Good idea! Auckland is a great city, but it has many faults. I think shared spaces are a great way to also add a more vibrant flavour to the city which it is somewhat lacking in my opinion.
Very interesting. I would love to see this firsthand to form my own opinion, but I respect those who already endorse it. I wonder if any City in USA has courage to try this, without opening themselves up to great liability risk if someone were to get hurt. That seems to be a major obstacle for any new innovation like this.
This seems a great new idea for Auckland. Our central city will have quite a different feel, way more welcoming and open. Traffic will take the back seat and the city can be owned by pedestrians once more. Innovation to our city design offers an exciting and brighter future for Auckland. Thank you.
Thanks! This is a great video, not only explaining your plans but the thinking behind it. Nicely done. Would be great to have a link where we can have our say or find out more.
Brilliant reminds me of awesome shared spaces in Amsterdam. There they are filled with fun, life, flowers, tourists and are great places to do business!
I dislike the grey of the paving tiles. Depressing. The old Queen street pavement colour was really nice (a brown-pink colour).

Wonderful! I am encouraging small towns to bring this into their plans as well. They are often uniquely prepared for this kind of conversion.
