. Lower with other apps as they are not demanding like linX is on the CPU.

  • Nice video. Good to know Microcenter carries extra mounting brackets. I'll have to run out and buy those! Also, you should add

devsain comment in your info so people don't leave that foam spacer in there. I found that a little fishy too and wanted to make sure you didn't melt your CPU away. Good video!

  • awesome vid man, I still can't decide wether to get the Prolimatech Megahalems cooler or the true 120 black, both awesome coolers :)

  • Well the numbers prove that the Magatron cool better then the True, even when its lapped. I would get the new megatron if you decide to buy it. Looks mean :D

  • what temps do u get ?, i have zalman 9500 and i7 oc at 3.3GHZ

  • 33 idle with an OC of 4.0ghz HT off and Turbo on. :) linX load temps reach about 74 highest but average of 70

  • so since it doesn't come with a fan, can i get it without the fan and it styll perform the same

and it would be silent as hell1

  • It needs a fan to help move the heat off the pipes, so no it would not perform the same. There are fans that are basically silent and can push the heat very well. Noctua are famous for silent fans. They also last very long as well.

  • about time someone at less made video of the best cpu cooler :)

  • Yea I figured I would make one. Not to many out there. Glad you liked it :)

  • how do you install the fans that go on the megahelms? which way do you put them?

  • The fans should have little arrows pointing which direction they blow. Look on them and you will see. Then install accordingly.

  • Nice cooler! 5/5 Starz

Run temp test before you lap , so you have a base to start with. Also check to see how flat your CPU and cooler are before lapping. I have a vid on the way I check my CPU before lapping.

    Hope to see more vids!

    LazyMan :-)

  • Oh cool. I will do.

  • is the Megahalems the best cPU cooler for an overclocked i7??

  • Its the best air CPU cooler period.

  • this is true

  • @Maestrotogo nope, the BEST air cooler is the Thermalright Silver Arrow, and the second is the noctua NH-D14

  • @nictherocker Notice when I said that, my comment was made a year ago...when it was the best air cooler period.

  • current to date it has beatin all major names in all the same tests. So yes it is.

  • yes

  • i noticed you didnt take out the foam in the middle of the heat sink :O

  • I left it in for the video and took it out once I did the final install. :)

  • Very good for a first video

  • Thank you sir. I have much to improve on though. Next one will be even better :)
