  • Thank you so much for posting this video. I always wanted to hear from someone that has the disorder. It took you a lot of courage to make this video and I just want to reasure you that you are helping a lot of people by telling them, they are not alone.

  • I know a lot of people with bipolar. The disorder causes a lot of pain. Thank you for sharing. Sounds like you are still very hard on yourself. You are right, bipolar does not define a person any more than cancer defines a cancer patient. I truly admire those of my friends who can manage their cycles through diet, medication, proper rest etc. It is a tremendously difficult road. Many will not ever understand and will judge. Check out DBSA (Depression Bipolar Support Alliance) for support.

  • hi first i wanna say ur very helpful and thx for makin this video:) second, i have a question. i have had these symptoms yet im only 11. i see a therapyst but she hasnt mentioned any thing bout this disorder. so if i have these syptoms, is it possible not have it? cuz km worried i do have it and it will get worse if its not treated

  • @kmars29 If you can relate to her story, is very possible that you have it. Don't be afraid to ask your therapist about it. If you do not feel like your problems are being addressed, look for another therapist. Medication, a health diet, and proper rest and support can do so much to help you to keep your life in balance. The main trigger for tilting either to mania or depression is stress.

  • I've got bipolar and I've been diagnosed a year ago. The most saddest part is when you're not able to concentrate on tasks and do simple things, the people that don't know what you're going through can tease you and say or do hurtful things as well as being bullied. But the thing about people is that they are people, they like to feel they are bigger than you and better than you.

  • sound like me lol

  • sound like me lol

  • Hi rachel ur fit, im just a wee lad 16 yr old me and i have bp i on a manic right nowww FUCK YES NIGGER SON white power! i love u rachel. Btw, everyone im going to be a young actor, add me! boys and girls

  • Ok, this made me cry becuz it hit me to the extreme! I am diagnosed bipolar as well but recently realized I had become dependent on Adderall and Ambien pills and need help for that and to get back on my Bipolar medication that I had quit for the Adderall and Ambien. I have done so many things that I am ashamed of due to my bipolar that even I am appalled and embarrassed to admit. I have also been in a rehabilitation program for my BP and I felt like watching u I was watching myself explain this.

  • Hi my name is Carrie i am 29 yrs old.. i can relate to this.. i know what u are going threw. and i have been on 7 diff. medications for bipolar disorder but i feel like nothing is working..i heard topomax works good so i am going to see if my phyciatrist can put me on this...

  • I feel your pain. Somewhat easy to explain but for some difficult to understand. Stay strong.

  • Thank you for posting this. My son is going through the same thing as you and your video helps more than you know. Hang in there, and thank you so much for sharing. You are helping me understand my kiddo.

  • Ya Know " I want to say that I listened to every word you said" I was married one time and I married a women with bipolar. It did not last at all. I have been single ever since. She is the mother of my two children. Its really hard dealing with her today.

  • i found you explained it very well, i have bipolar disorder too, it's a fight to let people understand what it excatly is, and even when they try very hard, they really cant understand what impact it have in your life. great job with the videos ;)

  • thanks for sharing ! My mother has schizo-effect. And I never understood when she said she was "manicky"

  • AnkhFalcon: "...I've been wondering for years if I could be bipolar. I wondered how you ''find out''? I mean, it's not like there are tests you can pass in order to determine all that, now is there?"

Yes, there are. The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance has some on their website that you can take yourself. You might want to see a psychiatrist who specializes in BD. The Young Mania Rating Scale and the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale are two related tests that might be used.

  • Good video. Thanks for posting it. You mentioned that your dancing at a strip club was due to impulsiveness. I can see that part of it. An increased sex drive is another common effect of mania. Do you think could have been part of it too? Ordinarily I dislike bars but in my last manic episode I went cavorting in bars late at night to hook up with people (and also to blab blab blab with them...and because I didn't need much sleep). It seemed like a good idea at the time. Ha!

