It's like Socialism. Although they have to work for no pay, the work itself is community oriented. Even taking care of their own counts as work. I like the idea of community oriented work. You worry not about yourself but instead about your community. Seems much less stressful than worrying about rent, utilities, medical, debts, etc. Sadly, Socialism breaks down at larger scales. Then again, what Government doesn't? Still, it is unfair to place two different systems together without a choice.

This anime is so...I don't know. I know it sounds silly, or outrageous, but I envy the way they live. I want a story life like theirs. I hope in the next life my life is like that.

Yeah, since they can't leave or learn about it and can only get scraps and have to work for no pay... and live in an old abandoned building.
Putting it all together, despite how they all act towards it, is kinda sad.
