hey Customs, i brought the AMD phenom ii x4 955 black edition (cheaper than the other x4s) do you think its good because i heard you can overclock it as much as any other x4 cores and i am buying the same motherboard that you bought, would you recommend it.

@MontageFPS The 955 is a solid processor! The processor I have is just an overclocked version of the 955. You can overclock yours like crazy but you'll addicuit cooling. A channel called MajorSlackVideos is a PC gaming channel and he uses that processor if you want to see what games he plays with it.

@NBGCUSTOMS Thanks for the reply, I was just about to cancel the order for the 955 but since I am going with the cooler master V8 or some kind of water cooling, I can overclock it to 3.7 GHz (speed of the x4 980) or maybe 4.0Ghz. Thanks for your help.

@MontageFPS If you use the ASUS software that comes with my M5A99X motherboard, You'll be able to overclock to about 4.0 Ghz easy

not true the 6 and 8 core have turbo core tech..witch cuts the cores in half to run at a fast speed the AMD Phenom II 6 core is clocked at 3.6 when playing games..

@IBLoodSHoT DONT DO IT. The bulldozer was a major disappointment, i believe the Quad Core Sandy Bridge i5 2500k's beat the Bulldozer, which is more expensive. Either get cheaper AMD, or just go with intel

Yo NBG word of advice if u want more subscribers you gotta make more dan just elder scrolls and fallout 3 caus I know ghostrobo and he has over 95,000 subscribers includin me caus he put loads of game walkthroughs and he only started a year ago just a word of advice there u can ignore it or make use of wat I said anyway I don't care just helpin ya out oh and ur walkthroughs are awesome by da way later ;)

@Tehamazingjake Overclocking is basically, YOU changing the settings of your computer to make it run faster then it did out of the box. Note there is a chance of "over-overclocking" it and you could burn it up. Overclocking is not a necessary thing to do with your computer. A lot of people do it for a slight bumb in performance and others do it for bragging rights. But it's not required.

@pengunzrule9 Don't be a fan boy... I know that intel is faster... But no "OMG SUPER SONIC FASTER".... It's just a little faster... With gaming, You'd need a frame rate indicator to see the difference. Just because intel is faster doesn't make AMD slow. Besides, "all this good shit". You should've known I was going AMD when you saw the mobo. Maybe down the line I'll go intel, but If this system runs fine, then intel can live long and suck it!

im stating a fact amd is slower than intel even an i3 processor outplays that one imo im not a fanboy i state facts trust me if you had a high end amd processor computer that ran on the highest end amd cpu available and a computer with an i7 the i7 would win EVERY time i dont know maybe i just liek the intel cpus because they have been around longer but i have tinkered a little bit with the amd cpus and every one i bought got beat by the equivalent in intel tech

@pengunzrule9 Like I said, If my system does run too slow to record and render videos in a timely fashion, Which it won't because I know channel's that have an AMD 955 and a Radeon 5850 That can run games great. Then I'll go over to Intel. But tell me something. What's Intel's best processor for gaming? I know the i7 950 is good, then there's the 2500k and the 2600k. Which would you prefer?

the abosolute best intel cpu available is the Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition Gulftown 3.46GHz 6 x 256KB L2 Cache 12MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor (copy and pasted from newegg on teh name of teh cpu) that shit is faster than any amd six core available i would put money on it yet im about to spend alot of my money on my own rig which consists of an intel core i5 2600k sandy bridge which gets very good reviews even people who are amd fanboys like it

@NBGCUSTOMS I have the Corsair H50. It's fantastic, cooled my process over 40C.

But I also have the intel 2600k. I know you don't know much about processors, so if I may chime in:

The 2600k is fantastic. When I play games with it, it uses around 30% of it's power. Combined with the fact that it is Hyper threaded, so it has 8 virtual cores, it's a beast. Now not everyone needs that much power. I use my PC for other things, so the 2500k would be better for normal gamers in my opinion.

@Dosshow Yeah, I know a lot people with the 2500k. Ah well, I'm sure this computer will do just fine for what I'm asking of it. I just need it to be able to play games on high graphics while recording with fraps and audacity at high fps (preferably above 30). It should be able to, but maybe down the road I'll get an intel.

lol dude ghz dont mean anything lol ur still stuck in Pentium time where Ghz did mean something u could of gottten a 955 and OC to 980 with stock Voltage same performance. the difference is the 980 is OC out of the box there the same core Deneb

@Smartmonki25 hmm. 300 to 500 is pretty low for a gaming PC. A good one that will be able to support the upcoming Skyrim and BF3 games is probably around a 700+ price range.

As for Xbox, I will probably take a HUGE break from recording Xbox Gameplay. If I get a Partnership, I'll buy an HD PVR but until then I'll just stick to PC

@AvailabilityForce Yeah I was at the live stream. I honestly think it will be for the best! I don't really know Chilled too well and I never really watched Junkyard's content. But it should be cool seeing them all together in an office. I doubt this will happen anytime soon. Maybe by the end this coming up summer is my guess. But anyways, I think it'll be cool beans.