  • nice vid :)

  • great video helped alot thanks :)

  • Love your video. Hope you are better. i recently was diagnosed with bipolar and it helps to know that there are others out there like me. I have chronic depressions and knowing i'm not alone is really helpful in making me want to live :)

  • there's a bi-polar check????????? wow....I guess for the last 10 years of suffering from it, I missed that line....idiots.....no one gets ANYTHING for being bipolar.....except loss of friends, family, and your integrity at times.....good video...wish I could share my experiences...but....i have no energy these days to do a thing!

  • @notaryjen you are so right in the fact you mentioned losing family, friends and your integrity...i've experienced all of it..

  • great video rachel, i'm 48 have biploar most of my life, can reate to what you say well done, it's tough at times but the highs are great.thanks

  • To all yall negative heartless mutha fucks out there who tried this girl.... FUCK ALL YALL keep hating cuz thats the only thing you know how to do!

  • I am proud of u for having the courage to make this video, u are not only trying to help others like u as well as have someone they can relate to but u are helping others that might not understand what it is like to better understand this disorder. I appreciate this video keep doing ya thang forget these heartless ppl who leave u those cruel comments because they are not even worth it ! much luv keep fighting!

  • thank you for sharing:)

  • some of you people are really horrible...

  • Oh my goodness tuck that piece of hair behind your ear! Good video, good information, I'm just SO distracted by the strands of hair in your face.

  • I think she is fantastic for doing what she is doing!

  • Fuck all ya'll that are hatin' on this girl!

  • For all of you who can't sympathize with people who are bipolar because you are too self-righteous to admit that there are things you don't understand, there's a special place in Hell just for you. I have bipolar disorder and it's horrible to live with, day after day. My heart goes out to anyone living with this disease, and if someone on the street decided to act like my disease isn't real I'd punch them out without regard for the consequences.

  • Love the shirt! Love the lip thangy, glasses, hairstyle and the fact you say umm alot.. Dude your pictures on the wall are crooked. Cruked. Crookid. How the fuck you spell crookit????? Dont feel alone.. Fuck everyones thoughts. Im fucked up too. Or to. Does to have 1 o or 2 o,s???

  • thank you

  • @mrchrmedone

hmmmm....well you must just not understand any of this...its ok though

  • @kingme2189 I understand what your talking about i live with bi-polar too and i've been in treatment centers for 6 years finally go out :]

  • @kingme2189 yeah iv'e been dealing with someone lately who doesn't understand our illness either. they will never understand till they have been in our shoes or lived with someone who is bipolar. its very frustrating. people are very quick to judge something that they don't understand nor do they bother to educate themselves about it.

  • @mrchrmedone It is ignorant comments like this that make you seem extremely unintelligent.

  • @mrchrmedone hey jackass not everyone who has bipolar gets a check because of it.u clearly have no understanding of the disorder. ppl with bipolar can at times seems perfectly fine and then its like a switch going off and you cant control how you feel. you have no right to mock something you know little to nothing about. you have no idea how it feels to have so much energy one day and the next it hurts just to get out of bed. o and i dont get a check all the cash i got i worked for.

  • I love this. Your very strong and brave girly.: )

  • this is a great video! changed my life!

  • Your so Great. I'm the same way. I don't know what kind I have. But, It runs in my Family. Thanx so much for your video. It Helps Alot...

  • Wesking91

Have you no respect? One day something will happen to you and you'll want help and sympathy and we'll ignore you, stop being a dick and think about others and not just yourself. One more thing: you're to pussy to say your comment to anybodies face.

  • thx so much for sharing its crazy i feel the exact way and its very hard sometimes people take it as a joke like its not serious like nothings wrong with you and they dont understand because they dont have it how it feels and its crazy girl you said like everything i feel i found out when i was 14 going on 15 and im 22 also and its definetly hard for the fam after suicide attempts. and its also hard feeling like noone understand what your feeling and so good to hear someone that understands thx

  • thank you

  • diabetes and related complications like hyperglycemia, ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, coma, and death. Side effects can develop at any point during treatment. This is not to say that people do not get depressed, or that people can’t experience emotional or mental duress, but psychiatry has repackaged these emotions and behaviors as “disease” in order to sell drugs. This is a brilliant marketing campaign, but it is not science. - too many years I was a victim of psychiarty.

