  • Seen them on this tour in 1979 - they opened for KISS Dynasty tour. They were awesome

  • The most awesome METAL MOMENT ever was Priest doing this number at LIVE AID.

  • I love Priest! I just can't believe Halford's a sword swallower. Explains all the leather now... lol!

  • This whole album is epic. Friend had the old record but sold it for coke. :(

  • @gulgathore88 I have the album, was tempted to sell a few of mine for drugs, but I kicked 'em before the habit got too extreme, saying that, I'd never sell my most precious records

  • Must be getting old. Only 170 K hits on a awsome song lol. Best Band ever.

  • Por Dios!!!!!........esto es HEAVY METAL........CON MAYUSCULAS.......que sonido......aplastante......y del año 1979 y grabado en directo......quien ha visto algo igual.....ALUCINANTE.....SON LOS MEJORES.....

  • and you come sneaking around.... making me do things I don't wanna do.....

This whole album is strong. I couldn't care less if it was really studio or not. It's perfection, every track.

  • @SgtCrom Yeah, there is a distinct difference btwn metal & rock, I'll give you that. Fair enough.

  • @SgtCrom Actually, I'd vote for The Who's Live at Leeds as the best live album in rock history.

  • i love that song ,remember the days when i was a little kids

  • If its live or not, they play the whole song in 1 take. Which is the same thing as live except with the crowd.

  • Besides Hero,Hero...My Favorite Priest album!!!!!!!!

  • I like this version best

  • Peter Green wrote it( also penned Black Magic Woman) His soul was dark But Priest's interpation was definitely possessed.

    \m/

  • Fleetwood Mac did the original.

  • The end is awesome

  • So fuckin HEAVY ! \m/

  • dam this song rocks metal gods laying it down

  • Glen and KK.. enough said!! oh add halford in the mix.... its over the top!!!

  • DUDE SAYS-GODS OF ROCK

  • awesome performance

  • This is my fav. version

  • The original and this version are too different to compare; Peter Green was a God, Judas Priest are Gods.

  • Halford is god, his high notes are incredible in this version, no match for the classic. Sorry, but that is the true. Heavy Metal blasts all.

  • Cool idea turning it into a piece of metal haha, but come now the originals are always best plus with Peter Green he had a spiritual connection with this song that no body can imitate or copy.. THIS version just leaves a sour taste in your mouth

  • @clikityclak This version rocks and puts the original to shame. We can agree to disagree.

  • Rob is GOD!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY METAL GOD!

  • 9 out 10 doctors prescribe this song for erectile dysfunction. For example, I went from 6 to midnight in like 3 seconds. Peace.

  • Love this version.

  • Just to put it to rest.... this album WAS live, but some of the recordings were either damaged or of poor quality, so Rob redid some of the vocals in the studio.

  • To hell with you guys... Who cares whether this is recorded live or not.. What really matter is that this is definitely one of the best metal songs ever produced in the history of mankind ( although this is a cover song )... Yeahh just listen to the riffing, music arrangement & the double solos makes me wonder only metal gods can prevail the perfect moments of heaviness... Long Live Judas Priest... Much respect from Malaysia..

  • @datokson this cover song? from who? they ve done it so good that i tough that i tough it s their song. that must be reson why i can t find studio :)

  • @DrMisterAleksa So is Diamonds and rust. Don't matter whose song these guys play, they tear it up!

  • @datokson hell yeah, this is such a badass performance too

  • @datokson best line ever...only metal gods can prevail the perfect moments of heaviness...

  • @datokson It sounds weird to say,but Fleetwood Mac did this song w/Peter Green...before Stevie Nicks...But,one of my favorite Priest songs.I bought Hell Bent For Leather and Sin After Sin at the same time in 1978 on cassette(listened to on Walkman) ;D

  • Do " Research ' I don't do any stink'n Research , just drink Beer and listen to the damn music ...

  • When you type Judas in youtube the first thing that comes up shouldn't be Lady Gaga, fuck her.

  • @flootisboy65 I would...hard too...but that faggot Rob Halford won't. Still Judas Priest kicks ass.

  • @flootisboy65 too fucking true brother.

  • This is THE best recorded version of this song even if it is live. So much better than the studio version or that Fleetwood Mac one :( This song is amazing; guitars/vocals, wow. I wore out 2 cassette tapes of Unleashed in the East back in the day. Still jam to the CD now:) Thanks for sharing!

  • @Falco66441 it's not live...

  • @mouloudo lol, it is live, you can't hear the audience in the beginning? It was recorded live in Japan in 79 during a concert, which yes, is live.

