  • That's just your opinion. Most people who say one is better then the other have only played one of the two.

  • Its funny how they play gridiron on a rugby field..... Hahaha rugby is so much better

  • I love Gridiron. Aussie Rules is slightly more fun to watch and play in my mind but both are great competitive games. For example I am a massive Cats fan but I still stream NCAA Football as much as I can. Go USF BULLS!!!

  • why rugby vs. football? why not contact sports vs. gay soccer only haters

  • why do they wear helmets and pads are they pussies or something

  • @mjw789234 Because if you have the kind of contact that these players do and you are not wearing pads, you don't survive. I've played both sports and both can be brutal, but American Football takes collision to a whole new level.

  • @bvarneyrn lol collision up the ass

  • ill be in australia this year when michigan looks to whoop on on these other teams

  • wow they playing nfl like this in australia huh!?

  • yeah theres some in every state

  • is there a victorian Gridiron team

  • @2008bombers yep one of the best teams in Victoria are the Berwick Miners who train at Endeavour Hills. The head coach is Mel Martin

  • rays make it looks so easy

  • btw, great video Kyle :)

  • Run through tacklers? Maybe back in the day, but i've never seen so many NFL runners taking the sideline option as i did watching the NFL this/last year. I guess when another season or 2 is worth so much money to them i can understand their desire to prolong their careers as much as possible though.

  • you guys need to watch COLLEGE football . guys go all out and it goes a bit faster!! i like it over NFL

  • CXRCross...

We do run through a fair few tackles, but i'd say our first instinct is probably to avoid the hit as thats what were shown in our "normal" sports.

But then again, i play in Western Australia, mabye were just tougher than these guys =P

Hope too see some of these boys at State in melbourne 2010 ;)

  • It amazes me how good the Ausies look playing American Football. Maybe it's because they are so good at Rugby that it's an easy transition. But not just running and tackling...but the QB trusts his pocket well, throws a nice ball and even looks off the safties before the throw. Some nice catches as well. Very impressive.

  • josh

    love

  • I'd say most of these guys would have played Aussie Rules in their life, and that's where some of the skills rubs off. eg. The catching, Dodging/Running and Tackles. I've been playing Aussie Rules for 4 years and i REALLY wanna give this a go. Cause i'm really into Gridiron, I wish i knew it was played in Aus earlier.

  • ive been thinking about playing usa football

ive played rugby league for 13yrs but i wasnt sure if it was fun due to all the players but that vid makes me want to try it out

i live on the Gold Coast

  • don't rugby league is a sick game

  • Weird. I'm american, and I watch a lot of rugby and aussie rules. There's definitely a lot of that style stuff going on here. Seems like the runner are trying to avoid getting hit. In the States, the runner just go straight through everyone. Nice, though. =)

  • Kyle(AussieQB05)...Are you the QB in this video?

  • hey zurrixia, i am the qb, thanks for watching

  • @aussieqb05 Nice arm, man. How long have you been playing?

I was talking with a guy who was saying one of the major problems with international gridiron is that too often the passing game isn't there, primarily because you don't have people who've been throwing a football since they were little. I linked him to this video to show him that's obviously not the case.

  • damn qb has a awsome arm. thought other countrys hated american football.

  • LMAO at 1:14 the huge ass O-lineman is trailing the play and his ass gets plowed

  • Damn,that QB's got a pretty good arm.

  • Hahaha. Hey, that's awesome. Love seeing Aussies getting into the sport.

  • when i join ill take it to the next levle

  • its awesome to see other countries tryin out the sport.. i hope you guys enjoy it

  • #1 quick feet. QB is good as well

  • QB looks good man. The O Line giving him all day to throw helps also. Looks like a fun league you got going down there.

    Great vid.

  • Just saw the preview to "Perfect Effort" about De La Salle's 12 year winning streak. It looks like a pretty inspirational movie. Search for it on youtube or it's website perfecteffort (dot) com

  • Hey Gold Coast Stingrays! I would like to appolagize on the remark down below my text made by one of our rookie jr's!!(i would say) What is he thinking? making a remark like that. very sorry. Good luck to you guys this year.

  • Was that the Barnstormers you were playing?

  • I love this sport so much... but in the netherlands there almost no teams:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

  • Rugby is a mans game and you puffy americans take that away from it by dressing up in an armoured suit and crying if a nail breaks. Come n dude this american football aint rugby, american football was basically a sport for american wimps that wanted to play a contact sport but were to afraid to get hurt so they decided to bring a foot ball sport in which involved wearing a toilet seat around there neck for protection. Dumbass usa.

  • you sire speak as if you actually knew something about the two sports, all though they are both coming from the same sport soccer they are quite different. You sir need to get an education and learn how to use ht internet so you can search for the information you need. In the mid 1800s to late 1800s. The evolution of american football started. Reason for change in rules away from rugby rules and eventually into more equipment was for the simple fact many deaths and injuries

  • the sport it self was almost banned due to one hundred eighty players had suffered serious injuries, and eighteen deaths during the early days of american football. It is not possible to tackle or block the way you do in american football without sustaining heavy injuries. I am not taking anything away from rugby but you ca not compare the two sports as one of them being better then the other or a pussy sport as you like to call it.

  • . my suspicion is that you sir are a child around the age of 13-14 and playing rugby or want to play rugby I would like to invite you to try both sports at a highly competitive level then we can talk again.

  • I'm a British guy who has played and followed rugby his whole life and im about to start work with about 50 other guys from university to get our first American Football team going. I've always thought rugby was alot harder but that's purely because of the lack of stoppage so you rest alot less. I'm hoping to find that American Football makes up for the stoppage by bringing heavier hits to the table, we'll see in about 3 days on our first training day.

  • Have a go at footy Darts man and keep ya eye on sportsdarts for American Football darts

  • hey man my freid christian arnold plays for this team he is WR in the Juniors n im joinin in a couple of weeks nice vid guys. btw wats the song its pretty good

  • OMG I´ve never seen this much missed tackles. Do you play teams with a D# too?

Plz someone should tell them how to cover a receiver and to wrap up when you tackle...

  • I've been emailed that THESE Singrays are NOT in the Florida Gay League! These studs are Aussies who are making our game their own! It seems the Aussies play a MIXED brand of American Football (straights and gays in the same huddle), talk about going "both ways" playing offense and defense. My compliments to the boys down under bringing class to America's greatest game.

  • Nice idea of presenting the players at the beginning

i know this is a vid of the offense, but do you have a defense?

  • Florida has the only GAY football league on the East Coast. A lot of gays around the USA point to the Stingrays as the sexiest and tuffest footballers in all Semi-Pro. They are HOT guys who like to shower with their opponents. God Bless The Rays.

  • name of the second song please and i play for the wildcats grrrr :)

  • It's "Are We Shaking The Foundations?" by Brisbane band Repeat Offender. Damn good band.

  • i love the eagles

  • American football rulez... but it's not a verry populair sport in my country ( Netherlands ) but i hope it will be... I play rugby for 1 year now

  • Good game footage QB05! Your offense looks tight..will 82 & 1 be playing with you guys in 2007?

  • what are the name of the first song??

  • nice

  • Hey, What's that song in the Middle, Drowning in the mississippi river or something?,

  • Please feel free to comment about the football!

  • Gridiron players are hot!! lol Im on Gold Coast .. where do I meet one hah :P
