@tholden66 - I might have this LR surgery soon. Were you supposed to have a knee-brace on and for how long? Or was it your own choice to use a brace post-op? thank you :-)
For this surgery, I did not weight bear on the knee for about 10 DAYS. Was on crutches for about 2 WEEKS. I could lightly jog with some pain after 9 MONTHS. After 1 YEAR, I was back to running full pace but still taking ibuprofen if on pavement for more than 3 miles or so. It's now about 2.5 YEARS and it is rare I ever have any pain at all. The scars can only bee seen in certian light if you really look for them.
@synchrolilie This was an arthroscopic removal of scar tissue and a partial lateral release. I was on crutches for about two weeks. Prior to surgery, the scar tissue was significant enough to rub away part of the bone in my knee. Some days I could not bend it at all even after taking Vicodin and ibuprofen so I was already used to using crutches or a cane to walk.
About to have my surgery in a week. Thanks for the video & comments. Hope I can run & be back fully a little faster, but we will have to see. How are you doing now?
BTW loved the humming Yellow Submarine @ the end. :0)
I think this was like 7-10 days after.. he took the stitches out the same day. It took about 9 months before I could run without significant pain. About two years later and I think I'm just getting to "full recovery"
I had this done 5 weeks ago on the 9th sept. So i know totally what you went through. But i wish i had your american doctors, im over in the UK and i had NO pain meds after so for 3 solid days post op i was in agony. they said i could take painkillers but it didnt nothing so i didnt bother. Im ok now though, just got to try and get the muscles strong again. And i thought his boots were amazing lol how is it now its been a few months?

What type of knee surgery was performed? How long were you on the crutches?
