  • what's with the silly hat haha, lookin like Canadians, yet the Ibo I know won't be wearing winter hats for our weather! Fools ;)

  • Please don't insult people's cultures. If u don't like the hat shut up. Go to an Igbo event anywhere men wear those hats. We also perform wearing it. Its cultural.

  • Abviously I'm very interested in the Ibo culture, my bf is Ibo and I've seen the dance done live. My comment was not an insult but a good humored joke about canadain winters. Do loosen up please!!

  • Am glad to see this video. I know all this boys. This is a village called nkpehi in Emii Owerri. Guys keep it up. I cant wait to celebrate this OKAZI festival with ya all this xmas..

  • carry on tradition long live Nigeria

  • This is called "Ogene Dance" probably from Enugu state. Ohaofia have their war dance not "Egwu Ogene"

  • warrior song, dont know where exactly but when i used to go 'home' for xmas, it was sung for the masquerades ( ugbowala, emekuku, owerri )

  • ohafia warriors i fink

  • Pleas some one from the owerri male dancers, post a video from the male dancers in houston come on TOM!

  • Thanks for the posting, but people need to be adequately informed about what they are viewing. Firstly, those are not masquerades. By the sound of the music and dress, I am guessing they are from Ohafia. In Igbo culture, there are so many different types of dances, musical forms, and masquerades. Masquerades are part of Igbo religion, but since most don't practice Igbo religion they have become largely secular, doing parades and theatrical skits.

  • tell dem