  • Thank you for making this.

  • you're really brave!

  • I tottally relate , cause i too am bipolar and exsperience all these sytoms and go through all these things . \ This is a really good documentary

  • Hey Rachel,

smart video u are right on.

  • Hey guys! thanks so much for your comments! sorry i haven't made another video yet.....i will soon, things have been so crazy this summer....i have much more to say about this disorder....it will be up soon!!

  • I'm not sure if I have bipolar disorder, but I think I might.

My aunt has been diagnosed with it a few years ago. I'm still a teenager, but I reserched online and some teenagers have it. My mood last from 2 weeks to about 9 months, so I doubd it's the hormones. I can relate a lot to the symptoms of bipolar disorder II, but I haven't talked to anyone about it yet.

Your video was very helpful. I think I'm going to talk to my parents about it because I relat to it so much.

    Thanks for posting. :)

  • Good video, rachel. I am glad that you have the courage to express yourself. It sucks when someone has a bipolar disorder. I believe that anyone can be normal.

  • Comment removed

  • I really liked your video. I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar and it's been hard. I had to go on leave of absence from work and am in the process of getting disability.

  • @WesKing91

well, i hope you can grow up one day because you obviously have no respect. I do not take this personally but i hope you can be open minded and not as judgmental

  • @kingme2189 I wish you could put your damn self in her shoe you idiot

  • @WesKing91 screw you! you have no idea what this girl goes through. I think she's brave to talk about it.

  • I have Bipolar and struggle with suicidal thought constantly. This disease is horrible I feel like it’s a living mental cancer that makes you patiently suffer. Even with meds I feel hopeless. This disease has made me single. I'm a good looking guy but am afraid to even date because of my manic episodes. In addition, as soon most girls find out your bipolar there like see ya! People call you names like crazy and whacko! I just make everything a joke anymore b/c that’s what life is a cruel joke.

  • @smllmyfngrs

    Here's The Flipside, Bro :

I Have Met Women Who Are NOT Afraid, But Actually Attracted To It...

I Have Been In These Situations.... And Then I Am The One Who Gets Scared, LoL !!!

  • I can totally understand where you're coming from.

Several of my friends have a severe case of Bipolar Disorder type 1, but my friend Leah has a moderate case of Bipolar Disorder type 2.

I used to SEEM bipolar to some people, but as it turned out, I just have Asperger's Syndrome.

My deceased brother had Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, depression/anxieties, and I think he might have had undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder.

Gosh, I am glad you are holding on, Rachel! I am proud of you for posting here.

  • Thank you for the video. I have type II bipolar . You are not alone.

  • Ty for your input. My 16 yr old daughter is currently hospitalized for bf. Im going to show her this video in hopes that she can relate. Ty again.

  • Thank you for making the video! I definitely think that I can relate to the feelings you get sometimes. I'm actually not diaganosed yet but I seem to have 3 day episodes but I'm seeing a psychiatrist and getting lithium. anyway I think many bipolar people experience depression like that. I remember one time where I was close to suicide on top of a fire exit for like an hour because I was so depressed. and with hypomania I just feel impossibly great. I hope you are okay you havent made a video :/

  • Try to remember the records that when you are listening to them you lose track of time. After you find those records listen to them reading this website instructables website and get lost in there. that will raise your dopamine levels and help quiting depression.

    Greetings from Portugal

and good luck with your future

  • I relate with you.

Read Allen Carr's The Easy Way to Stop Smoking even if you dont smoke it helps you visualize stress!! and kill it

Check out mental maps for your concentration issue.

To think slower ,learn a foreign language and practice thinking in that language and speak in english.

  • @sevenocram

    Yes !!!

And Those Digital, Smokeless Cigarettes Are Supposed To be Good :)

  • Please make more videos, you talk very naturally and openly. Im not gonna leave you any comments telling you your 'so crazy' like you said. I would much rather say you are so strong for making this and sharing in such a fab way.

I can totally relate to some of the impulsiveness you feel, i feel like my brain switches off the bit that makes me think of the consequences of my actions.

Good Luck with the new program you are taking part in!