  • Hell Bent for Leather tour btw. :)

  • @Falco66441 you should do some research man, it was recorded in the studio the nickname of the album is Unleashed in the Studio, of course there's the audience sound, but the instruments and vocal especially were rerecorded, notice you cant hear the audience during the songs even if you pout hte volume full blast, and the vocals dont sound live at all

  • @mouloudo the vocals were re-recorded, sure. the rest wasnt.

  • @mouloudo what does hearing the audience have to do with a live album.

If you pull the sound off the board you will not have audience sound but straight music. Best you could hope for is a bit of bleed from the mic but that would be doubtful. Legit live albums are not recorded by bootleggers out in the crowd..............

  • @sammydwm there's always mics above the crowd on recorded shows, a live album without crowd sounds would be dull... anyway that was just an example, it's well known that this album is not live, even Rob Halford admited it wasn't

  • The epitome of metal.

  • what? this is total shit compared to the original, kids

  • @crawlinkingsnake80

Couldnt agree more, but the guitar isnt so bad.But without all the background atmosphere of the original.. it really takes away the fear of somthing crawling out of your speakers haha

  • @crawlinkingsnake80 I fucking LOVE Judas Priest, but you can't beet Peter Green. The Original was so haunting

  • @crawlinkingsnake80 Both versions are great IMO

  • Robert Halford Rules Rock

  • FUCKING RULES FOREVERMORE..............JUDAS PRIEST THE METAL GODS

  • Beyond the OMFG Epic rating!!

  • cant think of any live metal album that beats this...not when I cranked it in 81, and not now...

  • @8484terry this is one of my all time favorite metal albums

  • Priest at their best

  • kick asss !!

  • Hey guys I heard Rob Halford was gay

  • @MegaMagicman89 WHAT!!!!! what a news flash that is. next thing your gonna say is that freddy mercury or elton john is also. Dont spread rumors man!

  • @highstakesdonk lol :-))

  • @MegaMagicman89 obvious troll is obvious

  • You had to raunch this tune out so bad, when F.M. beat you to the punch 9 years earlier, and put this version to shame !

  • this song reminds me of the orange butted tooting hudit who lives in the swamps of kenya and not so frequently gets bloody noses in italian restaurants

  • @breathcatcher666

I read somewhere that the vocals got messed up during the actual live performance and Rob had to do them again in the studio and they were dubbed over the original recording.

  • they opened up for Black Sabbath in 1970. That would have been interesting!

  • I like fleetwood macs version but this is so fucking amazing version!! Judas Priest Metal Gods!!!

  • Perfect!!!!!

  • JUDAS PRIEST---''GREEN MANALISHI''

  • 2:40-3:15 one of the best things my ears have ever heard

  • Way better than fleetwod macs version

  • Fantastic!

  • perfect perfect perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Found it!!!

  • 1 dipshit dislikes this song.

  • @ApsanaRose Yah. Probably some justin beber fan. This fuckin' rocks!!!! Long live Judas Priest!!! I saw them live for their Pain Killer tour. They are fucking amazing!!!!

  • this rocks but seriously nobody can diss peter green. this is his song god dammit! peter green pretty much invented this kind of music so you should be thankful to him; don't be a complete retard and try and say that these guys are better than peter green, but recognize judas priest as a legit band and that they are respected enough to cover this. however, YOU CAN'T DISS PETER GREEN THESE GUYS AREN'T A HAIR ON HIS ASS. However, I do like Judas Priest too.

  • @traigogoodmusic Rofl. Get out of here son. Judas Priest took this boring song and made it one of the best metal songs of all time. Peter Green, lol, what a joke.

  • @Galkatokk I love Judas Priest, I love Amon Amarth and I love Fleetwood Mac. Peter Green is one of the most talented blues guitarists ever. Just because you don't like him, doesn't mean to he's a joke.

  • I wore out the needle on my record player with this song. Love the beat, long live JP.

  • jporcel100 you dumb ass rob halford is gay you guys just diss then get all pissed when somone talks shit fuck off bitch

  • why you here zergy1 dont listen you hippy lol

  • you have no soul zergy1 ha ha wtf dont come on here say crap if dont like then dont listen

  • The fact that JP chose to record 1of Peter Green's songs is a testament to Peter

Greens influnence on Rock Music. Listen back to Peter Green's earlier recordings experience the shifting tides of Rock genres in the making. Too Bad his mental state was so effected by the substances of those times. "Oh Well" ;)

  • The fact that JP chose to record one of Peter Green's songs is a testament to Peters contribution to all of rock music. Listen back to Peter Green's earlier recordings and be treated to the shifting tides of hard rock music genres in the making. Too bad his mental state was so effected by the substances of the time. "Oh, Well". :)

  • this still jamz!

