  • 0-60 in 2.7 nuff said.

  • why would they expect more power when its just an update on a current generation it has more power than i expected it 2 have considering its only just an updated car along with the fact that they havent started a new generation of 911s yet.

  • 3.8 liter 530 hp on the turbo s i think it is enought

  • He is complaining why a 3.6 liter is producing 480 hp whereas the new and bigger 3.8 engine is only producing 20 more. What Porsche does is hold out a lot and make consumers wait. The 3.8 can definitely produce more hp if the porsche people stop holding out.

  • 0-100 60 in 3.4? Try around 3 dead.

  • @mattyoz0 c&d got 2.9 in the comparo vs the zr1. absolutely astounding acceleration. i wonder what the turbo S is capable of? 2.6-2.7 0-60?

  • emmmmmmmmmmmm.....

KEEP GOING PORSCHE & WE GOT YOUR BACK =D

  • Complaining about horsepower? ... Has anyone considered its 24.8 mpg combined? Forget hp, lol

  • 500 hp is plenty

  • That guys a tool. WTF is he complaining about. The car is running 0-60 in 3.2 sec and I've seen test runs at 3.0 sec flat (w/Chrono and PDK).

  • @Running1320

The host clearly hasn't done his homework...total douche.

  • love the colour!

  • 500hp and he is disappointed? Just proves why journalists never qualify for Mensa membership.

  • hosssse pawa !?

  • They need to start selling the cayman/boxster with this or even the older 3.6 turbo engine :D

  • I'm on the line for that Cayman (RS?)! Mid-engine handling and 0-100 in 3.00 sec!

  • emmm !! am i gonna race the F16?!!! am speechless .. no wonder its porsche !!!!!!!

  • 500hp, i'm not complaining! I'm sure you can achieve more than 500hp just by simple boost increase and remapping the fuel and timing curve, but the car seems to be quick as is. 0-60mph in the mid to low 3's..most cars avg. 5-7 seconds to do that! You want a fast straight line car, go build yourself a top fuel dragster! when this Porsche hits 60mph, i'll be pulling my parachute at just over 300mph! Just my 2 cents.

  • PS. i'm waiting for GT2 2010

  • this turbo goes 0-100 kmh in 3.4 sec ;)

  • More horse power to do what, what in the hell are you going to do with more than 500hp? It is a street car, get over it. You car mag people are outright childish and unrealistic.

  • 500 bhp from 3.8 liter straight 6 is pretty impressive... why doesnt he like it?

  • flat-6, not straight six. Porsche's famous for their flat boxer engines.

    (I can't help but nit-pick, I'm a Porschephile)

  • yeah allright, if youre a porschephile you must know about the new Porsche Singer. Old school styled porsche from the 60's but faster than a 2010 gt3!

  • and 3.4 sec 0-100 kmh !!!

  • only 500 hp what a waste of metal

  • 500hp is an amazing out put wehn you consider that the engine size is only 3.8litres but then again it is twin turbo charged.

  • yeah, for stock, thats quite impressive.

  • a stock 3.8l flat 6 making 500 hp? Tech Art will have no problem getting this to 1000hp

  • I bet that they could've got more horsepower out of the 3.8 by sacrificing low rpm torque but I dont think they would do that since the gt2 is still around and that 'only' has 520hp.

  • The best option introduced with this car is that you can have proper paddle shifters (left for down and right for up) at no-extra cost to the PDK gearbox.

And i agree with the man, I was expecting some super figures to teach Ferrari a lesson, like they always do

  • so your confident that the porsche 911 turbo will always beat mid engined v8 powered ferrari s even though the lambo lp560 is evenly matched with the top of the range 911 gt2 and the 458 italia is the lp560 s main competitor dont get me wrong i love porsche more than ferrari and lambo but i'm starting to fear that the days were porsche 911 s beat mid engine italian supercars are coming to an end the lp560 is way faster than any one thought it would be the 458 italia can only be better.

  • Well, let's just keep out figures crossed and wait for 998 version of the 911 Turbo :)

  • well i do think that despite the fact that the new 997 turbo has paddle shifters to put the 500hp down to the ground really well i still think the 458 italia and lp560 are going to rape the new 997 turbo but then again the new 997 turbo is just an update its not a start of a new generation of 911's but when porsche starts a new generation of 911's the 998 generation should be able to fight back

  • Oh, i really think that you are mistaking when you say that the new 997 T will be raped by the Ferrari or the Lambo, considering that the Lambo has a crap gearbox and the Ferrari has a rear traction, all considered i think that the real performance will be put down by the 997T, on all tests. So I don't think u will have to wait for the 998 to beat the 2 cars u mentioned. We all have to wait and see 'cause figures on paper are not always true... :)

  • yes but most car and driver road and track motortrend etc test resaults for porsche s are ussually similar if not better then their manufactor claims about performance remember that us car mags do get the best test resaults when it comes to testing cars i mean the lp560 may not have the best paddle shifters in the world but can you complain anymore i mean roadandtrack clocked it going to 60 in 3.2 and the 1/4mile in 11.2 wich is very going to be intimidateing towards its main competitors.

  • Yes u right, but for the LP to make 3.2 sec to 100 and 11.2 for the 1/4mile takes launch control use, witch doesn't last to long in terms of uses, also I think that on the 1/4 mile the cars will be close, and i bet that the new 997 T will be faster than the GT2 witch on the straight line gains on the LP after 175 meters: (drove both cars, owner of 997 T 680HP and Ferrari 599 GTB)

  • Well i think the new 997 turbo would acclerate to 60mph faster than a 997 gt2 because of the fact that the new 97 turbo will get awd and paddle shifters but i'm not to sure about the fact that it might be full on faster than a 997 gt2 through the 1/4mile the new 997 turbo has more driver aids but the 997 gt2 is lighter has more power and torque so if you drag raced a 997 turbo against a 997 gt2 the 997 turbo would pull away at the start but the 997 gt2 would pull ahead through the rest of th way

  • lol "hoess paaah" hahaha

  • This 997 second generation Turbo was supposed to be launched in 2011 as 998 !! however the economic crises made porsche to prelaunch the Turbo a year before to enhance its financial situation by selling and marketing the new Turbo !!! this is what I have been told and am not sure if its really true !!

  • Looks like a Porsche 911...

  • very nice looks sweet.

  • ive seen you again!

  • Bad boy looks! Love to have one.

  • I don't get Porsche. The cars always look the same!

  • why change perfection :P

  • u must know the history of porsche, its line 911, maybe thats why u dont get it.

  • i didnt hear any word from what he said cause i was scratching my nose

  • Well at least they dropped the first entirely new engine into the Porsche Turbo. What could you expect for a car that will only be here for a year, the new 998 Porsche will be out in 2011, they are not going to make the best performance Turbo and then come out with a redesigned model the next year. The 2011 Turbo will have 500+hp since the S model with get 400+hp and the Base will probably get 360-385 hp.

  • Belive me Mr. amer1cancer2753.. Porsche are not that stupid to out come with the 998 model after one year of totally new modified turbo engine plus new tail and head lights .. and here why they called this model 997 second generation !!! .. I believe lots of changing plans made by Porsche after the economic crises !!

  • Nice