  • All the haters should fuck off!

  • The previous comment is from an uneducated ass wipe who doesn't know a damn thing about music. The person was referring to Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, not the Fleetwood Mac of '70s fame. Also, it is worth noting that this pinhead falls back on homosexual references such as "conceited prick" and "nutsack." Guys who do this are usually repressed homosexuals.

  • yeah great sound full of energie and i love the guitar sound of this group

see them with my love in paris the 20 of june....

  • I just wish that I could go back and see them live in the late 70s. I still catch them every time I can, but did not see my first Priest show until 84.

  • This blasts the original version. Solos and sound are fantastic. This version has a much better feel, energy and presence to it.

  • @WatchTowr ---This entire album rocks....Buy it.

  • vote for Glenn Tipton in the Total Guitar greatest guitarist poll in musicradar(dot)com

    Judas Priest rules !!!

  • Halford = Metal God ... Pasan los años y canta mejor!

  • @auberginebundy shut up you puss

  • @auberginebundy So go listen to that gravel-throated Stevie Nicks warble on about the one-winged dove, you conceited prick. Then take your lips off Peter Green's nutsack and BOW before the Priest.

  • @burgerjett First of all, Stevie Nicks has no affiliation with Peter Green. The original version of this song was written and recorded long before anybody knew she even existed. Second of all, Peter Green wrote the song, so please show some respect. I happen to be a big fan of Green's Fleetwood Mac and clicked on this video because I heard Priest did a good version. I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable, though I still prefer the FM version. I repect your opinion, so please respect mine.

  • @brianpage100 was I talking to you? Speak up for STFU.

  • @burgerjett You threw the first stone. Maybe if you weren't an uncultutred simpleton you would have an appreciation for the original writer of the song.

  • @brianpage100 Once again- was I speaking to you? This "uncultured simpleton" can at least spell UNCULTURED. Can you? The JP version is superior. Period. Go cry about it in the comments on a Fleetwood Mac video.

  • @burgerjett That was a simple unintentional spelling mistake that I didn't even notice until after I posted that comment. Music is subjective, I prefer the FM version. Anyway, an uneducated ignoramus such as yourself isn't worth the effort. Bye now.

  • @brianpage100 I hope you had fun. I did. Anyway, back to the music.

  • @burgerjett I just lost 100 IQ points reading these comments

  • Concert prévu au Zénith de Paname le 20 juin J ' y serais avec mijn liefde

  • @vlenoir1 rubbish!!.. 8o metal version, sucks!

  • nice cover song love it!

  • @zergy1 80's metal version, no soul, too bad, sorry! listen to the original.

  • @edvjac82 yes i heard it before and its better! thats why i said it was nice, not cooler haha

  • JP RULES!!! Saw them in Vegas last year I was hoping they would play this one, but the show still kicked ass

  • Such a voice range that Rob Halford has!! This song always sent shivers down my spine. He is so incredibly talented.

  • one likes justin bieber....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.......

  • This song changed my life. Awesome stuff!

  • All of the songs Priest covered were better than the originals!

  • @warpig965 - Agreed but, at the same time, I've always loved the guitar on Joan Baez original version of Diamonds and Rust better. I love them both and I'm sure you've heard that version... if not check it... cheers

  • One Of My Favorite Judas Priest Songs!\M/!!!!

  • 2:40-3:15 one of the best metal music moments EVER!

  • @Erck712

    Don't you mean 0:00 - 3:18 ?

  • @Erck712 No truer words were ever spoken!

  • @Erck712 Hell yes

  • @Erck712 I disagree. I think the best part was 0:01-3:18. XD

  • @Erck712 Those are the moments I LIVE for!

  • @Erck712 in fact.

  • ive been listening to this song for YEARS , just discovered it was a freakin fleetwood mac song, wow!!!!!!!

  • metaLishi

  • dude thats crazy the way you have the album words and colors changing to a bad ass song

  • I replayed the screams so much my ears hurt.

This is PURE METAL, not some slipknot crap

  • incredible Halford !! All my young years

  • I wore this fucking 8 track tape out in my parents..playing air guitar with my lacrosse stick...no band will ever touch these guys

  • Pure fuck'n metal...

  • This is bar far the BEST VERSION but in case there is those of you who don't Judas Priest were not the originals of this track, it was Fleetwood Mac written by Peter Green.

  • My favourite music is mostly 90's alt.,retro rock&their influence.I despise 80's hair bands but Judas Priest rules! I remember when MTV still played music-I would wait 4 Judas Priest 2 come on.Thanx 4 "The Green Manalishi",It's still major!Any 70's Scorpions?

  • Complaining about the lack of good music today why? the tools available to find and sample music today are amazing. Imagine being stuck with the junk the music industry thinks you want, that was what it was like in 70's and 80's the radio was the only means to sample music besides live bands. FWIW I tossed out my last radio over 20 years ago now I choose the music I listen to and there are a lot of great bands past and present if you don't limit yourself to english speaking countries, explore.

  • Im 46--so this was the music of my high school years. But you cant let the fact that those are the most impressionable years screw up you taste for todays music. No..it can never match because this is my origin...but there is a lot of good stuff today

  • @Rizzy55 You see, i'm 16, and I disagree, i think you're right, I don't feel that todays music has the same feel as back then, a lot of it is made to sell, this wasn't; it was made for the music, I guess we can blame Metallica for that, real shame I feel, so few bands resist the temptation to sell-out in my opinion.

  • @UKLegendUK agreed, in my opinion metallica had sold out to a pathetic level, and i hope ther's no one that's gonna say going from playing thrash metal to cutting ur hair short, wearing make up and playing rock only to eventually go back to playing metal and saying that your going back to "grass root's" isn't selling out! it's sad that anyone would do that!

  • @MetalHeadJoe95 Yep, I mean, I have to be honest, I only started analysing Metallicas work in more detail after getting hooked on Dave Mustaine, but dude... Just wow... They are a joke now in all honesty, and Lars makes me sick to a certain degree with how he thinks he's what made them big when in reality it was just Dave and James if you know what i'm sayin?

  • @UKLegendUK it a real pity for the black album for example what Metallica once was and what they have become now;just look at that "St Anger" album; completely silly how they played their instruments; If I come to think of it they never had a high rated integrity;they once had anyway but now....just fuck'em let's enjoy some true masterpie music like Priest's

  • @bloodyrockfire Yep, least Priest could write real music without thinking of making their music easier to play!

  • @UKLegendUK definitely or difficult;that's what most modern metal bands tend to showcase;their "mangificent" skills;all that music needs is true devotion and determitation to do it and to figure out how to reflect the feeling into the instruments well

  • @bloodyrockfire I hear you, but what I mean is they make their music easier to play and lose the feeling at the same time as it loses any kind of vibe it once had, that's specifically for Metallica but you know

  • @UKLegendUK of course mate; there's need for some complex riffing to achieve a dramatic lookout;I know what you're sain' Metallica clearly sold the hell out and the fans don't even realize or want to even get it straight to their minds;they sadly become the grown up bubbles

  • @bloodyrockfire Exactly, the only hard thing in Priest for example is the soloing, the riffs are quite simple relatively haha

  • @UKLegendUK Truely stated;anyone could perform some powerchords for example but when it come to solos, there need to be both technicality and imagination involved. That's how Priest always use to construct their songs to drive peaple's interest in them more deep;the conclusion is ;Tripton and Downing are fantastic players

  • @bloodyrockfire Exactly dude, there has to be asome kind of musicality involved and some feeling behind them, whatever the solo may be trying to convey.

  • @UKLegendUK yes;I'm definitely sure all those solo's performed by Priest have the same meaning as their lyrics with a positive streak behind them

  • @bloodyrockfire Thumbed up dude :)

  • @MetalHeadJoe95 I don't think it's a crime to have short hair!

  • My friend used to have this on cassette and would sing along to it in his car. Oh, the high note in this song.

  • THE METAL GODS

  • that scream is iconic! \m/

  • this and thin lizzy's live and dangerous are the best live metal albums ever

  • @komepollass Wouldn't call Thin Lizzy metal, but ok, they were damned cool!

  • no one clicked the dislike button, that shows your all awsome =)

  • Yup Rob Halford is the Metal God. The vocal part at 2:40 onwards ALWAYS sends shivers down my spine! Arghh!!!!!!! It is just TOO GOOD!!!!

  • @maidenslayer yes, but don't dis-reguard Geoff Tate of Queensryche is awesome as well!

  • alternative bands never gonna compare a this monsters of metal never..!

  • i love the scremas at the end, just fucking amazing!!!!

  • The Best! Thanks for posting...

  • WOOOOOhhhhhhoooooOOOOOOhoooooo
